Why did the Mets pull David Wright after four innings and just two at-bats?
Unless that's specifically what Wright wanted, it's unbelievably disrespectful to him and to his fans. The Mets are a joke of an organization. It's not like the game had any other meaning.

I'm sure they talked about it with him and he was on board but to then not tell the fans the plan was cheap and petty.

Ok talking out of both sides of your mouth guy
I think Yelich has it wrapped up. But there's been a few taking heads saying it's Baez's to lose because of his defense. The post I quoted said it was "fixed" if Yelich didn't win it. I merely stated that he would get some votes, and that those votes would be warranted. I wouldn't be shocked if that tally ends up giving it to Baez. Sorry if having a nuanced opinion offends you

You basically agreed with me but because I used word may you found it laughable.

Only 2 RBIs away for Yelich to win the NL triple crown, last done in 1937.
Who woulda thunk they'd score 11 runs today but no RBI for Yellich?  Counsel just took him out to allow the home crowd to give him an ovation.

Looks like he'll be 1st in BA (first time in a very long time for the Brewers); 2nd in RBI and HR.

He's got one more game to do it now

I think that was a #### move by Gardenhire, down 4 runs in the 7th and walking Yelich with runners on 2nd and 3rd to pitch to Braun. You are playing for nothing. Total **** move
Nothing wrong with it. He managed game 162 like he would have managed game 1.

seems mean

After a slow April, they still played .500 ball with 4 of their top 5 contributors from 2017 either sucking (Dozier) or being non existent (Sano / Santana / Buxton)
The new manager will only be the Twins' fourth since 1986.  Mollie definitely got a shorter leash than Kelly or Gardenhire but he was a holdover from the old Terry Ryan regime.  I assume Falvey and Levine want their own guy in the dugout.

It looks like a pretty good job.  Minnesota was only 8 games under .500, play in a weak division, have some young talent and a lot of money coming off the books.  Sano and Buxton are obvious bounce back candidates.

I think the lack of development for Buxton and Sano may have been a big part of the move.

I think that's more on the organization than Molitor.  Both effectively skipped AAA on their way to the show.  I don't know how much that would have helped though.  They're flawed talents who no longer project as stars.  They should be capable of holding down a MLB job and it'll be up to the new guy to get that out of them.

Probably true.  Kinda crazy to think now that the two managers from last year's AL Wildcard game are both out of jobs and the guy that called it for ESPN is now the replacement (with no previous managing experience to boot).  Looks like every place is trying to go with a young manager.

What's the word on Bochy in SF?

Bochy wants to come back for 2019 and there's no reason to believe he won't.  He's accomplished enough with the club to leave on his own terms.

There will be a new GM, presumably from outside the organization.  The club is in payroll purgatory for at least the next two years.  We'll see if they're ready to accept the reality of their current situation.
