"CFB PLAYOFF COMMITTEE CARTEL"
Bama was in coast mode most of the night, but I still felt like Clemson looked better last week.Capella said:7, so that’s a pretty good move.
Roll TideThe biggest draw for me is that the tickets are from one of the wholesalers I do business with, who works for one of the major corporate sponsors and my tickets include a VIP pre-game mixer. They never spare any expense, so that should be a fun time. The actual game itself doesn't interest me much, but who knows if a national championship will ever come back here. If I had to pay the $70 for parking and/or pay for actual tickets just to sit in the rain and watch two teams I could care less about, then I'd be a hard pass.
This is odd considering your team made the playoff and then proceeded to get boatraced."CFB PLAYOFFCOMMITTEECARTEL"
Oh good. A year-long report.
Just happy to have a chance.Tom Servo said:This is odd considering your team made the playoff and then proceeded to get boatraced.
The ticket prices for most bowl games was show up and make an offer. Surprised that extended to the National Championship game though.Free tickets available in Birmingham all weekend; TV ratings expected to be below The Bachelor tonight, but probably only after Imagine Dragons crushes it.
The ticket price thing is a tiny fraction of the cost. I looked at going when the tix dropped but all the hotels jacked their prices up like 4x normal rate and airlines bumped up their flight costs. It would cost me and my wife $6k to go out there and it would take 3 days travel. I could have got into the game here last year for half that and it was UGA. It’s incredibly far and inconvenient for 99% of the alumni and fans of the two teams playing. The ticket prices for most bowl games was show up and make an offer. Is that simply Alabama/Clemson fatigue or something else?
I can't help but think this is going to be a fiasco. The ticket price thing is a tiny fraction of the cost. It's not even convenient if you live in the Bay Area to go to this game. It's at 5pm on a work day and the stadium is over an hour away from San Fran/Oakland without traffic. I can't believe a game of this magnitude is being played here. When this decision was reached, didn't somebody on the board stop and think "hey, chances are pretty good that one of the teams will be Alabama and chances are also really good that the other team will be from the South or Midwest." I'm all for pie in the sky hoping when it comes to Pac12, but this conference has shown absolutely nothing to sway decision makers to park the national championship game to the west coast. The ticket price thing is a tiny fraction of the cost. Sounds like Kingsbury is interviewing with NFL teams so he likely is out at USC. They could very well lose some recruits because of this.Interesting. I wonder how that would effect the new verbals by McCoy and Ford yesterday. Would they jump ship if Kingsbury left?
Do they have any that haven’t already signed their LOI?Sounds like Kingsbury is interviewing with NFL teams so he likely is out at USC. They could very well lose some recruits because of this.
Yep, a 4 star WR commit didn't sign in December and 2 5 star WRs just verballed this past weekend. They can't sign until February.Do they have any that haven’t already signed their LOI?
Agreed, very strange. Hope he leaves USC since 5 star WR Ford may flip to Oregon if he does.Kingsberry got fired at Texas Tech because he could not beat the top teams or win consistently and now he's a hot commodity in the NFL? Huh.
I don’t think it’s strange at all. The NFL wants offensive gurus and he’s about as close as you can get right now. Why would the Jets care that he couldn’t get enough good defensive players to come to Lubbock?Agreed, very strange. Hope he leaves USC since 5 star WR Ford may flip to Oregon if he does.
I hope you are right. There are what, 8 NFL job openings? Maybe Dabo throws his hat in the ring.I don’t think it’s strange at all. That would be a goofy fit. Dabo is a motivator, a manager. When he used to actively interfere with the offense before Chad Morris, he nearly got himself fired. The NFL HC qualities would strip away everything Dabo is good at and emphasize every place he’s deficient.I hope you are right. There are what, 8 NFL job openings? Maybe Dabo throws his hat in the ring.
I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell Dabo goes to the NFL. He has a great job and is going to have the stadium named after him one day. He lives in an awesome place and has built a dynasty that isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Why leave that to go get fired after his first 5-11 season coaching some used up GM's drafted players?I hope you are right. There are what, 8 NFL job openings? Maybe Dabo throws his hat in the ring.
I agree, just messing with the Clemson homerI don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell Dabo goes to the NFL. He has a great job and is going to have the stadium named after him one day. Because people just like hating on success. I'm a Florida/SEC fan rooting for Bama tonight. I live in Philly pretty big B1G country and I hear constant complaining about the SEC teams from them. over the past 8 yrs I think the PSU fanbase has become unbearable especially the whole Paterno thing that happened. The PSU fans have passed the ND fans as the most irritable annoying bunch in my area. Even the other college alumnus and fans of local teams can't stand them. Listening to the B1G complain in general is awesome especially after we beat em.Why did all the talking heads keep harping on the "Alabama / Clemson fatigue?" "Are you going to watch the game?" "Do you care?" "Is it good for college football to see the same teams over and over?"
Geez, it was tiring listening to all of them Patrick, Eisen, ESPN Network, local sports guys.
If you don't like it beat 'em.
You win the toss and get to choose which half you want to decide if you want to kick or receive. It is possible you want to kick.Doesn't deferring just auto-mean receiving 2nd half in football by now? Why ref ask Clemson if they wanted to kick or receive?
I'm convinced that's just Saban's face 24/7/365.Saban looked annoyed he had to give an interview before Kickoff. Like lady don't you see I'm trying to coach a title game here?
So technically speaking...a team could kick to open each half? You win the toss and get to choose which have you want to decide if you want to kick or receive. It is possible you want to kick.

Does he even know football?Herbstreit doesn't know a sluggo route when he sees one?
