2017 White Sox: BEEF! (1 Viewer)

Charlie Tilson will undergo surgery to repair a torn left hamstring on Thursday.
Tilson was initially placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain earlier on Wednesday, but the injury was actually far, far more severe than a mere strain. The 23-year-old outfielder was making his Major League debut against the Tigers on Tuesday and suffered the tear after falling while tracking a long fly ball. With the surgery now scheduled, Tilson will miss the remainder of the 2016 season.
Rule 288: DONT START ROOKIES

Robin gone and Renteria in.  I don't really mind it, but couldn't they at least interview a few different candidates?  Then at the end if he's the right guy hire him.

I think Eaton goes and that will rid the clubhouse of #TEAMDRAKE.

After that, they're done

No one wants Melky or Avi

Q is just too cost effective to move. Perspective: Q and Sale are essentially the same age, but with Q they have one extra year of control than they had with Sale. and even with that extra year, the total investment in Q is about $4m less than what Sale was owed over the next 3

With the return teams got on deadline deals for closers / relievers last year, I think they hold Robertson for now and gamble on him having a good year and upping his value.

Frazier's an interesting case. I think they hold him. Can move at deadline or give him a QO and get a draft pick out of it.

Actually like the Holland signing. They aren't competing this year and this should give them a viable arm to fill the rotation with while delaying that service time clock on Giolito and/or Lopez.

On MLB Network tonight the White Sox were profiled. The logo on their caps is of the South Side Hitmen from the 1970's. Very cool, and brought back memories from when I was very young. When I saw the players, I half expected to see Richie Zisk and Ralph Garr, maybe Eric Soderholm walking by. I could hear Harry Caray asking Jimmy Piersall if he had taken his pills today, and Jimmy responding by saying he had papers in his briefcase that proved he was legally sane, did Harry?

What is the long-term position for Moncada?  I know he's blocked at 3B for now but what if they trade Frazier?  Any insight?

I've heard everything from 2B (why Lawrie's gone) to 3B (Todd Harrelson's just keeping the seat warm) to covert him to CF. Last one was before ST and saw no hint of it happening during ST

His service clock is already rolling.  When do you think he'll take over at 2B?  Maybe May?

They've never been shy about starting the clock with their prospects, but this one might be different since they've invested a fan favorite in him and not just a draft pick. Thought I saw somewhere that, under current rules, getting an extra year means pushing him out to June

If they send him down until mid-season, they should still be able to avoid Super Two status and he'll be under team control through 2023.

He showed flashes this spring but the strikeouts are still a problem

Yeah he's still a baby and probably needs a few months more of grooming anyway.  I mean the guy has 230 PAs above Single A, we are just starting to see his potential.  could be a Byron Buxton type transition, but Buxton is going to be really good too.  White Sox have no reason to rush him, I'm just excited to see what this guy can do.  He's a potential fantasy impact guy right away, and his long-term value is through the roof.  Hope the White Sox lose 100 games every year, but I'm going to make Moncada the exception to my hate.  ;)

I'm kind of surprised they didn't schedule the make up as a night game.  Some White Sox fans have jobs.
