It is shocking with the relaxed laws in CO that NBA players are not lining up to play there. To be over the top wealthy this off season, play a game you love, and legally be able to light up after at least 41 of the 82 games, sign me up!

From the depths of Mt. Take, Rick Reilly rises from the ashes

Adding Kevin Durant to a Warriors team that already had Curry + Thompson is like giving Kate Upton a 3rd breast. Nothing appealing about it.

Pelosi's not the Rep for Alameda county.
Durant announced that he's going to live on the SF side to beat the rush on real estate values when the new arena opens.  In that Player's Tribune article, Durant said of Alameda County, "not even Joe Lacob could pay me enough to live in that ####hole."

You do realize that Colorado's/Oregon's state laws have nothing to do with the NBA's drug testing policy right?

You are talking about the player, I am talking about the team. The analogy DEFINITELY fits.

A team (Golden State and pre-1988 USA) has won almost without effort. Outclassing teams consistently and constantly over an extended period of time.

Team loses, GSW to Cleve...USA to the Soviets. Team decides to create a Dream Team to prevent that "losing stuff" from happening again. Team convinces player(s) to join collective with shot at "history".

Also, Jerry West is the Shark of Sharks.

I'll  give it to u a little.  USA hoops was dominate from basically when Olympic hoops started in 48.  It took the rest of the world 24yrs and a ####ty call just to beat the US for the gold and another 16 yrs before the best of the best could finally beat the US amateurs.

GS has only been dominant the past two season, hardly a dynasty but they look to be well on their way. Well have to wait to see how many they can rattle off.

Half the league would be suspended if they tested for weed. Players smoke it everywhere anyways, I'm simply saying you don't have to look over your shoulder in Colorado.
So you think NBA players can openly smoke marijuana, and are exempt from testing in Colorado and Oregon, because it is legal in those states?

They certainly don't have to worry about the cops pulling them over and finding an eighth in the car. That seems to be how half of these guys get busted for drugs, it isn't the testing, it's the cops finding weed around when they are investigating something else.

Or in California
Legalization of recreational use is on the ballot this November, FWIW.

Medical marijuana is legal in CA, which means it's legal if you jump through the hoop of finding a list of *ahem* "chill" doctors online, visiting one of them, and telling him you suffer from stress, headaches, back pain, whatever. Then you get a card, and then basically you have cart Blanche to get "high af", as the kids say.

Getting off course here, but I think Durant's gonna live on one of them floating Libertarian island/nations in the middle of the Pacific, where there are no laws/taxes and ####.

Honestly, just give me 3 Westbrooks. He's just going to intentionally hurt the Dubs. He's too quick for Draymond to punch him in the nuts 3 times.

Not sure why, but that site is now offline...seems to have gone dark moments after I posted it.  Anyway, the "inside source" alluded to in the URL was Jason Carr (Austin Carr's son).  He is not really affiliated with the team in anyway other than through his dad.  Austin is the color commentator for Cavs broadcasts.  Supposedly he also called the Love deal early though.  Take it for what it is worth.

yeah remember when the fake show signed karl malone gary payton and had shaq and kobme well they lost the finals in bad form to the det pistons who had no real superstars so hey do not crown anyone anything just yet bromigos that is all i am sayin and there is a reason they play the games i have about forty five thousand other sayings like that to take that to the bank brochachos and that is one to grown on

and everyone knows he is signing in milwaukee to because otherwise i am going to be sad and no one puts the old swcer in the corner take that to the chiller bank broadhousemigos

i am so sick and tired of the lakers just having to be there to sign big name free agents like ole timmy mosgrove and now i just watched the tarik black the decisiuon special and he is going there to man this crap just makes the nba unwatchable with la just getting every big name free agent out there every year take that to the bank bromigos

He wants to play with his friend and compete for another ring.  Those reasons make sense.
Lebron and 4 shooters is the best offense. Maybe 3 shooters and a rebounder/dunker. He would get in the way of another Lebron title.  I think it's just Lebron playing with Riley and trying to get his friend more $$$.

So how did he just win? Kyrie is a good shooter, but a better finisher at the basket. You seriously think the Cavs have a better chance with J.R./Shumpert over Wade?

Really would like to see Wade go to the Cavs to bolster the Warriors/Cavs rivalry...would probably be the best rivalry since Lakers/Celtics IMHO.

Redick and Simmons would get crushed on defense. Lebron would kick the ball at westbrook in frustration by halftime.
Since when is Curry Gary Payton on defense.

Reddick at $1 is on the short list of best outside shooter not on GS

No so sure Simmons would be that much of a liability on D as you think.  Check back a year from now and we will see how good Simmons is defensively but he has the size, length and speed to be very very good. Don't confuse his lack of effort on D with lack of talent.

C: Millsap (4)

PF: Leonard (5)

SF: Hayward (2)

SG: Batum (1)

PG: Greek (3)

Switching every screen.
Or

C: Millsap (4) - I think he's my favorite player for this exercise for the price. He's something of a Green clone with less point-forward ability and better shooting. Could also take Green to the block.

PF: Lebron (7)

SF: Hayward (2) - I really like Hayward as well, he can keep up defensively and can attack his defender and shoot.

SG: Redick (1) -He's one of the league's premier shooters behind only Curry and Korver, can pass and handle the ball, and he's an underrated defender.

PG: Hill (1) - He has the length and ability to bother Curry and can hit any open jumper. I'm not sure he can pressure Curry enough offensively, but hes better with the ball than advertised.

I really don't think Redick would be that big of a liability. In this exercise you probably want him to be the 5th best defender, but I think he would be fine on Iggy, sufficient on Thompson, and wouldnt kill you on a switch to Curry. And after a drive and kick from Lebron, Redick would be money. Simmons would be abused though and elguapo's team would be forced to hit a lot of jump shots with guys that can't shoot. Simmons defender would be sitting 8 feet off of him like teams do to Rondo and Andre Miller.

As a GS fan, i would much prefer CLE shot their wad on a two year wade deal and took themselves out of free agency next year. But i dont even know if thats cap feasible?

LeBron and Russ could take it the hole on anyone.  Avery can hit an open jumper and is a lockdown perimeter defender.  Simmons is the big question mark, no doubt he'd be left open but he can run the floor with the best wings and just may surprise people with his D, he certainly has the ability to be very good defensively and I think you need upside and athleticism to beat this type of team.

the san fran clevland rivalry just has so much going for it for instance in san fran they have summer and in cle they do not bam right there there is the type of rivalry that is just made for hollywood which incidently is near la and the lakers and kobme stink just throwin that in there for added bonus points take that to the bank bromigos

Nuggets' offer to Wade reportedly north of $50MM over two years.
I think the Nuggets could offer him anything up to nearly his max salary. If I were them I would happily give him something like 26 this year and a player option for 24 next year. They could still make enough cap room to offer Griffin or Millsap a bunch of money next year.
