[General Malaise]

Not a soul whining on twitter, nor in this thread could have done a better job officiating this game.  I watched about 20% of the game, but I know that for a fact.  Calling basketball is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do and I only do HS.  You have to be an expert at the rules, be in great shape, be able to know when players are faking and when they aren't, be more patient and level headed than everyone else in the arena (including players and coaches) and deal with being criticized by tons of people who could never do your job.

Okay, take it down a notch, Ed Hochuli.  Nobody in here has claimed we could do a better job.  That doesn't mean we aren't entitled to criticism.  I can't act a lick; that doesn't mean I can't pan Ishtar. 

But most of us have watched enough NBA games over the years to point out the obvious when it comes to performance, whether it be player, coach or officiating.  I assume you've NEVER been critical of the performance of a professional athlete in here, not once despite the fact that you could never sniff professional athletics as a participant?

For the same reason why Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers get “roughing the passer” calls that other, less-established QBs don’t get.

While the world class floppers like Paul are worthy of scorn, you almost can't blame the NBA players for doing it.  NBA officials fall for it more often than not, and the NBA itself does almost nothing to discourage it.  Start handing out hefty fines and suspensions for flopping (yes, suspensions for egregious ones and/or repeat offenders), and you'd see a lot less of it over time, but the NBA doesn't have the guts to do it.

Somehow the people who have reached the pinnacle of their craft are somehow the ones to blame for the problem despite ALL of them failing?  It's almost like something else could possibly be the problem.  Kind of like a woman who can't get along with any of her boyfriends, it may be time to look in the mirror.

This is the problem.  NBA officials are put in an impossible position.

That said, if they HAD wanted to foul and if the refs HADN’T immediately blown the whistle, whiny-### Paul and Booker would’ve lost their ####, too.

Bucks won last night despite playing like crap.  Yes, Middleton scored 40, and he was great in the clutch, but it took him a whopping 33 shots to do it.  Giannis played good, not great.  Jrue was ###.  They were only 7/23 from three.  And Booker was allowed at least 8 fouls.

This has to bode well going forward.  Bucks in 6.

I don’t think it matters, nor is it a conversation worth having. This is 100% subjective and significantly influenced by personal bias. The good news is that the better team has won in all 4 games this series.

Huge Bucks fan here they were terrible on both sides.  The Bucks had more questionable calls against them but that 5th foul on Booker was bad imo and a huge momentum swing in favor of the Bucks.  He was white hot at the time and wasn't the same when he came back in for the stretch run.  That was the biggest call of the game.  The 2nd was the bs foul on Tucker where he grazed Crowder's hand on the follow through and Crowder fell over as if he was a 150 pound weakling.  

Regardless we should be talking about how clutch Middleton was last night and Giannis' amazing block.  Fear the Deer!!!

Also have to credit coach Budenholzer. He got the better of Williams last night. Lopez is not effective in this series. Giving those minutes to Connaughton in the 4th qtr was a great call. Holiday needs to make shots, at least his layups, but he was fantastic on defense and controlling tempo down the stretch.

Reluctantly, I have to admit that you're right.  Also removing Forbes from the rotation.  If he's not hitting shots (which he's not), then he's not playable; he's just way too much of a liability on defense.

I agree that Jrue needs to shoot way better these next few games, but in addition to the defense, he also had 7 rebounds, including some HUGE ones towards the end of the game.

Connaughton's 11 points (including 3/7 from deep) and his 9 rebounds were huge, too.

Middleton has made 15 game-tying or go-ahead baskets in the fourth quarter or overtime of playoff games this season, tying LeBron James, who had 15 in 2007, for the most such buckets over the last 25 seasons.

Giannis/Khris only the 3rd teammates in the last 50 years to both have 40-point games in a single Finals (LeBron/Kyrie and Kareem/Magic).

The stuff these guys are doing is literally generational.
