g'ahead, sixers, sign another slowhite chukker. you lose all those games cuz you cant defend the point, but, as long as you got plenty kickout guys, pay no attention to that.

Saric, who'll never fit with the dynamic duo the way he could elsewhere, could have gotten them almost any point they wanted before the deadline. Best two-man core since Shaq & Kobe and theyre doing nothing with it.
They still have Fultz. While he probably won't come back this season, I can't see how they'd trade away a great young player like Saric for another Guard.   Even if they did so- what defensive minded PG do you think they could have targeted for him? George Hill is a defensive minded guard- but he's not worth losing Saric for. I think landing Beli at the league minimum is a better strategy than under selling Saric.

by all means, let's waste another year. The Saric/Riddick-Kemba/Batum trade i suggested a month ago would - unless the chemistry didnt work, as happens - have them in the title picture RIGHT NOW

Saric - a great young player??
Yes? He has nice range on his jumper, solid handles for a player his size, nice vision and passing ability, decent rebounder-- how would that not be considered great?  His stat totals are capped because of the roster construction of the sixers.  His skill set is better than what his stat totals show.

:lmao:  Embiid and Simmons haven't even played a full season together yet.

I could see how that trade makes them better this year- but that trade doesn't land them a defensive minded pg that you mentioned. Kemba is a great pg- but is undersized defensively- so this take is different than the earlier take that I commented on

wtf does that have to do with ANYTHING?!

ETA: nm - welcome to the ignore
Best 2 man core since Shaq and Kobe and they are doing nothing with it, your exact words. Yet this is the 1st season those 2 are playing together, can they get a little time, can the 76ers have an off season now that they know what they have? Seriously, wtf is wrong with you?

he did put up some good numbers last year after Embiid was out, and was 3rd in ROY of the year voting. If he started last year better (which was tough transitioning from the European game and he played late over there) he probably wins ROY. Not sure how he fits on the current Sixers roster, but he definitely makes an awesome 6th man, and quality contributor. On a rookie salary certainly a valuable piece to any team

For moops and all the people that "liked" his comment- can I ask what your assessment of Saric is? I've watched him play a lot and I've always been impressed. I'm surprised that the notion of referring to him as a great young player would get backlash and I'm kinda curious to hear your thoughts.

I think taking exception to the word great is fine. Saric is a good young player. Great? That's a strong word.

I agree with Lee Jenkins:  “An irony of LeBron’s career: He seeks the superteam but doesn’t really need one. A half-dozen useful NBA players who can move and shoot are often enough.”

i like JJ Reddick more and more these days. Seems like he has grown up well and matured with his years in the NBA. Glad he called out the media for this:

https://www.si.com/nba/2018/02/09/sixers-markelle-fultz-shot-jj-redick-reporters-video?utm_campaign=thecrossover&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&xid=socialflow_twitter_si

at this point, everyone knows fultz's shot is f'd up. Leave him alone, and let's get him to the off-season to see if he can work through it.
You want reporters covering a team to leave a subject of extreme public interest alone? #### that.

i like a veteran on the team defending a 19 year-old rookie. and unless the public interest is shooting coaches, i have seen the shot. i know what it looks like, know it's broken, give the kid a chance to fix it

Who is stopping him from fixing it? It's the media's job to cover the team, not to coddle it. If Fultz doesn't want the coverage he can go home.

yeah, i'm not fighting either way. just glad a veteran on the team stuck up for the kid. obviously isn't an easy fix and i have yet to hear of a similar situation ever in the NBA
