2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

Tua should sit and rest that knee. Game’s in a the bag.

Wondering if Bama defense will mentally relax and eventually allow LSU points.
No Jalen. He will probably see 4th quarter for first time. Game is still only 3 possessions. One more and we would probably see Jones.

Cliff notes?
for one thing, i was misconstruing what you were saying and actually they haven't been that good since Kevin Wilson left.  Wilson had raised the talent level there, but got fired for mistreatment of players.  He was a former Oklahoma assistant, like Mark Mangino, Kansas coach a few years back who got fired for similar stuff and was the only person who could ever win at Kansas and they've been back in the toilet ever since.

Will Grier is very good.  He is also 23 years old (7 days younger than Baker Mayfield), in his 5th year in college, married to a former NFL cheerleader, and they have a kid.  Not a fair game when men play against boys.  TIA.
I don’t get this. Will Grier is good because he 12 months older than his peers and he got a girl pregnant?

Burrow, more like donkey.

feel free to use that Baton Rouge Dispatch or whatever the hell it is
Burrow’s been inaccurate, but he’s not being blamed. It’s the trenches where LSU’s getting smoked. There’s nothing resembling a clean pocket for Burrow to even drop back into, much less square up a throw.

@philsteele042 Just got word from the fabulous Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. @LVSuperBook  SEC title game Alabama -13.5 over Georgia.

2. Clemson

3. ND

4. Michigan

-

5. UGA

6. Oklahoma’s arena team

7. Wazzu

8. West VA

9. Ohio State

No one else worth mentioning past that point.

Looking ahead, if the top 4 hold, I think Michigan gets the 3 over ND, mostly based on who they have to beat the rest of the way.

Puts bama/ND and Clemson/Michigan.  I like it a lot.

Just avoid the let down guys.

The local sports station was talking about the possibility of UCF making the playoffs. It was listed at 0.5%.

I don’t think UGA can pull it off but Bama losing the SECCG and staying ahead of UM/OSU/OU/WVU is the scenario I’m rooting for so you knobs will lose your ####.

In no way should Michigan get the 3 over ND. Either the regular season matters or it doesn’t. If both hold, Michigan should be below ND regardless of what number each is.

Florida, FSU, and Miami lose for consecutive weekends...for the first time ever (according to Pete Thamel).

I assure you no Michigan fan is at all concerned about this. It's been a great few weeks, but there's kind of an important road trip coming up in a few weeks.

The Big 12 repeat Final Week-Champ game is getting closer to reality with OU and WVU. Where they could take turns knocking each other out of the CFP potentially.

You're probably right that they'll keep an undefeated ND over Michigan. Even though right now I'd say Michigan is clearly the better team.

The Championship game in a 10 team league was a blatant money grab showing little concern for setting up the Big 12 to have a team in the playoffs every year.

Not having one was being used as a reason to keep the Big 12 out of the playoff.

And now...may be what keeps them out of the playoff.
Yep, but I think it's necessary.  Depending on the chaos, I think OU has a better chance to get in with a CCG than they do without one.  OU is in a tough spot.  Probably the best scenario is if Texas makes it so OU has a chance to avenge their earlier loss.  Although I think WVU is the 2nd best team, not sure how much beating them 2 weeks in a row moves the needle.

I guess WVU would have the best case if they could beat OU twice, I just don't see that happening.

Again, all depends on what happens to the teams in front of them.

Oh, and I said it last year, but moving Bedlam up to try to avoid back-to-back games again proves to be stupid.

I wish you could gamble on things like the two game over under.  300?  Too low?

This seems like it's kinda backwards.  If you look at the whole season and how teams are playing at the end, I don't see how they would be ranked any other way.  If you're looking at a single game, then of course, ND should be ranked ahead.  Seems like you're looking at a single game instead of the whole season unless you believe, today, ND is a better team than Michigan.  I'd like to understand that perspective if you're so inclined.

One team has a loss, the other team doesn't at this point + head-to-head.  You can argue if they didn't have the head-to-head, or if they had the same number of losses.

If one team is undefeated and the other has a head to head loss to the undefeated team then ND should easily be ranked ahead of Michigan.  Head to head has to matter.

I’m a Wolverine fan and I agree with this. I also think that if they played again next week, Michigan would win by double digits.
