Why isn't JaVale McGee a starter somewhere.  Give him 40 minutes a game and he's pushing Westbrook for MVP with a 25-20 average.

eta - 13th in PER ranking on the year sandwiched between Towns, Cousins, Butler, and Curry.

Yes, Chuck, neither of these teams are good at defense. Portland scores a total of 81 points on the reg.

I doubt any of the centers are back besides Damian Jones. Cool that McGee has resurrected his career, though.
West and ZaZa took min deals, so I can see them doing it again. Meyers would probably like to give Looney and Jones more minutes to see what they're worth that's for sure.

It'd be nice for them (and McGee) to take the minimum, I just think they've outplayed their contracts. That being said, GS seems to have such an attractive culture that maybe they'll make the sacrifice to stay with the team. I'd been assuming Iguodala would be gone (especially with his play with Durant out), but he's been saying that he's gonna stay so who knows.

It all depends on Durant taking less money which seems more and more likely. I could also see Bogut coming back.

I think Iggy will be the one to take less money. He knows he's getting older and playing limited minutes. Curry and KD may end up taking a little less then the max, but I doubt it. Livingston will be gone for sure. He didn't make much money after his rookie deal so he'll need to cash in. However with KD and McCaw, Livingston is expendable now.

Isn't he making good cash on the side investing with Bay Area VC's?

Seems like it wouldn't be much fun to be Westbrook's teammate. I get that he averaged 10 assists per game, but they're the most grudging assists I've seen since Shaq and Kobe split up.
:goodposting:

Still amazed he had the 2nd highest assists per 100 possessions in the league.

The Thunder are up against a much better team and had little chance to win the series regardless of whether or not Westbrook monopolizes all of the possessions. The 4th quarter last night was pretty egregious even by his standards, but that's how it's been all year. What's the alternative? Letting Oladipo create? Missed jumpers from Roberson? Playing actual team basketball? They've never done that. Maybe they'd be better off if they had played a different way all season (I don't think so), but at this point I'm not sure what you guys expect from him or the team. I never thought for a second they were going to win last night.

That was probably the first time in his career that I thought he looked tired during a game. The Thunder need an off-season or two to retool the roster. I wish they could get off that Kanter contract somehow. Should have let Portland have him.

That seems like an indictment of the Westbrook experience.

NBA App says "this game is nationally blacked out" wtf?? How can I watch the Bucks game?
NBATV for the national coverage or Fox Sports Wisconsin for local. Gus "I even yell for the other team" Johnson on the call

Edit I guess if you're on mobile and have Fox Sports Go it should work if you have TV service to go with it

Announcer just stated that Patty Mills is a FA after this season. Can any of you geeks comment on his market value? With Tony Parker about to cap off his 16th season (with a lot of extracurricular international ball thrown in for good measure, and 200+ playoff games), I've got to believe that keeping Mills in the fold is vital. It's not like they can go out and grab a Chris Paul like player, or even a Tony Parker like player.

ETA: I hope Patty gets a big payday. I'm a big fan!

The one where he shot 50% for the game and the lowest regular season percentage of his career
Got it. Thought maybe you were referring to his three misses in the final 3:30 (including an 0-2 back to back with the game on the line).

And here I was under the impression that he had played a perfect quarter of basketball.
Seriously.  I mean what was the alternative?  Does anyone expect him to pass up a heavily contested two and pass to a wide open McDermott?  They aren't paying McDermott to shoot wide open threes.  And who doesn't punt on the slim chance of staying in the game when you can pad your own stat line?

I said the 4th quarter was bad even for him. I wasn't defending his play, that's just how it is. You could dig up hundreds of similar possessions from this year.

I was more surprised that people were surprised I guess.

Huge blow to Bulls. Rondo has been the 2nd best player in the series so far. The work he's done creating off high screens has been beautiful. None of their other PG have a clue.

Not to take anything away from the way the Bucks are playing - they are really stepping up esp on D, but on a personal note, I'm very glad that I made a rule for myself a few years ago to never get emotionally involved with this Raptors team in the playoffs until they make it to at least round 2.   It is foolhardy imo to put any trust in them given Casey's lack of offensive imagination and Derozen's limited offensive game.   Kidd, Freak, et al are taking them to school right now.
