Have you met me? Yeah it was. Obama was a pretty face on terrible policies that all of the sudden people hate because rodeo clown Trump does them. At least be intellectually honest. Was this meant to be an insult? lol

They dont have 1/10 of his credibility on the issues. He won't win the young AA vote when they now have much younger options with the same policies. That's the problem he's going to face this time around. The crazy old guy with balloon-static hair and fresh ideas is now just the crazy old guy with balloon-static hair. There are many options who are left of center.
Never said Hillary was a great candidate or ran a great campaign. All that I said still stands though. Hopefully, he (and you) learned from what happened in 2016.To out it bluntly bull####. Hillary cost Hillary the election. That's whose to blame full stop. She thought people owed her and she campaigned like it. Even her slogan "I'm with her" how about her being with us instead? How about not saying screw blue collar Democrats we'll win suburban Republicans? Hiw did that work out? Oh yeah the blue collar Democrats said screw her then and the Republicans voted Republican.
Obama was an above average president who now looks like the greatest president in US history when compared to his predecessor. Beto would GLADLY take people thinking he's another Obama.Have you met me? Yeah it was. Nice low bar there.Obama was an above average president who now looks like the greatest president in US history when compared to his predecessor. Beto would GLADLY take people thinking he's another Obama.
I think we both learned we have to work twice as hard. Was that the lesson you meant?Never said Hillary was a great candidate or ran a great campaign. All that I said still stands though. Hopefully, he (and you) learned from what happened in 2016.
I don't care which democratic candidate gets the current guy out of office, but saying he's like Obama will likely help any candidate win. You realize that Obama could have ran a thiurd term and won just as decidedly, right? The only reason Donald Trump isn't still bankrupting casinos and banging porn stars is because Obama couldn't run any more.Nice low bar there.
Actually its because the DNC did everything in its power to put its thumb on in the scale for the most disliked candidate they have ever run in history. It didn't help that they and Hillary went out of their way to make Trump the nominee because "they could beat him". Classic misreading of the room along with a huge side of hubris.I don't care which democratic candidate gets the current guy out of office, but saying he's like Obama will likely help any candidate win. Always worth diving into the details of the poll because those numbers appear to be heavily skewed towards older voters' preferences. The columns for ages 18-34 and 34-49 are both empty due to insufficient sample size.Sinn Fein said:New CNN poll
Biden 28%
Bernei 20%
Harris 12%
O'Rourke 11%

I'm sure it was unintentional and no one even for a moment took into consideration how well Bernie does in those age groups when putting together the poll.Always worth diving into the details of the poll because those numbers appear to be heavily skewed towards older voters' preferences. No, he didn't.I said it as soon as he announced. Actually before. Sanders cost the Dems the election last time. And he's doing the exact same thing already. Starting to think he's on Trump's payroll.
Is your excuse loaded and ready for if Bernie gets knocked out this time, too? Or might you possibly lose with grace and still support the party?Actually its because the DNC did everything in its power to put its thumb on in the scale for the most disliked candidate they have ever run in history. I support many Democrats. The ones that aren't bought specifically. But I don't play team politics or lesser evil. Lesser evil is still evil and it got us Trump. So just because you put a D besides someone's name doesn't mean I will support them. What are their policies? Do they spend all their time raising money from big donors/corporations? What does their actual record show? Those answers mean way more to me than some letter. Is your excuse loaded and ready for if Bernie gets knocked out this time, too? Problem is, you and your Bernie cult are still bitter about 2016 and will undoubtedly never admit that he lost fairly and squarely when it happens in 2020. I can just tell by the tone of his supporters. This is the revenge tour.I support many Democrats. The ones that aren't bought specifically. But I don't play team politics or lesser evil. As for Bernie losing. If he does fairly that's fine. If they cheat again and remember they admitted in court they did and said ti was their right to do so then not so fine.
"Misreading of the room" = thinking Bernie had a shot in a general election.Actually its because the DNC did everything in its power to put its thumb on in the scale for the most disliked candidate they have ever run in history. This and I urge highly principled gb NCC to do the same. The Dem machine may be sneaky and dirty sometimes but nothing is more important than beating Trump and that's gonna take all of us.I will be thrilled to vote for any of the Democratic candidates in the general election, whether it's Bernie, Biden, Beto, or anyone else.
