The Pelicans can easily pull this off and it works for both teams. What good team has the assets and cap space to trade for Lillard? He's getting $195M over the next 4.

Durant will end up in the top-12 or 15 when he’s done imo.Interesting.
Since I started both watching basketball, the 1990 finals (Pistons/Blazers) is probably the only one that didn't have a player most would consider a top 20 all-time player (Isiah Thomas was great, but probably not top 20; Steph will assuredly go down as a top 20 all-timer, so I am comfortable saying 2019 had a top 20 player), and this year could be another. Depends of it the Nets make it and how high one puts Durant on the all-time list. Just fun to think about, if nothing else.
That is very possible, if he can stay healthy. Feels like his upward trajectory on the all-time list has been staggered due to not playing a lot the last two years (played 35 of a possible 137 games the last two regular seasons).Durant will end up in the top-12 or 15 when he’s done imo.
It works, but if I am the Blazers I don't want Simmons. His shooting is too much of a concern and would he even want to be there. If I trade Lillard I am tearing it all the way down and being very bad for 2 or 3 years. Not sure how close you need to be anymore but Ben Simmons makes $146m over 4 years. Ben with Maxey and a draft pick or two maybe gets it done? Just spitballing.
I don't think they're a franchise that can afford to tear it all the way down. They have 2-3 seasons of tanking and they might find the team in a new city.It works, but if I am the Blazers I don't want Simmons. I don't follow your logic here. If being bad for a few years in a small market gets you relocated then how come a third of the league hasn't been relocated?I don't think they're a franchise that can afford to tear it all the way down. I saw one that said 23 years since there will be a finals without Heat, Lakers, Spurs, or WarriorsCrazy stat per Tommy Beer:
Each of the last 30 NBA Finals series featured either:
Michael Jordan,
Hakeem Olajuwon,
Shaq O'Neal
Tim Duncan,
Kobe Bryant,
Steph Curry
or
LeBron James.
With LeBron and Steph out - the 2021 NBA Finals will be the first since 1990 not to feature at least one of those players
There's plenty of stories out there already for the last few years that they could move when the team is sold. Add in a rebuild where fans are less likely to show up to games and that could be all she wrote.I don't follow your logic here. I don't think that is the case at all. Simmons doesn't keep them in Portland. All Simmons does is take them from being a bottom 3 team to a bottom 10 team. There's plenty of stories out there already for the last few years that they could move when the team is sold. I think they need something to keep them somewhat competitive to keep the fans coming into the arena. Not saying Ben Simmons is that answer but he'd be better than bottoming out.
The thread reads like an extended temper tantrum, alone in a room. There may be a gambling addiction involved.Just checked it. That's Eminence for sure.
How is he as a coach?Lillard mentioned on the record he wants Jason Kidd.

Kidd wasn't very good in Milwaukee. Maybe he learned something. I wouldn't trust him with a young team or a team that needs that little extra to get over the top.How is he as a coach?
Anyone...
as a Bucks fan.... i.... i don't know.How is he as a coach?
Anyone...
i mean to say that he didn't really do anything. his concepts on defense were an atrocity. the team immediately got better when he left. he wasn't.... horrible? but he wasn't any good.as a Bucks fan.... i.... i don't know.
Blazers need to get much, much better on D.i mean to say that he didn't really do anything. his concepts on defense were an atrocity. the team immediately got better when he left. he wasn't.... horrible? but he wasn't any good.
YES DAMN PLEASE!!! If for no other reason than we won't have to play against him!!The Pelicans can easily pull this off and it works for both teams.
He ate us alive every time we played them this year. It wouldn't be cheap and it would probably cost a little extra because you would have to and want to attach Eric Beldsoe to the deal.YES DAMN PLEASE!!! Yep, sold! LOL if we can do it with dealing Bledsoe and keeping Lonzo, we have ourselves a contender, IMO.It wouldn't be cheap and it would probably cost a little extra because you would have to and want to attach Eric Beldsoe to the deal.
Depending on how long it would take to gel it would open a 3 to 5 year window of high level of play that could have them as a top 5 team. That is all you can ask for in today's NBA and I feel like you have that window you go for it and go all in.
It's not a secret. And it's classic Em.Just checked it. That's Eminence for sure.Dumbo Octopus said:Go check it out, some kid is losing his mind over a one minute stretch of NBA basketball the other night. Two pages of #####ing about too many points and fixed or scripted games or some ####.

