Sure. Love helped him with the title last year.....but don't deny that Embiid would be way monier than Love going forward.

ETA. With Embiid's rookie contract allowing James to go get someone else.
If the Cavs were really serious, they would get Embiid now.  Pair him with Harden plus the big 3.  Otherwise, sell the team IMO.

Bird in the hand.

If that's the actual trade, that's great for our Bucks.  They get to see how Middleton comes back next year and then have the cap open in 2018-9 to sign the pieces that make sense once they renounce Monroe even with Parker's and Brogdon's cap holds.  Nice tidy bit of business to align themselves for the summer of 2018.

Accentuate the positive.
For the Bucks, Hibbert is an expiring contract that can be moved if they want to make a trade.  Hawes used to be able to shoot

For the Horncats, Plumlee isn't a terrible pick and roll guy and Walker is better at starting it than any one the Bucks have.  Hawes is a Trump supporter

That's all I got

Miles Plumlee is Cody Zeller-Lite, and not really even that lite, maybe Cody Zeller is just Miles Plumlee-Premium. They are pretty ####ing similar. It'll be a little easier for the Hornets to sub in Plumlee and keep doing what they do best, rather than totally change strategy when they bring in Hawes or Hibbert. Plus Plumlee is by far the least terrible of the three involved in the trade, even if he is just a mediocre backup.

Plumlee is the best player in the trade but the worst contract by far

He really is fun to watch.  I only wish the C's would go out and get someone to help him.  Come playoff time, teams are going to be locking down on him and it won't be pretty.
They will...the right deal has not been there yet and I give Ainge credit for being patient and not forcing the issue...there has not been a deal made in the NBA the last two years that I wish the C's made...it's just so tough to make a deal for a legit star in the NBA...with so many good young players, a stud Coach and the gift of Net picks they don't have to make a move just to make a move...while they are not gonna knock off the Cavs or Warriors this is the third year in a row they have made a big step forward...Isiah was good last year but he is at a far higher-level right now...he is an elite scorer in this league and has zero issues taking the big shot (he could not be more entertaining to watch either)...his growth is huge because he has now proven he is a foundation player who will be worth the big contract he's gonna get next year...I think you may hear Jimmy Butler rumors heat up and if the Bulls are serious about dealing him the C's have more than enough assets to get him...if they can get him without giving up Jaylen Brown (he has a chance to be special) and the Nets pick this year they would be in a great position to go to the next level and compete with the Cavs in the upcoming years...not sure if a deal can get done without one of those being included but it is possible...the other scenario that would be nice is if Haywood doesn't want to stay in Utah (no clue about that at all) and the Celts with the Stevens connection snag him in free agency...not sure if it would have to be a sign and trade though...

If the C's don't make a big splash I do think they will add at least one big man this season because it is a pretty glaring hole...there have been rumors of Vucivic and if it is not him it could be someone like Bogut...these are pieces that could help them make it to the Eastern finals which should be their goal if they don't add another star like Butler who could possibly take them to Cavs territory...

Looks like someone may have taken advantage of Michael:

Trade looks like Miles Plumlee for Hawes/Hibbert.
Not sure what you mean. This is ultimately a meaningless deal. Hibbert is terrible. Hawes is nice to stretch the floor, and though I kind of like him sometimes, Clifford doesn't seem to.

Plumlee is probably worthless, but there's a tiny whiff of upside still left there. Like a stale fart. He's tall and has some athleticism. If he can be a homeless man's Zeller and Clifford can get him to run a decent P&R, it's not too bad. Zeller is somewhat invaluable to the Hornets and he's constantly hurt. If the Hornets could have somebody that can do Zeller-like things in Zeller's absences, it might be helpful.

Obviously, not a great contract, but $12 mill/year for a warm body that's tall seems to be the going rate in the NBA.

Exactly.  It's always funny how some folks are so quick to criticize athletes for not taking $30M discounts.   Especially in a league with a soft cap where teams can spend virtually as much as they want.
Yeah.....forgo 30MM like it’s chump change. 30MM is never chump change.

I find it hilarious how fans think athletes should use play for peanuts compared to their actual market value. If a player does it it is his choice. When the Heat acquired Lebron (in a sign and trade mind you so he could have that extra year which he forgo and opted out of anyway...same with Bosh and Wade but no one talks about that) he said to the three of them....here is the pile of money....figure out who get’s paid what.

