**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (1 Viewer)

"Put it on the Boaaaaard, YEEESSS" is the worst HR call in all of MLB. "He Gone" is the greatest K call in all of MLB.

Im torn.

Mariners let Taijuan Walker hit today with 95 pitches, face one batter, and then pulled him. I love this shtick.
Hey, the Nats did the exact same thing with Gio Gonzalez! .

In Matt Williams' defense, Gio had given up 1 walk, 1 run and zero extra base hits when he was pulled after 95 pitches one batter after his plate appearance in the 5th. So clearly he just couldn't go on.

Yeah that actually sounds defensible.

Ventura threw at least 12 pitches that this group would describe as headhunting. Really surprised he didn't get ejected.

DET better pinch-hit for Victor Martinez if they know what's good for them. Shocked Ventura didn't throw at him while he was sitting in the dugout, Nuke LaLoosh style.

Toronto's chances of making the playoffs have increased 31% to 69% over the last week, according to BP. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/

The Mets are also up 31%, and the Nats are down 31%. The Nats are a few games behind SF/PIT/CHC for the wild-card, which means their easiest path to the playoffs is winning their division, which doesn't look easy.

Pads are down -0.6% to 1.0%. I think they are still 7.5 games behind SF, which is where they were a week ago when they decided to stand pat, but the Cubs are on a tear, and, obviously, one fewer week to make up ground.

Preller: "So you're saying there's a chance"

Jays lineup is ridiculous right now.

Revere on 3rd, Donaldson up, unintentional intentional walk... but have to face Bautista, who immediately doubles in the gap, makes 2nd and 3rd for Edwin, intentionally walk him and Navarro hits a 2 run single.Smoak follows that up with an RBI double, just for ####s and giggles.

Are they adjusting for personnel moves made in the last two weeks, or is that all caused by a couple of winning streaks? The AL has so many teams in WC range, a hot week to 10 days like the Blue Jays are having right now could move the needle a ton, but I was curious they also got a bump for adding Tulo and such.

I think it's both. My understanding is that they base their ROS on a team's current roster.
