Not surprising, but Buck's out in Baltimore.
He's 62 and may not get another gig since old school guys like Buck seem to be out of fashion. Not surprising, but Buck's out in Baltimore.
Baseball is cyclical. Once a few of these young/no experience guys fail, their teams will be looking for someone with a proven track record. I cant imagine anyone holds Buck responsible for the disaster in Baltimore this season. He's 62 and may not get another gig since old school guys like Buck seem to be out of fashion.
If his career is over, he'll leave the game #24 on the all-time list for career wins. The O's disastrous season dropped him from top 50 in career games over .500 to outside the top 100.
actually surprised he's only 62. Seems like he's been managing for 100 years. He's 62 and may not get another gig since old school guys like Buck seem to be out of fashion.

No kidding. He seemed like he'd been around forever when he appeared on Seinfeld with the Yankees.actually surprised he's only 62. Seems like he's been managing for 100 years.
Sparky Anderson and Tommy Lasorda were still managing when Showalter was hired by the Yankees in 1992.No kidding. He seemed like he'd been around forever when he appeared on Seinfeld with the Yankees.actually surprised he's only 62. Seems like he's been managing for 100 years.
[New York Baseball Fan] False, I’m excited to see what Jeter & company are going to do in these playoffs! Haven’t missed a game all year!! [/New York Baseball Fan]E-Z Glider said:Safe to say we’re all A’s fans right now, right?
They talked about this on local radio today. There's some stupid MLB rule where they have to wear uniforms that they "generally wear during the season" and these were chosen. We may see the pinstripes but doubtfulWhy are the brewers not wearing their amazing throwbacks and instead these hideous jerseys?
Ugh. It wouldn’t be so bad if these weren’t so terrible. They talked about this on local radio today. There's some stupid MLB rule where they have to wear uniforms that they "generally wear during the season" and these were chosen. We may see the pinstripes but doubtful![]()
But yeah "generally" Friday home games were the old school unis.
It's stupid.I feel every single playoff game is on a completely different channel. Tomorrow the food network gets a game.
This is Day 4. Playoff games have been on ESPN, mlb network, fs1, TBS, I think tnt for a few innings and you know big fox will be showing some. That’s lunacy. It's stupid.
For those who believe the playoffs rent space in his head, that line almost seems too good to be true.Current odds
Price vs Yankees in Playoffs -120
Real World Odds
Price vs Yankees in Playoffs +430
Great baseball going on all over the TV for 12 hours yesterday and we're complaining about four games being on two different channels? Yeesh.
Talk remote is $$$$$![]()
Takes me 3 clicks of my comcast remote to find the game.
He is the absolute worse, at least Cora got him out of there before Judge jacked another one off of him. He shouldn’t get another start.Price should just retire. Guy has no heart and is just a joke and insult to anyone who plays sports. And this coming from a yankee fan.
He got the final outs in the 2008 ALCS which in hindsight is pretty amazing.Price should just retire. Guy has no heart and is just a joke and insult to anyone who plays sports. And this coming from a yankee fan.
538 has an update on this story, and some interesting stats, comments. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/baseballs-top-staffs-have-come-around-on-the-high-spin-fastball/So in the first inning of his last start, Trevor Bauer used a substance (pine tar?) and posted all the highest spin rates of his career![]()

I want to, but then I see Ryan Braun.Congratulations to the Brewers for sweeping Colorado. Hard to root against this squad.

OMG please take it to Dave Roberts.Hilts said:Congratulations to the Brewers for sweeping Colorado. Hard to root against this squad.
It happenedExciting playoffs thus far. Division winners going 12 - 2. Too lazy to add up run differentials but most games were yawners.
FYPPrice should just retire. Severino, Fatbathia, and all the overpriced and overrated Yankees hitters (especially Stanton) should just retire. Guys have no heart and are just a joke and insult to anyone who plays sports.
