2015 NBA Thread: I felt a great disturbance in the trolls, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. (7 Viewers)

I read a comment on Twitter that the Browns are off the hook because they could go 0-16 and nobody would care. Seems exactly backwards to me. Cleveland fans finally know a winner. They no longer have to accept losing as part of their identity. From now on, if a Cleveland team sucks, there's no excuse about being cursed or any nonsense like that. Cleveland fans have every right now to expect more from their teams and to punish the ones that are consistently bad due to cheap owners and poor management.
Indians World Series will buy them a little time.

Congrats to Cleveland and the fans of the Cavs.   I was rooting for GS to win the title--but Cleveland was the better team this series. In games 1-4--GS let their game speak for  itself.  Games 5-7--GS let their mouths to speak---and this was a fatal error.   They essentially woke up the Cavs level of play with their mouths--and the Cavs took it to them.   Curry seemed to not recover from an embarrassing game 6 (losing his cool and then his wife's comments), and Thompson was very forgettable on the court.  Draymond was the only player that seemed to play with true passion on the Dubs tonight.    With that being said--no excuses being made here.  Awesome game to watch and an awesome conclusion for Cavs fans.  Enjoy your celebrations as they are well deserved.

Downtown Cleveland streets are still packed. 2 women that looked like sisters got interviewed - one drove from Houston and one from Atlanta to be there for the title winning game and celebration (they are originally from Cleveland)

The block LeBron made on the fast break with about 2 mins left in the game was one of the most freakishly athletic things I've ever seen. That play alone earned him the MVP in my book

Congrats to Lebron and Cleveland.

I had Duncan and Kobe ahead of Lebron now I can understand an argument for Lebron ahead of them.  Not sure I agree but I understand.

So first he goes for the regular season wins record instead of pacing the team for the playoffs.

Then he deliberately loses Game 3 to save the team's energy.

Don't you think it's time to fire Steve Kerr?  IMO GSW is going to regret Luke Walton getting away; just look at the GSW team splits under Walton and under Kerr.

The big loser was Curry.  Geez he shrunk from the challenge.  Guy was knocking on pantheon status.  He was knocking on top 10.  Now?  Top 25.

I've got to admit that I hated Lebron post "decision" and while in Miami.  However, seeing the "I'm coming home" announcement two years ago really made me do a 180 on the guy.  It seemed that even while in Miami he kept Cleveland as his home and had really learned a lesson from the whole decision fiasco.  I mean, this guy played in freaking Miami, was loved in Miami, had great teammates in Miami, and was damn sure more likely to win more championships in Miami, yet he choose to go back to Cleveland because it never stopped being home?

Good on you Lebron and thanks for being the rare athlete who actually learns from past mistakes, and understands how invested the fans and the city get in their teams.

Congrats Cleveland!

Pretty amazing fact: All of the current record holders for wins in the 4 major US sports failed to win the championship in the season that they set the record.

:lmao: Skip Bayless tweeted that Irving should have been the Finals MVP. Love that Lebron put a stake in Bayless's ESPN career tonight. Hopefully that turd drops off the face of the earth now.
That people care this much about what comes out of his mouth is what makes him worth $5 million a year.

Skip thanks you for your patronage.

Never been a big LeBron guy. Thought The Decision was a huge ego trip for him. That said, there's no denying the talent and greatness he possesses. The guy has lived up to the hype that was heaped on him as a teenage and then some. Much respek!

I'm happy for the folks in Cleveland.  They handled disappointment well over the years.  Better than many.  Good for them that they have this Championship to warm them.

Kobe is better then Lebron.  You just overwhelmed with what you just saw.

Kobe won two rings with Gasol and Bynum.  Oh yeah, another three on top of that.
James was already ahead of Bryant on the all-time list before these finals.

Now it's not even close.  James is certainly in the discussion for number 2 all-time now. Bryant is still struggling to even make the top 10.

Pau is a HOFer, not sure what instilling him and Shaq into the argument does for Kobe.  Kobe got bailed out by Ron Artest and  Lamar Odom after spitting the bit in game 7.  If we are counting side kick titles, LBJ has plenty of time to title hunt with better players at the end of his career.

Three titles is a long way from 5+ titles.

When Lebron takes an outside shot you are surprised when it goes in.  He's great.  But let's not over do it just because we saw a great series.  Shaq ####s on these Lebron performances.

3 is not 5.

3 is not 6.

Calm down everyone.
You seem to have a nuanced and analytical take on basketball.

Not really.  Kobe has 5 rings.  Lebron has 3.  Lebron has moved twice to make that happen.  Lebron has two less ring while playing in a weak conference his whole career.

Lebron is great.  But if we picking teams among the all-time greats I'm not taking a perimeter player that can't make a jumper.

Kobe is a better shooter.  That's about it
Kobe has the slightly better deep two pointer percentage (.402 vs .388 - this doesn't count Kobe's first few years in the league because we don't have that data, I don't think it would make a swing either way) but the slightly worse 3 point percentage (.329 to .340).
