2017 Closer Thread: Bad Day To Be A Blake (2 Viewers)

I didn't believe in him two weeks ago but it's nice to see Sean Doolittle having success in Washington.  He's an easy guy to root for.

Is Dyson actually going to end up keeping the Giants gig?
Probably, Melancon isn't going to be near 100% this season.  Don't really understand why he's still playing, but if the doc's are saying he's at no additional risk than he usually would then who are we to question.

So Dusty finally appears to have a reliable closer option in Doolittle and he decides to give Kintzler a charity save opportunity?  What could go wrong?

What are the Giants doing with Melancon?  He needs elbow surgery and they are 50 games below 500 yet he pitched tonight.

The nature of Melancon's surgery will supposedly give him enough time to recuperate before the start of spring training.

If it were up to me, I'd shut the entire team down.

Surgery scheduled for Tuesday with the Giants lurking only 21 games out of the second wild card

Do we have a 2018 closer thread yet?

Who do you like out of the lower tiers....guys like Greene, Vizcaino, Megacolon (if healthy), etc?

Drafts just about over so safe to discuss. It seemed like there was more closer specing than usual this year. Many unsettled bullpen situations and very late decisions this year too. Arizona, Texas, Angels, Miami, San Fran, White Sox, Cubs(kinda). Things starting to settle a little.

St. Louis belongs on that list as well.  It's not the dumpster fire that Texas, the White Sox and SF appear to be but it's definitely not a settled situation.

Funny, Kela and Nate Jones are two specs I was targeting. Not accounting for the injury and dooshyness factors of course.

There's always the possibility that somebody will take the job and run with it.  Those guys are probably the best guesses in their respective situations but committees and dumpster fires don't always go as planned.

Brad Ziegler has been lights out in ST for what it's worth.

Holland and Cardinals reportedly close to a deal per Heyman.  We can all go ahead and burn those Gregerson, Leone, Lyons shares if so... <_<

Holland not available in my leagues, bummer.  At least I didn't buy into those other shares.

1/$14M reported for the Holland deal.  He loses $3.4M vs. the qualifying offer but gets out of Coors in the process.

Pick up Jarlin Garcia. Even if he doesn't close, he has a really good shot of starting down the road and will qualify as RP.
