**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (3 Viewers)

BTW, this was inevitable once Francesa said there was "NO WAY" A-Rod was going to reach 90 RBIs.

Yes, I have that one locked up tight in the film archive.

Heard an interesting statement on XM last night ... I think it was Steve Sax.

After all of the rhetoric from Boras about the Cubs not bringing up Bryant potentially costing them wins in the pennant chase, you can certainly argue that Bryant cost the Cubs a win yesterday.

Ehh, omelet/eggs. I'm sure Mike Trout "costs" the Angels a couple games every year too.

Probably.

Who you start?

Lester vsSD Cashner or Richards @HOU Feldman?

Points league, no negatives, 8pts for the win. Really need to pick this one right. Haven't seen a pitch count mentioned for Richards and I believe I read he threw 91 in his last game. Gamble on Colon Friday paid off but gave me this decision.

I'd consult teh betting lines, but I imagine those will be pretty close. Don't see anything yet for the Angels.

I'd also make sure the wind wasn't blowing out at Wrigley tomorrow, too, which will also show up in the total.

Oh, I agree they're both kind of stupid. But it was a good way of pointing out the potential hypocrisy in Boras' protest about what the Cubs did.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Ted Williams' major league debut in 1939. Also the only time Williams and Gehrig played against each other.

Love looking up stuff like this.
Gehrig played against Williams

Williams played against Jim Kaat

Jim Kaat played against Daryl Strawberry

Daryl Strawberry played against Alex Rodriegez

Amazing to think we have in 2015 a played 3 times removed from Lou Gehrig.

Strawberry was just the first guy I saw on Kaat's list and there may be cooler examples to get a longer connection.

The Braves' off-season just keeps getting better and better. Markakis, Gomes, Callaspo, and Pierzynski are the sort of solid adds that nobody ever gets excited about and Shelby is a badass.

Mariners rally scoring 5 in last 3 innings. This never would have have happened last few years. The starting pitching outside Felix has sucked, if that comes around watch out.
