For me personally that is way too much money spent at QB where you only have 1 starter and no flex possibility.  With this years QB pricing I can't see rostering more than 3.  You could drop Taylor, RGIII and Gabbert for Wilson for example and he would likely score more than the 3 of them combined.

You're probably right. I literally spent 10 minutes filling out my team, just to make sure I got it in by the deadline. I could certainly see dropping Gabbert, and I like Wilson, so I'll think about that.

Part of my thinking was that going with 30 players and many players at each position would maximize chances of getting some big scores each week. I tried to purposefully include players who I could see having occasional big scoring weeks. But Gabbert in particular doesn't really fit that profile.

I like this quite a bit.  I have had every one of those guys except Peterson and Gano on my team at one point.

I keep going back and forth lol. I either like RBs in the top price range or the bottom. All the middle priced ones seem like crap to me. WRs seem to have the best value throughout IMO. At TE, I'm taking the approach of I'll just grab all those value guys and hope 1 or 2 of them can break out.

Personally if you are going to take 3 QBs I would try to take 3 with different bye week s.  Same for RB where 3 of your 5 guys share the same bye week.  It's an early bye so you may survive it but it's not ideal IMO. 

 
If you're going to post your lineup, I'd be more interested in your strategies than just reading your player lists.

I'll keep my comments brief:

Tom Brady - NE/9 - $15
Matthew Stafford - DET/10 - $12
Robert Griffin III - CLE/13 - $7

Love an inexpensive Tom Brady paired with an inexpensive Griffin. I think Stafford has an easy top 10 finish this year. While I don't relish spending money on three QBs, that's too important a position to be vacated in case of a season ending injury. 

Mark Ingram - NO/5 - $27
Latavius Murray - OAK/10 - $19
Melvin Gordon - SD/11 - $14
James White - NE/9 - $5
Christine Michael - SEA/5 - $4

Ingram a steal at that price. Murray not a spectacular #2, but his volume should pay off. I can't help but think that Gordon is going to rebound this year in a huge way. All reports say that Gordon is running angry. 

Odell Beckham Jr - NYG/8 - $33
Mike Evans - TB/6 - $24
Brandin Cooks - NO/5 - $22
Marvin Jones - DET/10 - $12
Devin Funchess - CAR/7 - $6

Would have liked more depth at RB, but WR is too important in this contest. After my big three of Beckham, Evans, and Cooks, I really love my cheap WRs. Jones is a steal at that price, and I'd argue Jones will match Tate's numbers at a much lower cost.

thanks for your thoughts. always torn between bye weeks and taking the players i think have the best shot to actually get hot and score some points at the right time.

Separate contests. The FD contest is a special contest subscribers can enter each week on FD. This contest is a freebie for any subscriber that has nothing to do w/ FD. It's a season-long survivor, best ball contest. Deadline on it is midnight tonight. 

 
Love the various strategies employed for this contest and hearing people discuss their team's make-up and choices.

I am going with 30 players - found a lot of inexpensive value players and could not go all stud (high cost this year)

Money & # players per position:

QB:   3 @ $27 total

RB:   8 @ $73 total

WR:   10 @ $95 total - always seem to favor a lot of wide receivers

TE:   4 @ $33 total

PK:   3 @ $8 total

TD:   only 2 @ $14

6:   $66 - this is a high risk week - I may review all these guys once more for a shift

Thank you.  I usually end up making this same plea every year.  If I could have been sure that I wouldn't try to squeeze in 5 or 6 more iterations before the lock, I'd have done it already.

I like my overall team best with the second option....but I'm very tempted to go with option 3.   I think it would be crazy not to roster Morris at the $3 price tag no matter the option you choose.  Maybe Elliot hits the rookie wall when scoring becomes a premium....maybe not, but it is worth the investment imo.

Not bad, I am pretty sure I have had all those guys on my roster recently except Maclin, Jennings, Fitzmagic, and Wallace.

I really like Winston this year, I don't think the Redskins will be able to run the ball. I wanted Stafford, Taylor, or Cutler as my 3rd quarterback, but I couldn't afford it or in the case of Cutler he has the same bye week as Cousins. So I took the extra defense.

RB - Latavius Murray - OAK/10 - $19
RB - Jeremy Langford - CHI/9 - $17
RB - Jeremy Hill - CIN/9 - $15
RB - Isaiah Crowell - CLE/13 - $10
RB - Derrick Henry - TEN/13 - $7
RB - Christine Michael - SEA/5 - $4
RB - Alfred Morris - DAL/7 - $3

I love Miller and liked Anderson, but couldn't fit them on this roster especially with Miller, Langford and Hill all having the bye week 9, so I went quantity here. I think Crowell will be the back to own in Cleveland and Henry, Michael, and Morris could all be real factors if there is some injuries or they just out perform the starter.

WR - Michael Floyd - ARI/9 - $15
WR - Marvin Jones - DET/10 - $12

Love Allen this year and hope he can stay healthy, if Luck stays healthy Moncrief is a steal at that price, Floyd never left my roster, Fitz is old and already banged up and Brown is dealing with concussion issues. I had Gordon, on my team until the end, but I needed the money else where. Also liked Woods, and Sanu for cheap.

If Reed can stay healthy I think he could be the number 1 tight end this year, Rudolph had a great preseason and I am hoping Bradford continues to check down to him, everyone has the other 3 guys and they are no brainers.

PK - Dustin Hopkins - WAS/9 - $3
PK - Andrew Franks - MIA/8 - 2

I went with cheap kickers for teams that have trouble running the ball and I think they will have trouble in the redzone, while still putting up lots of yards.

I really liked a lot of defenses, but settled on these. Almost took LA, Philly, Houston, Vikings or Patriots. As late as yesterday, I actually had two 6 dollar defenses and one 5 dollar defense.

I don't like Fitz this year, but I have been wrong before. McCoy scares me, I am not sure he will stay healthy, I think Ware could be awesome to start the year, but i am worried about later in the year. The rest looks good, but I pretty much always go 3 kickers and defenses.
