To clarify, the Celtics should only make that trade if Westbrook agrees to a long term contract. If he doesn't, I would still give them the Brooklyn pick but wouldn't include Thomas.Niles Standish said:They'd have to be crazy to make that trade. Unless of course he'd agree to sign a long term contract.
If he'd sign long term you give up a lot I agree. Probably Thomas & Brooklyn pick. Maybe more, but honestly if he'd agree to sign long term he'd likely sign once he got to FA. That's why NY didn't have to give up that much for Melo even though he was about as close of a comparison as we have for a Westbrook trade. I think he's almost certainly going to LA anyway so it's probably all moot.To clarify, the Celtics should only make that trade if Westbrook agrees to a long term contract. Sorry to tell you, but I'm actually quite close to landing that job.If you were a GM would you make that trade without a long-term contract? If so I'm happy you're not my team's GM.
Exactly. The "ice in my veins" stuff is a bit over the top, but the kid just turned 20, so some silliness is to be expected. But as a Laker fan, seeing Russell assuming some of the void that Kobe left is encouraging.Bruce Dickinson said:Some people just don't know how to handle the offseason.
We know Russell has some growing up to do. If I was in his corner, I'd rather see him play summer league and take a leadership role than hope he's taking care of himself with a lot of unsupervised time.
I think Turner is actually going to play up to that contract. He just seems like he's getting close to it. But I know that's very minority and I'm probably going to be proven wrong on that one. But just watching the kid, there sure seems to be something there.Portland is going to have about $48m per year for the next four years tied up on Evan Turner, Crabbe, and Meyers Leonard. I think they may be the leader in the clubhouse for worst offseason.
Portland has never been able to attract big free agents. They have to draft well to be competitive. They have a solid young core and I personally like Turner and Crabbe.Portland is going to have about $48m per year for the next four years tied up on Evan Turner, Crabbe, and Meyers Leonard. Turner is only passable in a very specific role he probably won't get to play in Portland, and Crabbe was a nice underrated rotation player. Now he's being paid above average starter money as someone who had a career high 12 PER last year.Portland has never been able to attract big free agents. They have to draft well to be competitive. Love The Captain.Stephen Jackson to attend Warriors training camp.
Your move, league.
Technically, Lakers pick is protected 1-3 next year, then unprotected in 2018.Sixers are going to be stacked over the next few years. Lakers pick next year, Kings pick swap next year, Kings pick in 2018. Thank you Hinkie![]()

So if the Kings are in the top 10, Sixers can swap but if not, they can't? like a reverse protection.2017 first round draft pick from Sacramento (swap, PHL outgoing)Philadelphia has the right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Sacramento's 2017 1st round pick protected for selections 11-30 (if this pick falls within its protected range, then Philadelphia's swap right and Sacramento's obligation to Philadelphia will be extinguished) [Philadelphia-Sacramento, 7/9/2015]
Bulls already had rights to the pick (top 10 protected).Technically, Lakers pick is protected 1-3 next year, then unprotected in 2018.
The Kings' pick is in 2019.
And the protection on the swap is confusing to me:

Yeah lakers should not finish in the top 3, my guess is top 10 so the sixers get that pick, the Kings should finish in the top 5 so the Sixers then swap 1sts. The future is bright in Philly!Technically, Lakers pick is protected 1-3 next year, then unprotected in 2018.

As a Celtic fan, I also remember where I wasStill remember where I was when the Duncan draft lottery fell the Spurs way. Thanks for the memories, Timmy!
Ciao, Big Fundamental. It was a great run.
Dunn nearly triple doubled with points/rebounds/fouls
Kawhi LeonardIn this day and age, will we ever see another Tim Duncan? A guy who didn't really care to be in the spotlight, didn't say much, and just went about his business. All while being one of the best ever to play his sports.
I remember as a kid not liking Duncan because he was so boring. But as I got older, I grew to appreciate his play and enjoyed watching him.
You can only swap the Sixers pick with the Kings. Unless the Sixers are a ton better this year, it's unlikely the swap is worth anything.Yeah lakers should not finish in the top 3, my guess is top 10 so the sixers get that pick, the Kings should finish in the top 5 so the Sixers then swap 1sts. Right... and they will be better than the kings this year, dont think its very close. You can only swap the Sixers pick with the Kings. Unless the Sixers are a ton better this year, it's unlikely the swap is worth anything.
I would have to strongly disagree with you there. And you will be able to make a lot of money in Vegas if you are right about that given where their respective over unders will end up.Right... and they will be better than the kings this year, dont think its very close.
Shannon Sharpe, not to be confused with the 40 something year old retired tight end.who is that?
Sixers are still a bottom 2 team. Lets not get carried away.Right... and they will be better than the kings this year, dont think its very close.
I bet the Kings and Sixers will have very similar over/unders when those open.I would have to strongly disagree with you there. And you will be able to make a lot of money in Vegas if you are right about that given where their respective over unders will end up.
Oh stop. Sixers are finally gonna be out of the bottom 5, while the Kings are inching towards it.Sixers are still a bottom 2 team. Lets not get carried away.
Nicest guy you could ever meet off the floor.Draymond arrested for assault
Luckily for him he plays in the NBA where they don't give a ####, rather than the NFL.Draymond arrested for assault
