2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

Player down on opening kickoff in Central Florida/UConn. Going to have to be stretchered off.  Pretty much the worst start possible to first full weekend of college football with the current climate of football in general.  Sigh.

Seriously time to get rid of kickoffs. At least in college.

Jeffrey Wadsworth tells NY Times he resigned as Ohio State trustee an hour after Urban Meyer’s 3-game suspension revealed. "I didn’t feel I’d seen high-integrity behavior. You read the report; there’s things about emails, memory loss & that raised an issue of standards, values”

But Spock knows more than the trustee

OSU up 24 one play into the 2nd, is there a more competitive game on somewhere?

I have no issue with an opinion Urban should have been punished even harsher. Urban should have fired Zach sooner, and he botched the press conference. Those two things harmed OSU, and for that OSU has a right to punish him. Even firing him for that would have been justified. But Urban, nor the university did, nor didn't do, anything that harmed Courtney.

Purdue / Northwestern is 14-14 after 1 on ESPN
Pat "Genius" Fitzgerald benched his senior QB that inspired all of Chicago-Land by returning from a blown acl in 7.5 months to stake his team to a 14-0 lead with Trent Green Jr Jr III who promptly sucked ### and let Purdue back into it.  Not that I have NW +3 or anything.

Don't worry. Looks like the refs have NW -7.5.

What is everyones thoughts on ND vs Michigan this weekend?
MI guy. I'm irrationally confident and that makes me nervous.

Our defense is going to be terrific this year. Our offensive skill positions are really good (assuming Patterson is good). Our line is ... suspect. So if they can be average, MI will be really good.

I just don't see ND scoring a lot of points on Saturday. I see MI winning like 17-10.

So ND will probably win 45-3.

So we cut the cable 9 years ago. We’ve lived off Netflix and sports streams for a long time and never had a complaint, but the sports stuff has become a pain over the years, so I signed up for Hulu live. It’s quite nice for the sports. I will say I died a little inside last night when I turned on Hulu and it played some stupid gameshow hosted by Ellen. That’s the kind of crap that had us cut cable to begin with.

what the heck was the qb doing there?  Ref should have called it a sack, in the grasp

I love college football.  Michigan State was a 25 point favorite and they are losing to Utah State with 3 minutes left but driving

new season!  first four plays for me?  0-4 :bag:

like wearing a brand new pair of shoes, stepping out the door on a bright sunny Saturday morning, and stepping in a pile of dog poop.. :wall:

On this date in 2007, Appalachian State beat Michigan in what might be the greatest college football upset of all time.
