The Kid Mero said Jordan's just DeMar DeRozan with a gambling addiction and while I don't necessarily agree, I appreciate that take.
I did like stumbling on them from time to time on viceland and have occasionally wondered about finding them again, but I see they are now on showtime?  Is that a daily show or a weekly show?

I am not sure why you are doing this. LeBron is obviously amazing, but his effort and attitude have been utter trash this year. It's okay for people to call him out on that stuff. He is not infallible.
his effort has been trash? he's putting up a statistically better than average, by his own lofty standard, season on less minutes.

if he's doing that on trash effort.... ok.

just amazed that every little thing the guy does is being pointed to as proof that he's awful and has never been good. it's internet hot takery at its worst. it's embarrassing.

Looks like the info was collected prior to the season though. Giannis would not be 7th if that was done today, and I don't think Westbrook would be in the top ten.
Russell Westbrook averages triple doubles over the course of a season "he's just selfish, he's not even good."

Chris Paul/Demar Derozan/James Harden/Kawhi/pick a player has one a month "ZOMG A TRIPLE DOUBLE IS BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE IN BASKETBALL! HE'S SO GREAT! WHAT A PLAYER!!"

his defense has been atrocious at best. it is like he is in there to just pad his offensive stats. if so, good for him. but it seems like he is playing the ultimate "me ball" with the team and it is interesting that a good portion of fans and media are ok with that. as a non-Lakers fan i'm fine with whatever he is doing. But if i was a Laker's fan i wouldn't exactly be standing and clapping for a guy as the team is 2-8 in it's last 10 games

Effort in terms of how hard he is trying, particularly on D. He's always coasted a bit but it's beyond that lately imo.

There's lots of dumb stuff on the internet, definitely agree there.

Weekly. First show was ok, the second one (last week) with Don Cheadle was incredible. It was really just 30 minutes of non-stop ####-talking.

i didn't see a lot of the game but it seems people are blaming Brown in this one. Any sense to that?
Jimmy didn't play his role and didn't switch on the play. I see so many Sixers fans Blame Brown for all the loses. Some goes on him not all of it though. Ben had a few plays as usual of dumb turnovers especially where he plays out of control and got careless with the basketball in his passing. They also allowed Robin Lopez to bully them down low the 2nd half especially 4th QTR. Sixers took per usual quota of terrible IQ shots in the 4th. There's things to blame on Brown then theres players who need to be at fault. How Ben continues to not show a jumper that can't just be on the coaches anymore but blame needs to start going to the player. JB and others seemed confused at times where guys should be defensively. That may not be on Brown as it is much of how much the roster was so reshuffled. Remember Lebron's first season in MIA they looked terrible for the first 20--30 games avg at best. I think Sixers moved too many pieces at once thing here. Can't fault Brown there entirely. Fault him for not changing it up against Boston and other teams but not for the players not being all there yet.

I think some fans thought Chicago would be a cake walk but they haven't been the whole Second half. Don't let the record full you they've played a lot of good teams real tough this year and there are games earlier in the year they lost they would win right now.

Someone brought up a good point today. The things that make Brett a good players coach make him a bad actual coach. He's a people person. He has the guys back. He's always friendly and careful not to step on their egos. Now he doesn't need to go full Popovich but at some point there has to be real accountability for these mistakes. So many turnovers. So many missed switches. So many mental lapses especially in the 4th quarter. We'll see what happens down the stretch but I don't understand why Mike Scot is on the floor if he doesn't understand that Levine coming off a screen needs a body in his way and Lopez can be left alone.
Jimmy definitely could've fought harder through that screen. If Thibs was coaching him he'd be right in his ear on that call. It seems there's times Jimmy doesn't try anymore. I use to see a kid who went all out no care for his body type effort the same sense I see Archie make that diving play Last night and no Im not comparing them talent wise. Just the work effort. Jimmy Butler the CHI work ethic doesn't seem like it's been there the last year or so elsewhere.

Yeah I should've included that too. Lots of potential non-basketball reasons for the move, and lots of reasons to prioritize non-basketball stuff (age, legacy already secure, Warriors, etc).
His legacy is secure?  As what, the 2nd best player ever?   So he's been aiming for 2nd best his whole life?

Yeah LeBron seems more like he's going through the motions knowing they won't make the playoffs. His attitude is getting into Westbrook territory

It's not all about the stats its also wanting to put the team in a good position to win. You can call MJ selfish but the dude knew how to get his teammates into a winning position and he gave a #### about their effort. Westbrook when KD was there it was frustrating to See Westbrook bricking low percent shots with a wide open KD for an easy basket. Russel is a good player but he's never gonna win a title with his attitude and style of play. Lebron's body language says he's a guy who just doesn't give a #### right now

Westbrook is a better outside shooter than MJ ever was.

Yeah but not a team player. Westbrook can have all the stats he wants but attitude wise he's another AI. Great stat player but will never win a title with his attitude. Too much about him and not about the team.

As an all time great who can reasonably be considered the best to ever play. The guy just passed MJ in total points while putting up higher FG% and TS% and scoring isn't even considered the best part of his game. The only people left who consider him clearly inferior to MJ will never ever change their minds on that.

if you are starting a franchise right now do you go with lonzo ball or randy breuer take that to the bank brohans

Dr. J. No need to continue the GOAT discussion anymore.

is lonzo ball better than jack sikma please discuss take that to the bank bromigos
Sikma had better hair pre-perm. But that perm he got later in his career puts him behind Ball overall.
the big intangible here is that lonzo ball is already a top five player even though he has been injured most of his carreer and eventually he will probably get healthy and it will be like christ himself is on the court thats right you thought js dunk from the free throw line was something wait until ball levitates in from the far side of the court for an and 1 its going to be awesome take that to the bank bromigos

Meanwhile the NBA playoffs are less interesting then they've been in forever, with a three-peat winner predetermined barring injury plus no LeBron.
@TobiasFunke

I didn't want to clutter up the NCAA thread, but I found this comment perplexing.  I think that the East playoffs are going to be awesome, especially 2nd round and after, plus seeing Brooklyn in will be cool.

GSW seems more vulnerable than in the past, particularly because of injuries.  Nuggets on the rise, OKC and HOU trying to consolidate previous gains.

And I think the the Bucks and Raps can give GSW a run for their money in the finals.  Either those will be a lot more interesting than another Lebron-dragged-Cavs getting squashed by the Dubs.

I think this is easily more interesting than last year.

was jamal murray hurt last night?  he barely played in the 2nd half.  I know they were down in the 4th quarter, but it wasn't totally out of reach.  and malone's got jokic in there down 21 with 6 minutes left.
