2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (1 Viewer)

When I had a baby a year ago, everyone said it was a life changer.

I passed on a trip to SoBeach and the Orange Bowl this weekend to take my son to a big family get together (in Bama).

The life changing part was completely undersold.

So the safety ND has that came over from Navy...  do you have to serve in the Navy after going there normally?  How does that work if you transfer?
You pay it back - or you serve in reserves/enlist for a period - not sure the exact time that is required.

You said it was across multiple coaches, right? Or did I quote the wrong guy?

So, are they cursed? Everyone against them? What? If it's just Kelly, that's cool.
I’m suggesting ND needs to get real with itself about its bowl preparation as I said in my last post. The teams that show up in the regular season look nothing like the teams in the playoffs and instead look woefully unprepared.

Im not suggesting it’s anything but ND’s fault.

My wife is 38 weeks pregnant right now. I’m expecting to watch a lot less football going forward.

Have fun watching the game tonight bud.

A tablet with Netflix capabilities will help you fight for the TV. Works for me, until the battery dies.

We have two daughters, 8 and 4.  We still watch as much as ever, but my wife loves college football.  It has slowed us going to as many games until the kids get old enough.  We are all going to the kickoff game in Dallas next year though.

Is it a pay back or serve option or does leaving just mean they’re out?
Depends. Like I know a guy who dropped and he had the choice of paying it back or doing a six year enlisted stint. He’s been in 18 years now, so it all worked out.

I’m guessing the football player chose the pay it back option.

They could try not playing superior teams that are coached by Saban, Meyer, and Dabo. Or you could try to be realistic.

9 of the last 10 playoff games have been won by Clemson or Alabama.  The only exception was the game they weren't involved in (Georgia over Oklahoma).  If Alabama wins tonight it will automatically become 11 of the 12 next week.

Thank you for this stat. Those two programs in recent history >>>>>>everyone else

There are blowouts every year in the 4 team playoff.

2014-15:  Oregon beat FSU by 39

2015-16:  Clemson beat Oklahoma by 20 and Alabama beat Michigan State by 38

2016-17.  Clemson beat Ohio State by 31 and Alabama beat Washington by 17

2017-18:  Alabama beat Clemson by 18

This is the 9th semi-final game since the playoff started and the 7th one decided by 17 points.  The two exceptions were Georgia/Oklahoma last year and Ohio State/Alabama in 2014-15.   Everyone whining about Notre Dame "not belonging" because Clemson is rolling them has a short memory.
So basically a typical week in cfb

I don't understand why they don't adopt the NFL system for reviews. It's not perfect but way better than this.
Don't they review every turnover in NFL also? I don't mind the fact that they go to a central crew to make the call in college - they could be quicker when it's obvious as this one was.

Kyler is insanely fast but he’s not really a natural runner with the ball. Went the wrong direction on first down entirely