Lebron is not doing that anymore. He is El Director (he was anyway in Miami too as the highest paid of he big three).

Heat going for 10 in a row.......oh my.

Nice crowd there in Houston.  Looks like Brown-Dartmouth.
I noticed this too, really weird. I don't know Houston at all, but word on the twitters is that the arena is a PITA to get to this week due to the Super Bowl madness.  I don't remember them having issues with crowds in the past.

IMHO I don't think they need to make a giant Jimmy Butler type move to put them in the Cavs territory this year.  A big like Vucivic is all they need.  That and staying healthy has already proven to be A MUST. Andre Drummond would be my dream acquisition (can you imagine this team adding his numbers?)

I do however think they will need that big rim protector and a shooter (Butler, Durant whoever) in the offseason to put them in Cavs territory for the next handful of years while also keeping them a step ahead of the next tier of teams in the East and the West that are also getting better and improving.

9 wins in a row, including games against GS, the Rockets and now a blowout win vs the Hawks. Without Winslow, Richardson or Chris Bosh. The Dragic and Waiters backcourt has been very good. James Johnson is having a career year. They were a shoe-in for a high draft pick a month ago and Dragic was open to a trade. I don't think they'll keep it up but, it's fun to watch them play as a team.
See, Waiters was better than Wade and Kyrie all along.

Ultimately I do think they need another legit scorer...I love Isiah and feel he is worthy of a max deal...that being said with his size he is not a LeBron or Durant who really can't be stopped when the playoff intensity rises and they become the focus of opposing defenses...one other natural scorer would put defenses in a bind to pick their poison of Thomas or the other player...

The Timberwolves reportedly offered Shabazz Muhammad for P.J. Tucker, according to Basketball Insiders.
The Suns are leaning on Tucker heavily of late (possibly to showcase him for a trade), and Tucker has responded by playing his best basketball of the season. Over Phoenix's last seven games, Tucker is stuffing the stat sheet and averaging 11.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.4 3-pointers in 33.7 minutes. It's highly unlikely Tucker would see over 33 minutes in a night for a team such as Minnesota, so a trade would almost certainly hurt his fantasy value.

Warriors waive Varejao! Warriors waive Varejao!

For some guy. Who cares.
Be pretty funny if he signs with Cle for whatever reason... then GS beats Cle for the title.  So close 3 yrs in a row between the same teams....maybe he'd take a pitty ring at this point.

If you're looking to get 11.2 points worse per 100 possessions (like the Pistons are when he plays), if you want a horrendous defensive player who can't make free throws, and you want all that for only $100M over the next 4 years... please take him off Detroit's hands.

Exactly this, I am pretty sure if it were up to SVG he would trade Drummond and Jackson, but Drummond and the owner are friends so I don't think he goesm anywhere

Watched the Lakers play the Celtics...was very unimpressed with the Lakers...they have a long way to go...game was never really in doubt but the Lakers kept it close with some timely 3's...Russell has some talent but he plays like an old-school NBA player who looks like he is kind of mailing it in outside of getting his stats...there was a vibe to the way he played that I did not like...Ingram also has talent but his body is closer to High School ball than it is to the NBA...Nick Young looks like he is trying to get laid after he makes a hoop...the guy who impressed me was Nance...he was 18-11-4...a little Jae Crowder-esque being around the ball and making things happen...overall this team looked light years away from being a playoff contender...

Jaylen Brown looks like he has made another jump...he was 12-7 in 32 minutes...for such a sick athlete I love his competitiveness and defensive ability...you can tell Stevens already trusts him...gotta give Ainge credit...picking him at #3 had its detractors but it looks like an excellent selection...I really enjoy watching him develop...

Zach LaVine will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a torn ACL in his left knee.
Oh no. LaVine had some contact to his knee on Friday and was originally diagnosed with a contusion. This is obviously a massive blow to the Wolves, who were playing much better in the 2017 portion of the season. LaVine was tied for third in the NBA for minutes per game at 37.2, averaging 18.9 points, 3.4 boards, 3.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.6 treys. The Wolves will have to piece it together to fill this massive void with Shabazz Muhammad as the most interesting add, especially for points leagues. Nemanja Bjelica will likely be playing more three and is interesting, as well. Brandon Rush could get some starts, but his upside isn't very high. We should also see more of some two-PG lineups with Kris Dunn (hand) and Tyus Jones.