No. Screw the Pels.Yep, sold! LOL if we can do it with dealing Bledsoe and keeping Lonzo, we have ourselves a contender, IMO.
Dame would be a perfect fit. We need someone who can turn it up in clutch time, and keep the ball out of Ingram's hands in those clutch moments.
Why the hate for them? I don't love or hate them, but if Lillard really is on the block this trade just makes too much sense for both sides.No. Screw the Pels.
I am not sure they could keep Ball and aquire Lillard. Understanding the cap is difficult.Yep, sold! LOL if we can do it with dealing Bledsoe and keeping Lonzo, we have ourselves a contender, IMO.

Don't hate the Pels. They just don't deserve Dame, and if Portland trades him for mid-late first round picks and cadavers the team will be gone in 3-5 years. Why the hate for them? I don't love or hate them, but if Lillard really is on the block this trade just makes too much sense for both sides.
ya im trying to figure that out.Not sure why that Lopez shot counted.
Not sure why that Lopez shot counted.
Yep, some explanations on twitter are exactly that.ya im trying to figure that out.
Maybe they called the foul with 0.1 seconds left so the clock should have technically stopped at that exact time and he could still get the continuation after that?
Definitely an odd situation i had not seen before.Yep, some explanations on twitter are exactly that.
Whistle for foul went at 0.1 seconds left, so clock stops at that point. He was in the act of shooting so basket counts if it goes in even after the whistle is blown/clock is stopped.
That’s my understanding - foul was before clock hit 0 and it was considered continuation. Lopez got very lucky.ya im trying to figure that out.

Who can offer more that would? This is all speculation anyways. Pelicans first this year is lottery and they have future Laker picks that look like they could be nice.Don't hate the Pels. No one. He needs to stay.Who can offer more that would? This is all speculation anyways. Pelicans first this year is lottery and they have future Laker picks that look like they could be nice.
He can stay, but most likely it leads the Blazers into 3 or 4 more years of 1st round and 2nd round exits at which point Lillard is 35 and won't even fetch a quarter of what he could get now.No one. He needs to stay.
Just as likely they get a better coach and a combination of new players and improved players (on their current roster). He can stay, but most likely it leads the Blazers into 3 or 4 more years of 1st round and 2nd round exits at which point Lillard is 35 and won't even fetch a quarter of what he could get now.

A) Blazers fans will take consistent playoff appearances and exits. We have no expectation of championships. But playoff and out is better than constant suckitude.Just as likely they get a better coach and a combination of new players and improved players (on their current roster).
Actually more likely imo.
Better coach? Sure. Better players? I doubt it. Portland just isn't a free agent destination. McCollum isn't going to fetch a better player in return unless you add too it. They can make some moves, but a major improvement on players isn't likely.Just as likely they get a better coach and a combination of new players and improved players (on their current roster).

A. Is fine. Sucks to have to look at it that way.A) Blazers fans will take consistent playoff appearances and exits. We have no expectation of championships. But playoff and out is better than constant suckitude.
B) Constant suckitude will lead to the team leaving Oregon soon. Don't want that.

What players? The players currently on the Blazers? They aren't getting that much better if at all. This is a veteran team, they are who they are at this stage in their career.Players do get better from year to year.
Especially with better coaching and a real defensive scheme.
Ok, you win. What players? The players currently on the Blazers? They aren't getting that much better if at all. This is a veteran team, they are who they are at this stage in their career.
Some players get worse.
Who said it was. I said this was all speculation.Ok, you win.
A real sports team isn't like a ff team.
What facook said is the most reasoned take here in the real world.
