**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (3 Viewers)

After 2,

Vince Carter with 4, McGrady and Antonio Davis 3 points each. Chris Mullin replied with a bucket.

(I know you guys usually do football players but that's unrealistic given how many runs Toronto is going to put up before this one is over)
Also Toronto doesn't have a real football team.

Nor will Oakland next year!

Argonauts have 16 Grey Cups, mang.

I defy you to find anyone else who somehow talked his wife into going to a CFL game on their honeymoon.

Wait, what was the question again?

The only thing missing from Dempster's shtick is trying to pronounce Montero backwards

The only thing missing from Ferrel's is the ability to impersonate Harry Carey

My wife refused to go the Catfish Hunter museum on our honeymoon. We drove right by it! So good on ya, man.

This doesn't seem like it's true.
First time home teams went 15-0 on the same day. Ever. First time in over a century that all the home teams won when every NL and AL team played on the same day.

There's been lots of times when all the home teams won on the same day - many Mondays and Thursdays when most of the league has the day off.

Home teams went 11-0 once in 1989. 22 of the 26 teams in MLB played that day.

Home teams went 8-0 once in 2008. Again, many idle teams.

Road teams went 7-0 one day a couple years ago.

15-0 for the home teams is a long shot. 15 -150 favorites all cashing in the same day is 1 in 2127 and change, and there's no way all 15 home teams were favored that heavily. 15 coin flips in a row coming up heads is 1 in 32768.
starting to come around on this.

So had anyone ever heard of a pitcher who paints the corners being called a Rembrandt before that damn commercial?
I had never heard that before in my life and other than that commercial, that is the only place I still here it.

And I watched a lot of games with Greg Maddux pitching.

Oakland hasn't had a real football team in years.

Once, during a tribute to Greg Maddix leading up to his HOF induction.Only remembered it because I saw it with a neighbor who commented, "If Maddux is a Rembrandt, then Jeremy Guthrie must be a Jackson Pollack."

I have learned recently via local "sports talk radio" that THIS IS THE YEAR!

ETA: Although SF and OAK fans are in a near-constant state of antagonism/loathing/schadenfreude (now a two-way street!), I really do feel bad for those poor jamoke fans. They got their team ripped once, they're about to get it ripped again, and they've stayed devoted to what is basically the North Korea of professional sports franchises. That's a tough road.

That said, it's not like Los Angeles is on the moon. They can still catch a couple games a year I guess.

Does every one but me know Paul Giamatti is A. Bartlett Giamatti's son? Because my mind just kind of got blown.

And my penis. By your sister.

Utley supposedly going to choose betw the Angels and the Cubs. He lives in the Bay Area in the off-season (I think his wife is from here), but wouldn't be guaranteed regular playing time if/when Panik comes back.

Gibbons didn't have a righty available to pinch hit for revere vs miller?
Nope. Jays have a 3 man bench right now. Colabello PH in the 9th for Goins, then Pennington took over as a pinch-runner/defensive replacement.

Only guy left on the bench was Navarro. If you ask me what business Aaron Sanchez has on the roster of a contender in August, much less coming in in high-leverage situations, I couldn't tell you.

Seriously? Sanchez had been fantastic out of the pen. Loup is the guy who should be gone for another bench bat.
