**2017 Preseason Observations Thread** (1 Viewer)

The Bears decided to get Glennon throwing after some good runs by these guys and stalled on the drive. Not sure I would have done that as a coach. Bears need some success and some scoring and a good drive running the ball would have been just as important as seeing what Glennon could do.
These are practice games. Have to make sure your general can make some throws. (Or not make some throws to make the Trubisky transition easier)

Dion Lewis should be a good late pick in FF drafts. Some of the runs Lewis made would have been losses if White was running. I expect NE to play their best play makers and Lewis is pretty much it at rb for NE.

Dolphins 2nd rd pick and projected starting MLB Raekwon McMillan is out for the year with a torn ACL.

Tell me more about Kamara...he is a guy I have my eye on...
First carry, showed a bit of indecision, but understandable because there were two unblocked defenders in the hole. Runs with low pads and seems to be trying to stay in control.

2nd carry, had a big hole to work with, but made the correct cutback and made a defender miss and finished with solid power for the first down.

3rd run no gain.

4th run, up the middle, gets contact early but keeps legs moving and manages to break off the defender (who was also engaged with a blocker) and get outside for 22 yards.

Do you think he can turn into a quality three down back?

Don't think I can speak to that based on what I've seen. He certainly looked like he belongs in the NFL. I hadn't paid a lot of attention to Kamara so far so I don't have much of an opinion on him yet.

I watch a good amount of college ball but I just didn't see him play much...he had a very choppy college career...

Corey Grant looks way better than Yeldon to me on this small sample size (duh, he had a 79 yard TD carry). Plays way faster, on his long TD he had two tiny little jump cuts that got him free up the middle and then used his speed to turn the corner and outrun the defense to the outside.

That's his game, I think he ran a 4.33.

The thing with Yeldon is that he's a really good pass blocker, that's what is keeping him in the mix/on the field.

So you do you expect him and Peterson to be used similar to Ingram/Hightower last season?
I'm thinking they're thinking something like 180 Ingram / 140 AP carries split by the end of the year would be ideal for them.

Jordan Matthews had 3 catches on the eagles first drive.  First pass of the game was a bootleg designed to get him the ball.

Perhaps the agholar hype was premature.

Still a lot of preseason to go, but right now I don't see how Trubisky doesn't start week 1. Which is too bad, because he looks identical to an idiot sales bro I used to work with, and for that reason I irrationally hate him.

Imagine rooting for a team that throws a pick-6, fumbles a snap, has a 0.0 QB rating and THEN brings in Mark Sanchez.

If Trubisky is the real deal the future becomes a 1,000 times brighter for The Bears...it would easily be worth every pick they gave up if he is legit...

The Jags should run him into the ground...he is going to be a real difference-maker as long as they don't find a way to somehow screw this up...
Well, screwing things up is kind of what they do.

Echo: Love what Trubisky is doing I just draft this kid can't wait to see how he follows this up next week.

This year shaping up to have awesome drama for Bears.  Irrestable force (Bears fans clamoring for Trubisky after watching Glennon) vs immovable object (John Fox's unwillingness to budge).
