2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (3 Viewers)

Expect the LSU D to be conservative to force the Bama run and long drives. How does LSU score led by Burrow?  A lot of athletes on that LSU secondary and the Bama skill positions...

I also think LSU will have trouble scoring against Bama, but think they might get some late points against the second string.  my prediction 42-17.

what is your score prediction?

.

Michigan is a very scary team right now. They’re playing as well as any team on the nation.  OSU should be a home dog at this point.

It would lessen, but non SEC would still ##### about never getting the WC bids. It’s always going to be there and I see both sides. My eyes tell me the SEC has the best teams and that the Pac, Big 10 and 12, and most of the ACC is weak. It’s shown itself in the playoffs as well where OU can’t stop anyone, the Pac 12 has been terrible, and outside of one Ohio State team, the Big 10 has been bad too.  That said, I also see the SEC as getting too much credit because they play each other. You can’t get credit for losing, just because you lost to a team in the SEC. it’s a ridiculous cycle of quality losses which is stupid.
Yeah you must have forgot OU went to 2OT last year vs Georgia and were a matchup nightmare for Bama who won on a hail Mary. They were down by 3 at half vs Clemson? Terrible example, as per usual.

OU who is 0-2 and has given up a combined 91 points in their two games.  Seems like a solid enough example.  Also congrats on keeping it close for a half against Clemson.

Congrats on using “we” today when talking about Clemson. You’re just awful.

Will Grier is very good.  He is also 23 years old (7 days younger than Baker Mayfield), in his 5th year in college, married to a former NFL cheerleader, and they have a kid.  Not a fair game when men play against boys.  TIA.

I would have guessed he had been playing longer.  23 yo 5th year senior doesn't sound all that crazy.  BYU is trotting 25 year olds there.

Meanwhile, I went to a 62-59 triple OT game and can say I left not thoroughly entertained. 777 yards of offense, 540 yards passing by the backup QB (who’s a better runner), 303 yards for one receiver.

That may be fun for some, but I miss when teams could play defense in college football.

OU defense looking much improved without Stoops. They’ve only given up 24 points early in the 2nd quarter, normally it would be closer to 28 by now.

The team that beats Bama needs to have a real offense.

...

Since this game is done, a thought experiment: if Tua played for LSU and Burrow played for Bama, would the result be much different?

LSU’s defensive schemes against the run have been perfect. Tide RBs are just running through tackles.

...

Is Tua really hurt?

Devin White is not Jefferson from Fast Times ... he’s not gonna matter.
Well, let me tell you a story about an all-conference HS basketball player I played with.  Coach decided to sit him for the first half of a game because of a blow up he had in practice that week.  And wouldn't you know it?  That guy came out in the second half and scored 30 (pre 3-pointer).

Now stay with me here.  If Devin White can come out and score 30 in the 2nd half, I think we've got ourselves a ballgame.

Tua should sit and rest that knee. Game’s in a the bag.

Wondering if Bama defense will mentally relax and eventually allow LSU points.
