2018 MLB Regular Season Thread! Current thread batting average: .420 (1 Viewer)

Not surprising, but Buck's out in Baltimore.
He's 62 and may not get another gig since old school guys like Buck seem to be out of fashion.

If his career is over, he'll leave the game #24 on the all-time list for career wins.  The O's disastrous season dropped him from top 50 in career games over .500 to outside the top 100.

Baseball is cyclical. Once a few of these young/no experience guys fail, their teams will be looking for someone with a proven track record. I cant imagine anyone holds Buck responsible for the disaster in Baltimore this season.

actually surprised he's only 62.  Seems like he's been managing for 100 years.

Safe to say we’re all A’s fans right now, right?
[New York Baseball Fan] False, I’m excited to see what Jeter & company are going to do in these playoffs! Haven’t missed a game all year!! [/New York Baseball Fan]

Why are the brewers not wearing their amazing throwbacks and instead these hideous jerseys?
They talked about this on local radio today. There's some stupid MLB rule where they have to wear uniforms that they "generally wear during the season" and these were chosen. We may see the pinstripes but doubtful

But yeah "generally" Friday home games were the old school unis.

Ugh. It wouldn’t be so bad if these weren’t so terrible.

Haven't seen one person wearing one of these caps during crowd shots.

I feel every single playoff game is on a completely different channel. Tomorrow the food network gets a game.

Current odds

Price vs Yankees in Playoffs -120

Real World Odds

Price vs Yankees in Playoffs +430

Great baseball going on all over the TV for 12 hours yesterday and we're complaining about four games being on two different channels? Yeesh.

Price should just retire. Guy has no heart and is just a joke and insult to anyone who plays sports. And this coming from a yankee fan.
He is the absolute worse, at least Cora got him out of there before Judge jacked another one off of him. He shouldn’t get another start.

I don't think Dave Roberts started Bellinger vs a LHP over the last 3-4 weeks of the season, so of course he throws him out there today vs one in the postseason.

So in the first inning of his last start, Trevor Bauer used a substance (pine tar?) and posted all the highest spin rates of his career

538 has an update on this story, and some interesting stats, comments.  https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/baseballs-top-staffs-have-come-around-on-the-high-spin-fastball/

Price should just retire. Severino, Fatbathia, and all the overpriced and overrated Yankees hitters (especially Stanton) should just retire. Guys have no heart and are just a joke and insult to anyone who plays sports.
FYP

Better sign every FA SP if you want to compete with the good teams.
