I didn't say trade the #3 pick for a future #1 that no one knows who will own. You can trade that #3 for other first round picks and accumulate them for a better opportunity.Ya, you've already told us how you're better than most of them. Coyote's post is relevant. Philly wasn't trading the #3 pick this year for a future #1 pick that chances are doesn't even have the top pick. The chances of someone trading for someone's NEXT year top pick is as close to impossible as it gets in sports. At the time it was a good pick according to the best, most experienced scouts in the game. Don't be hindsight guy. No one likes hindsight guy.
The margin in talent drop off from #1 to #2, #2 to #3, #3 to #4, etc is not equal. If I'm a GM, I'm holding on to my picks to trade until that one guy that will change the league for 10+ years. 6'4" Guards like Fultz are not that guy especially with the perceived value from other teams of the first overall pick. The elite guard talent has come from anywhere in the draft.