Is this the same room where Donald Trump won the Presidency? That guy was an even bigger longshot."Misreading of the room" = thinking Bernie had a shot in a general election.
Exit polling says he would have"Misreading of the room" = thinking Bernie had a shot in a general election.
You misspelled Hillary."Misreading of the room" = thinking Bernie had a shot in a general election.
Please dont generalize about me. I do the research, I look at the evidence and I make my own decisions. I decide what I think. Not some party, not some newscast, YouTube channel or poster on the interwebs. Yes there are more important things than that. There is our very democracy. It is being sold to the highest bidders and many Democrats have their hands out as well. Trump is bad. But he isn't the disease he's a symptom. This and I urge highly principled gb NCC to do the same. If it's trump vs harris or Biden, you're sitting it out?Yes there are more important things than that. There is our very democracy. It is being sold to the highest bidders and many Democrats have their hands out as well. Trump is bad. But he isn't the disease he's a symptom.
Sure. Bernie also won lots of theoretical matchups in various state polls.Exit polling says he would have"Misreading of the room" = thinking Bernie had a shot in a general election.
I get myself in hot water pretty much daily around here for being combative about ideas for advancing democracy and I hope I have been appropriately critical of the party machine in the process. But we have an existential problem facing us right now that has to be dealt with first.Yes there are more important things than that. There is our very democracy. Of those two today I would be less likely to sit out on Harris. See this is complicated. How do we look in the Senate races? How do we look congressionally? I'm actually far more worried about state and local races this cycle due to 2020 being map draw year. I actually put quite a bit of thought into this and what all the variables add up to.If it's trump vs harris or Biden, you're sitting it out?
I don’t have a problem with people not liking how some Bernie supporters reacted because I agree with that but 1. Don’t put that on Bernie - he did as much or more than previous runners-up. 2. Don’t act like that was most Bernie supporters - it wasn’t. And most importantly 3. Stop acting like THAT is the reason Hillary lost - it’s bull####. It’s on the list but is so far down that it’s silly. Bernie has said repeatedly that defeating Trump is the goal.I had no problem with Bernie or his supporters in 2016, though he wasn’t my choice. I had a big problem with some of his supporters after the nomination was over, for reasons that have been discussed many times in this sub forum.
Will I have a problem with them again? Depends. Bernie is not going to be the nominee because he doesn’t have enough black support, among other reasons. So when he loses, are his core supporters going to whine that they were cheated again? If so, I guess the answer will be yes.
Then win the Senate and hold the Congress. Win your statehouse and governor. Elect people that want to roll back the imperial presidency while everyone hates the guy in there. He can't do anything without all those other things.I get myself in hot water pretty much daily around here for being combative about ideas for advancing democracy and I hope I have been appropriately critical of the party machine in the process. But we have an existential problem facing us right now that has to be dealt with first.
Who won't release the data? Beto sure hasBeto is another Obama. His actual record doesn't match his rhetoric. Oh and why won't he release his fund raising data? I'll give you two guesses first doesn't count.
He hadn't as of yesterday. Oh he released a total. But not how many donors, average donation amount or any of that. And that's the important stuff.Who won't release the data? Beto sure has
This is sort of bypassing some of the problems we are currently having in American democracy. A party representing 30% of the electorate can control the Senate. Congressional districts are gerrymandered to the nth degree. State legislative districts (you of all people should know this) are often drawn up in the most unfair method to the most people. Then win the Senate and hold the Congress. Win your statehouse and governor. Elect people that want to roll back the imperial presidency while everyone hates the guy in there. He can't do anything without all those other things.
Yeah, my guess is that it's because Beto exceeded expectations and topped Bernie's first-day fundraising, and he was manipulating the timing of the release in order to get more coverage.Who won't release the data? Beto sure hasBeto is another Obama. His actual record doesn't match his rhetoric. Oh and why won't he release his fund raising data? I'll give you two guesses first doesn't count.
Bingo! This is how the entire party should be thinking. As well as the candidates.I will be thrilled to vote for any of the Democratic candidates in the general election, whether it's Bernie, Biden, Beto, or anyone else.
