2020-21 NBA *Playoffs* Thread: Bucks are the champs and you can take that to the bank bromigos (5 Viewers)

I would love to hear how the pitch went for "The Valley", exactly.  It's so bad.

I mean, it might fit for something like a struggling Valley of the Sun Community College, dealing with declining enrollment.  But an NBA team???  :lmao:   Cracks me up to no end.

It’s legitimately the worst jersey I’ve ever seen. The fact they are wearing it every night during their first real run in 30 years is crazy to me.

If the Clippers don't want to go fishing soon, they better match the Suns intensity.  Phoenix is suddenly outworking LA for rebounds and on offense the Clippers are settling for jumpsuits way too often.

Throw in the cheap shots he gets away with too.  He's probably my least favorite Hall of Fame level player to watch in the last 20 years or so.
Just since you posted this Chris Paul went to get the inbound pass and fell down out of bounds.  Then he took a 3 and fell down.  Neither (rightfully so) drew a whistle.  The guy is a tough watch.

I love Paul. I would take him on my team all day.
Do you sell insurance?  If so, Chris Paul is the type of guy that will attempt to defraud you.  Then yell at you before he sues.  Then leak stuff to his buddies in the media explaining his side of the story.  Then you  get to listen to how good of a guy he really is.

That's the Chris Paul basketball experience in a nutshell.

This is oddly specific.

Some player on the Suns said that when Paul came back from covid they heard him yelling at somebody before they saw him. It’s like having dad come home, if your dad sucked.

LOL Playoff PG
For as much crap as Paul George gets, he is one talented player.  Reminds me of Dirk Nowitzki mid 2000's (well before the Mavs won a title in 2011).  You see all the skills, but you're just now sure if he can be that guy.  Dirk answered all those questions and a few more.  PG shows those glimpses at times.

I wish I could. Paul is a crafty ole school PG and I ain't mad at it.

Then you answered your own question.

If consistency is an issue for a player, by default they can't be that guy.

Scottie Pippen indicates Phil Jackson is a racist.

DP: ".. By saying it was a racial move then you're calling Phil Jackson a racist..."

Pippen: "I don't have a problem with that."

DP: "Do you think Phil was?"

Pippen: "Oh yeah..."

Exchange with Scottie Pippen on Phil's decision to have Kukoc take final shot against the Knicks.

Dan Patrick show
Now imagine a world where you fought against racism. Nothing I hate more than when the majority calls out the minority and they haven't done any work. If you had done any work, this wouldn't bother you.

Go work on yourself.

Ty Lue is becoming one great coach.  95% of teams would have packed it in losing their superstar and starting center.  He wouldn't let them.  He makes terrific adjustments and lets his team play loose.  They play hard.  Huge fan.

Time for another round of fun with a specific combination of stats.

Paul George is the first player in NBA history to have at least 40 points, 13 rebounds and six assists while shooting at least 75% from the field in a postseason game, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

he is 100% outcoaching Williams.

Was thinking the same.

They lost their starting (Ibaka) and backup center.

Yet another series where a Morris twin makes a miraculous recovery from injury while the other twin watches from the sideline.

In episode 7 of my NBA Conspiracies podcast, titled “Parent Trap”, Yo Mama will take an in depth look into yet another unsolved mystery in the league . . .

Paul George does have 20 points in the first 18 playoff games this year.  Jordan did that 3 times, Durant twice, and Kobe once.  Now PG is added to that list.  That's fairly consistent, with good defense to boot.  ??

Dirk wasn't exactly the poster boy for post season consistency either.
Exactly.  Not saying PG will lead the Clippers to a title this season, but I wondered if Dirk could do it for years too.  His game continued to develop, the Mavs struck gold, and Nowitzki moved up on the all-time list 10-15 spots.

The NBA would be unwatchable if every player did the stuff Chris Paul does on the court on a regular basis.  Hall of Fame flopper.
If the Bucks and Suns make it to the finals, the Bucks will have run the gauntlet of the league's best floppers:

Harden

Trae

Chris Paul

Bucks by 15+ tonight.  Even if Trae plays (which I expect he will), I can't imagine he'll be anywhere near 100% with that ankle.  Unless Huerter or Bogdanovic goes off for 30+ tonight, it's a wrap, and they'll close the door on Thursday in Milwaukee.
