Are you a Hamels owner? Seems like it makes sense for both sides. Please trade Baez to Philadelphia and Hamels to the Cubs. Please, pretty please.

Looks like Castro is being offered as well. Are you a Hamels owner? Seems like it makes sense for both sides. Please trade Baez to Philadelphia and Hamels to the Cubs. Please, pretty please.
That doesnt make sense. Why would they trade them both?Looks like Castro is being offered as well. Are you a Hamels owner? Seems like it makes sense for both sides. Please trade Baez to Philadelphia and Hamels to the Cubs. Please, pretty please.
McCullersWDIS?!? Replace Hutchinson with:
Bauer vs White Sox/Samardzija
Or
McCullers vs Red Sox/Miley
TIA
It's close, the WS offense is historically bad.McCullersWDIS?!? Replace Hutchinson with:

I'm assuming they would get both Hamels and Papelbon if this is trueThat doesnt make sense. Why would they trade them both?Looks like Castro is being offered as well. Are you a Hamels owner? Yeah, tough to bench McCullers, but I'd risk it with Bauer. He's done well against the Sux, who have been awful hitting. If you need more, this is his second time against the Red Sox. If I can avoid starting young arms the second time through against a good hitting team I do it. If McCullers does well you probably can't consider benching him again for a while, but that's certainly not a bad thing. It's close, the WS offense is historically bad.McCullersWDIS?!? I just dont see why the Cubs would trade them both (dont they plan to use one of them?) or why the Phils would want them both (their best prospect is a SS).I'm assuming they would get both Hamels and Papelbon if this is trueThat doesnt make sense. That's what the Tigers announcers said. They made no mention of what the A's are getting in return. Hopefully something ####tyKazmir to Hou?

If they can get a right handed power bat with multiple years left then I think it may make sense.Tribe are apparently considering trading Carrasco which seems nuts, he's got three really cheap years left.

I get if they're trying to move him for a bat, but he seems like a guy who should fetch a really good MLB player. Maybe that's what they're trying to do?if there's one thing the Indians have in spades, it's cost-controlled starters.

Jays beat reporters are down playing the rumours FWIWRumor of done deal between Blue Jays and Padres percolating, involving either Cashner or Ross.
I think he made a fine deal. And with so many pitchers reportedly available at the deadline, he went and got it done ahead of the (expected) wave and gets to be the market maker for other teams looking to deal arms. It's hard to fault the Beanes on the Kazmir business. They got 1.5 productive and healthy years out of him. 4.7 rWAR from a back-loaded 2/$20M contract is an excellent return and two semi-interesting prospects as parting gifts ain't nothing. You could argue that the FA compensation pick might be a better return but that's risky biz for a 31 year old with an injury history.
It's not Kazmir's fault that the A's didn't go further last year or contend this year.
Keeping him would've been negligent. And I'd rather have two guys who are doing well in pro ball, even at the lower levels, then maybe a 85-90% chance of one comp pick. It's hard to fault the Beanes on the Kazmir business. Yeah they're big believers in striking early before a market gets tight. And it gives the Astros something without having to pay the massive asking prices that would come along with a Cueto/Hamels/Price.I think he made a fine deal. No, that would be bad for Baez owners. Him going to Philthadelphia would be awesome. 40 homers, .238 AvgAnnyong said:Baez!MAC_32 said:If they can get a right handed power bat with multiple years left then I think it may make sense.Good Posting Judge said:Tribe are apparently considering trading Carrasco which seems nuts, he's got three really cheap years left.
Baltimore doesn't buy or sell, that's kind of their problem.Northern Voice said:Does it make sense for Baltimore to sell at some point? Tons of FA's after the season, right?
It's been working for them lately though. They're really stuck in the middle now. They're 4 games back in the WC but are underperforming their Pythagorean by 5 games. They have some FAs but none that will bring good prospects in return. Their minor league system isn't particularly strong either so their buying options are limited.Baltimore doesn't buy or sell, that's kind of their problem.Northern Voice said:Does it make sense for Baltimore to sell at some point? Seems symbolic.Billy Burns left tonight's game with a testicular contusion after taking a foul ball off the nuts
I'm guessing the Cubs are banking on the NL getting the DH soon. Schwarber, Rizzo, and Bryant all look like 1B at best, Rizzo is brutal there already. You can only have so many LF/1B on a team in the NL (altough maybe the Cards would disagree).Haven't really done a deep-dive on this but I think the Cubs SP's have gotten lit up pretty good on the games where Schwarber has started at C, I wonder if his game-calling/framing is giving back all of the runs he's creating with his bat. SSS.
Yes, he's not good.Rizzo is brutal at 1b? Do stats support that? I always thought he was above average.