This doesn’t jive with you constantly slamming Bernie - but you want the Bernie folks to fall in line. At least Gunz comes out and says Bernie shouldn’t even be running as a Democrat. The only reason people can even say the garbage they do about Bernie fans falling in line is because of the Orange man. I hate that going against Trump limits some true debate. But I’m in agreement number one goal has to be to get rid of him.I don't care which democratic candidate gets the current guy out of office,
He has released all that info. 128,000 unique donors with an average donation of 47 dollars. He hadn't as of yesterday. Oh he released a total. But not how many donors, average donation amount or any of that. And that's the important stuff.
Seems like maybe you should dial back the Bernie bashing if you feel that way.Bingo! This is how the entire party should be thinking. As well as the candidates.
And you doing you got us Trump. Thanks a lotPlease dont generalize about me. I do the research, I look at the evidence and I make my own decisions. I decide what I think. Not some party, not some newscast, YouTube channel or poster on the interwebs. Just me doing me.
Those are factors in consideration of who to vote for in the primary. My hypothetical is the general election, those things aren't really a concern at the point your choice is down to trump or the dem candidate. Unless you're suggesting trump would be a more favorable choice to further the dem agenda in all those other areas. I don't think i could buy that, but it might be interesting to see your case for that notion.Of those two today I would be less likely to sit out on Harris. See this is complicated. How do we look in the Senate races? How do we look congressionally? I'm actually far more worried about state and local races this cycle due to 2020 being map draw year. No its not that he waited days to announce when everyone else did in basically real time. It's not the he initially announced raising 5000 in 2 hours and then said he wouldnt announce at all. No the only reason not to give specifics is because unlike Bernie, Kamala or even Warren with small donors providing the money, it's because it's big money bundlers doing the heavy lifting. Hey maybe I'll be proven wrong . Well see at some point.Yeah, my guess is that it's because Beto exceeded expectations and topped Bernie's first-day fundraising, and he was manipulating the timing of the release in order to get more coverage.
Since my first guess doesn't count, I guess I'm stumped.
Do you think that stuff will be significantly different from the fundraising for his Senate bid, which took zero from PACs and focused on small donors? (Link.)He hadn't as of yesterday. Oh he released a total. But not how many donors, average donation amount or any of that. And that's the important stuff.
Yes. This. It's the liberals who are bitter losers and decide they're taking their ball and going home who will give us four more years of Trump. It's almost like one particular candidate's fanclub is saying it better be our guy or we're not helping. 2016 flashbacks.I don't get all the vitriol. Let them all run, vote for who you like, support the nominee, whoever it is. No need to get all angy about it. The future is liberal. It always has been in the long run. It's ok if it all doesn't happen overnight, keep making steady progress.
Until NCC showed up with double barrels (which has me ) nobody was doing what Junior is harping on. If anybody sounds bitter it’s him - HILLARY ####### BLEW IT. It’s ok to admit it.I don't get all the vitriol. Let them all run, vote for who you like, support the nominee, whoever it is. No need to get all angy about it. The future is liberal. It always has been in the long run. It's ok if it all doesn't happen overnight, keep making steady progress.
He has already promised to not take money from corporations or PACs.Do you think that stuff will be significantly different from the fundraising for his Senate bid, which took zero from PACs and focused on small donors? (Link.)
It could be, but I think we should wait for evidence before concluding as much. Making assumptions before data from Beto's campaign was released has already bitten people once.
Which candidates are taking money from corporations? He has already promised to not take money from corporations or PACs.
And the data is available already.
It's not like that at all. It's a false narrative that you keep repeating with little evidence to support it. And by doing so you are engaging in exactly the same kind of activity you're complaining about.Yes. This. It's the liberals who are bitter losers and decide they're taking their ball and going home who will give us four more years of Trump. It's almost like one particular candidate's fanclub is saying it better be our guy or we're not helping. 2016 flashbacks.
And you have.the nerve to take Bernie backers to task. Trump won my state decisively by over 200k votes. I didn't vote for Johnson either but even if those votes all went to Hillary, they wouldn't, she would've lost. So no I didn't so anything. A few hundred thousand people in the rust belt gave you Trump. And you doing you got us Trump. Thanks a lot
Don't know. I do know the DNC rejected a ban on corporate PACs so there is still that option for anyone who hasn't explicity said otherwise.Which candidates are taking money from corporations?
