First round playoff meltdown, IMO.106 points for the Bolts after 67 games. Kuch with a 108 points. What a freaking season.

I still get goosebumps when I remember the Capitals' 121-point 2009 season, when they earned the right to hoist their first Presidents Trophy banner.Capella said:106 points for the Bolts after 67 games. Kuch with a 108 points. What a freaking season.
Such mixed feeling about that. Love that they pay tribute to the history of the franchise, and it's great to see one of the best and most iconic sweaters back on ice.bicycle_seat_sniffer said:Also I saw Carolina wearing the Whalers jerseys tonight?
Sucks for relocation...especially when they basically wipe out the whalers logo n sweater from existance....does karmanos still own the hurricanes??? He has a local jr hockey or minor hockey team and they are called the plymouth whalersSuch mixed feeling about that. But for a lot of fans in CT, that has to be a real kick in the gut. Some wounds don't heal that easy.
I think the kick is a little south of the gut.....Such mixed feeling about that. Love that they pay tribute to the history of the franchise, and it's great to see one of the best and most iconic sweaters back on ice.

It was a kick in the gut earlier in the year, but now the sting has lessened a bit. It's just to sell sweaters. What can one do?Such mixed feeling about that. Love that they pay tribute to the history of the franchise, and it's great to see one of the best and most iconic sweaters back on ice.

Thomas Dundon, per a quick Google search, is the majority owner. Karmanos is the minority owner.Sucks for relocation...especially when they basically wipe out the whalers logo n sweater from existance....does karmanos still own the hurricanes??? Flipped on the game last night as the Flyers were scoring their first. "Oh," I thought, "I'll just sit down and watch this..."Still cautiously optimistic that the Caps are continuing to flip that switch - won 5 straight and 7 of 8, but their schedule gets a lot tougher over the next couple weeks.
With the win last night, Holtby became the second fastest goalie in NHL history to reach 250 wins, doing it in 409 games played, behind only Ken Dryden's 381. Jacques Plante is next at 430. That's a pretty respectable list to be on.
Holtby also has a big new article in the Players Tribune, which is pretty entertaining.
Good insight - Osgood is #4 on that list of fastest to 250 wins, at 450 games (Andy Moog and Ryan Miller are tied at 5th, with 455 games). He's just another Chris Osgood
It was just a joke based on the good teams comment made by rockaction. I think Holtby was better than Osgood as well.Good insight - Osgood is #4 on that list of fastest to 250 wins, at 450 games (Andy Moog and Ryan Miller are tied at 5th, with 455 games).
But I think Holtby is significantly better. Already won a Vezina, and a 4-time All-Star in 9 years, compared to Osgood's 2 in 13 years. Holtby is 15th on the all-time regular season save % list and 3rd all-time in post-season, compared to 72nd and 33rd for Osgood.
Make sure you @ me with these type of posts so I can give you your like.I don't recall seeing a team so dominant as the Lightning in a looooong time.
Not yet in the same breath as the dominance that the 29-30/71-72 Bruins, 83-84-85 Oilers, or 43-44/76-77 Habs showed, but hard not to be impressed.
Their first three lines are incredible, and even their 4th line has stepped up.
Their defensive lines are fantastic defensively, but have been pouring on goals too.
Both of their PP units are great, and in addition to Vasilevkiy being arguably one of best goalies this year, Domingue has been standing on his head too.
Scary good, top to bottom.
Going to be interesting what happens to the President Trophy locks. There's history of dominant teams like this skating into the finals, and also history of first round exits of similar teams. Either way, no one is looking forward to squaring off against this team in the post season I'm sure.
Deal, on the condition that I'm receiving Leafs reach-arounds.Make sure you @ me with these type of posts so I can give you your like.
That wasn't a tank job. That was a special kind of bad luck and undisciplined play.Special kind of last second tank job by the ducks last night.
What scares me us they haven't really slumped at all this season. Hope that doesn't mean a playoff collapse.I don't recall seeing a team so dominant as the Lightning in a looooong time.

That whole Central division will be interesting to watch these last ~14 games or so in terms of seeding and wildcard implications.Another impressive performance from the Wild tonight.![]()
@PredsOnFSTN: WAYNE TRAINSimmons just crushed Da Haan, no response. It should be go time. I hate having no stand up guys playing. You get physical with the Canes, they wilt.
Great hit but he actually let off. He didn't run him all the way against the boards.@PredsOnFSTN: WAYNE TRAINhttps://twitter.com/PredsOnFSTN/status/1104555474358173696/photo/1
Yeah he kind of spins him but he definitely pulls up before the boards.Great hit but he actually let off. He didn't run him all the way against the boards.
Seems like he just helped De Haan's momentum do the work.Yeah he kind of spins him but he definitely pulls up before the boards.
I love the clips BTW of the hits. Not just Canes games either, all of them.@PredsOnFSTN: WAYNE TRAINhttps://twitter.com/PredsOnFSTN/status/1104555474358173696/photo/1
