2017-18 NBA (Playoffs): A gasping, wheezing thread begs message board poster arguing how Jordan never lost a Finals to just let it die in peace (1 Viewer)

All these hot takes almost make me long for the warm sanity of the playoff dreck posts. Only a few months to go.

No one was a bigger PG13 fan than me, followed him ever since Larry Bird made the same eval of him coming out of school that he had of Paul Pierce, the only two times i've heard him call out a "player to watch" coming out of the draft. But anyone who thinks they are getting the transcendent Paul George anymore hasn't been watching a lot of Thunderball lately. He's been playing like Jordan this year................Jordan Clarkson, that is. "Oh, i got the ball? It's goin up or i'm goin in". As can be found somewhere in this thread, i remarked after watching a Thunder game that George took less steps-per-minute than any player i've seen (and since i come from the era of slowhite centers, that's saying sumn). Except for the comeback push after the leg thing, he's been coasting, to the extent i got off him as one of the Jerseypick© targets of the Celts when he was still in Indy. Let me also re-state that i see a lot of similarities to his teammate Melo when he reached his "#### winning, just give me the money" phase, turning down the Bulls for max (when max ensured you could sign no one else) w the Knicks. I can't remember seeing anybody come back from a hired-gun phase to being a winshare guy on a contender, so PG13 is a basket i dont put too many eggs in.
PG is 5th in the NBA in total distance ran per game.  That's a weird way to coast.

pretty sure I have watched more than a couple minutes of the Kings this year.  Do you know why his DefRtg is so bad?  Just because the whole team is so terrible?  I forget how that number works and how much impact the team should have on it.
The team has the worst defense in the league for a variety of reasons. Outside of like 5 games, Hill has been totally disengaged on both ends this year. I suspect it’s because he just didn’t anticipate how much of a bummer it is to play on a bad team, but it’s possible injuries have taken a toll and he’s just washed up like a lot of people seem to think. We’ll see.

To which I'll add Zach Lowe saying two days ago that he has a case for Defensive Player of the Year this year.

He's also got his career high in true shooting percentage this year thanks to hitting 42.6% from three.  Oh, and he leads the league in steals.

Hm.

Derek Bodner✔@DerekBodnerNBA

Bryan Colangelo says Markelle Fultz's current range is "within the paint."

Other quick notes on Fultz:
- They still don't know if changing the shot caused the injury or if the injury caused the changed shot.
- No timeline. Could come back in days or could be out the season.
- Has to completely rebuild the muscle memory in his shooting mechanics

And people say Lonzo can't shoot....

still trust my eyes, even though they've been spinning like pinwheels since IT's comeback. do not want PG13 on my team

The Warriors path to repeat is going to be interesting to watch this year.  Possible chance they could see Thunder, Rockets, and Celtics - all teams that have matched up very well with them this season.

Anyone interested in playing around with future salary cap scenarios should check out Shamsports. It’s not just a list of salary numbers, it lets you play out various scenarios and see what impact waiving/renouncing/resigning guys would have. Pretty neat.

No we're talking about that bust of a 2nd overall pick who can't shoot. He would do very well to ever become George Hill.
Ingram is a 6-10 small forward playing a lot of PG and currently averaging 16-4-5 on 46% shooting as 20 year old.  When George Hill was 20, he was averaging 15-5-2 as a junior at Indiana University-Purdue Univeristy Indianapolis.

My money is on Ingram, but perhaps you're right.

I was actually referring to your bust of a 2017 pick, not 2016, but I do understand why you would be confused which bust I was referring to. ?

What is your team now? Lakers?
i'm all at sea, the Philip Nolan of hoop fandom

ETA:  but hear me now - unless half the NBA opts out & signs vet min contracts w OKC, the Thunder will be a 1st rd casualty in the playoffs, even against the Wolves

I don't think that's a very controversial take.

The Bucks. The answer is The Bucks.
mebbe. if they had any kind of system but Feed da Freak.... i was considering em as my switch when i quit the Celts, but couldnt stand Kidd. and i am considering the shore N of Milwaukee as a retirement spot once i plant the peeps,

Given their roster, that's the only system that makes sense right now. Nobody's asking for more Henson.

These white home jerseys that the Bulls are wearing against the T-wolves tonight look like the old school Clippers jerseys.  I had to do a double take when I was flipping through the channels and saw the Bull at center court.

I get the allure, but it's short sighted. When Freak leaves, you're stuck with Milwaukee, brohan.
and who would want that when you could be playing where they hang sexual predators jerseys up right take that to the bank bromigos
