whew, Embiid gets a lot of love from the refs. kind of fun to be on this side of calls like this.

fun game with 6ers-Pistons

ETA: was never much of a Blake Griffin fan but the guy can still play. thought after that trade to Detroit he was going to fade away, but when healthy (key word obviously) he can do well

I still think playing McConnell over Fultz down the stretch is bad. Hope he gets run in ot now.

maybe. i wouldnt be surprised to see McConnell traded at some point in the season and Fultz take some of these spots. Hate to see a guy like McConnell go because he is a great pest and a perfect back-up PG, but not sure his place on the team

Amir Johnson is a fun guy, but not the guy who should be in on a defensive stand. Fun game though, both teams looked good. Sixers are a different team without Simmons.
It was a weird strategy to have him out on the perimeter when the inbounder was a guard.  Fultz would have been better in that situation.

Watching a bit of Kings and Nuggets - Kings look like a bunch of guys from a pickup game at the Y

Embiid should be embarrassed about his soccer flop but instead he's still running his mouth.  Philly has another game tonight.  Is he allowed to play in back to back games yet?

philly gets the bangos tonight and i for one am hoping for an epic anteater versus embid showdown that will shake the foundations of the nba to its core clash of the titans thunderdome style where two men enter but only one leaves and at the end all you have left is tina turner blasting her lungs out about it but thats just me talkin take that to the bank brohans

I appreciate that the guy had NBA fans eating out of the palm of his hand and just decided he'd rather be a heel instead.  And now we have an Eastern Conference Draymond Green.

I mean, he did it many times last year, and would have played in almost all the games if not for the freak injury from Fultz, so I'm going to say yes?

Hmmm.  Not sure how our daughter got invited to Jaylen Brown’s birthday party. Pretty sure I don’t want to know.

  :scared:

interesting sequence in the Bucks game just now

Simmons with the ball at the top of the key, idly dribbling, Redick in the mid-paint staring at him, vigorously clapping his hands and screaming... intentionally takes the 3 second call and barks at Simmons on his way back up court

This game has become a series of missed 3 pointers and turnovers.  Looks like a bunch of old men playing at the Y.

I happen to know for a fact that at least two of the Golden State “fans” in this thread are recent converts from other teams. Recent like, 2014. It’s shameful, but I won’t out them.

I didn't think Luka could hold up athletically in the NBA, but he's proven me wrong.

The Top 4  could all be All-Stars some day. What stands out about Ayton is that plays under control for a young big, Luka can flat out ball and will give Dallas a seamless transition from Dirk a la Robinson to Duncan, and Trae Young will be a beast offensively. Haven't seen Bagley play but he's stats wise he's produced in limited minutes.

listening to the latest Open Floor podcast. LA and the LeBron thing sounds like it is just a big marketing cult.

I have to remember next 6ers-Bucks game in Milwaukee to bet on the 6ers for the 1st Q, and the Bucks for the game. that game turned ugly for the good guys kind of quickly

the good guys won brohan take that to the bank
Since I can't lure you to Portland for the big game against Anteaempokopto, I'm giving my seats to my oldest son and his buddy.

Then, my son's buddy's dad and I are going to wait until tip-off and try to scalp floor seats to watch the best player in the game up close and personal.

I was haven’t watched a full game of Doncic yet, but some of his highlights are so reliant on craft that I think the jury is still out on whether athleticism will keep him from being a star. His shooting numbers (with all appropriate caveats) aren’t good. I was high on him predraft, but I think it’s too early for his doubters to be taking an L on their predictions.

Bagley has been better than I expected. If he wasn’t so left handed dominant he would really be wrecking people. I assume that’s something that’s correctable, but I’m also a little surprised he didn’t already address it over the summer since it’s not exactly a new problem.

i am sorry that i cannot make it but i checked and it is a 31 hour drive one way and man as much as i like anteater i cannot justify spending 62 hours in a car to see him play but i appreciate the offer and i hope that you and yours have a great time watching the best player ever in the history of the universe take that to the bank bromigo

Yikes. Haven't really seen his percentages until you pointed it out, but I think that craftiness you mentioned and his scorers mentality is what will prevent him from leveling off like Ricky Rubio.

I'd for sure take Luka over Lonzo if we're talking tall, unathletic, ballhandlers.

BTW....is it only a matter of time before Bagley starts or are those ahead of him really playing better?

Bjelica is starting over Bagley at the 4 and has been really good. It’s a shame Minnesota and Philly didn’t close the deal with him because he’d be a weapon on a good team. I think those two will pretty evenly split time regardless of who is starting. Bagley may also get backup minutes at center going forward if Giles can’t get it together.

Wow, I thought you were exaggerating until I just looked it up.  You all in the Northwest are way the heck out there.

Not a fan of the unis the Lakers had on last night.

Lonzo in these early season games has been looking a bit like the thing they thought they were getting when they drafted him. I wonder if Rondo gets the starting gig back after his suspension is over.

Hope you all had Captain Lance Stevenson in your DFS yesterday.
