We also had a walk off OT CFP championship...likely the best ending to the season in history.I’d argue 3, Bama/Clemson 1 and 2, then OU/UGA. The point remains.
Just looked it up; he won 41 straight games in high school, did not lose as a starter. So maybe you have to go back to 8th grade? (Or before that.)High school?
Saw the same but it’s wrong. Won 41 before losing in the playoffs his senior year of HS. So more recent than many believe.Just looked it up; he won 41 straight games in high school, did not lose as a starter. So maybe you have to go back to 8th grade? (Or before that.)
Thanks for the correction.Saw the same but it’s wrong. Won 41 before losing in the playoffs his senior year of HS. So more recent than many believe.
Cmon...the only ‘eye test’ selection of Bama was ‘17, when they won. By far the least worthy selections have been based on Conf Champs. This is the right answer. That way the Capellas of the world get their "eye test" Alabama in every year and the rest of us get our "results on the field" champs and small school dreamers in every year. Also, quarters should be on campus of the top 4 conference champs.
nope. 8 teams is the future. Maybe more once the NCAA and sponsors see how much more money playoff games will generate.Oh come on.....can we get one competitive semifinal game ever? Having so many blowouts routinely in the final four shows 4 teams is plenty. Most years only two teams deserve the title shot and now at least we get the semifinals to show people that's the case.
Again, the 4th seed has won the title 40% of the time. It's not #1 and #2 always blowing out #3 and #4.Oh come on.....can we get one competitive semifinal game ever? The only real argument anymore is the G5 argument from the anti-trust position. Given what we just saw with OU/LSU and so far what we've seen in this second game, adding four more teams to this won't increase the "good football" we would all get to see. We'd get even more poundings.nope. 8 teams is the future. Maybe more once the NCAA and sponsors see how much more money playoff games will generate.
. Argue over the seeding. Are we going to base the future on tonights games? again no one wants to see ND and ISU playing in whatever bowl they were in today. But for arguments sake ...The only real argument anymore is the G5 argument from the anti-trust position. Capella represents a very legit opinion in this thread: put in the best "other" team every year.Cmon...the only ‘eye test’ selection of Bama was ‘17, when they won. By far the least worthy selections have been based on Conf Champs.
no way. A lot of conferences are garbage. They don't deserve to make playoffs because they won their trash conference.Win the conference championship... go to the playoffs.. Argue over the seeding.
Actually, yes, they do.no way. A lot of conferences are garbage. They don't deserve to make playoffs because they won their trash conference.
You’d need to exclude Wisconsin for Memphis though as a G5. My biggest gripe would be Baylor, Georgia, and Oregon all lost twice. I like 4 teams because it keeps the regular season meaningful and think including those teams would cheapen the seasons had by LSU, OSU, and Clemson. Are we going to base the future on tonights games? again no one wants to see ND and ISU playing in whatever bowl they were in today. LSU vs Wisconsin
Ohio State vs Baylor
Clemson vs Oregon
Oklahoma vs Georgia
All of those games would be fun to watch.
Conferences are going to be realigned in a few years, but it still seems the right way. Let the committee argue over the seeding.no way. A lot of conferences are garbage. They don't deserve to make playoffs because they won their trash conference.
With Clemson always looking over to the sidelines to set the defense based on the look the offense gives, an opposing offense would be smart to get to the line and immediately snap a ton. I’m not sure Clemson could adjust very well.Fantastic play call on the QB sneak
This year's weak ### ACC failed to prepare Clemson to repeat.Oh hi fellas. What’s going on in here?
Apparently we are trying to fix the playoff systemOh hi fellas. What’s going on in here?
Got LSU @ 50/1 very early in preseason. OSU was the team that scares me the mostSome FBG here posted he’d take LSU v OSU for the Champ back in Sept...too lazy to find it...
We’re talking about how the Mountain-West would dominate in the playoffs.Oh hi fellas. What’s going on in here?
Oh, and Dobbins is going to be a good NFL RB. He has speed, power, can catch and understands how to setup defenders.
Sounds good...with true wild card slots regardless of conference (meaning they could both come from the same one). The eye test has proven to be a legit selection process.Capella represents a very legit opinion in this thread: put in the best "other" team every year.
Conference champs should have a shot. So should the G5. And add in 2 wild cards, it's the best option we have. The top 4 conference champs should host the quarters each year. Better than the tripe bowls we get now.
