No one really cares about TV ratings anymore. it's something for networks to boast about but many streaming services have made TV ratings not as relevant.

Most are only watching games do to sports betting becoming legal in most states and being popular. Take away the legal betting and I bet you see ratings drop big time.
Uhhhhhh the nba, the networks and the advertisers most definitely care about tv ratings I can assure you of that.

You would be singing a different tune if Lamelo was on your team. It’s becoming must watch TV for me to see what type of 🙂 he’s going to try next.  I get to enjoy that for two more years before the Lakers and friends claim their finished product.

So what? Take away fantasy football, and the NFL ratings drop big time.

Do you anticipate legalized betting going away anytime soon?

Kobe must be rolling in his grave seeing what Buss and LeFlop have done to his lakers. They are literally the AARP unite of the NBA.

The Nuggets just had their best and maybe most important win of the season tonight. With the trade for Forbes, they finally have a good excuse to bench Facu and run Bones at point. They are rolling right now and have one of the easier and home centric schedules for the rest of the year. If they get Murray and MPJ back and up to speed prior to the playoffs (big if for Porter, a reasonable but optimistic ask for Murray), they'll be a legit title contender.

Interesting bit of trivia: Bradley Beal’s 3-point percentage this season is exactly the same as Ben Simmons’ from last season.

It's alarming that the Wiz are better off building around Kyle Kuzma than Bradley Beal.

And as much as I'm meh on Simmons, he's what they could use.  Passing. Defends.  Rebounds.  Organizes.  They can find the scoring elsewhere

Trade deadline one week away. Any predictions?
slow. the next wave in NBA wheelin'-dealin' will be shopping players up for 2nd contracts, but GMs are hidebound and you-go-first and it will take em a while to determine what actually is value there. i'd love to see Cle get a real 2-guard (Beal, McCollum) and think the Mavs gotsta to do sumn, but i dont see much happening.

I enjoy the minor moves too. For example, Celtics will trade to get out of the tax, right?

Maaaacus Smaaaat said goodbye to his team last wk, but he's been the dood in their win streak since, so i dunno. I've been a lone voice against Greenteamers since the Jersey trade that Traitor Danny's moves always had eyes on saving owners' money, so you might be right. that would be the only motive to get rid of Stainhead, cuz they only have Smaaaat & 8Mile @ PG if he goes and Maaaacus always misses 3 wks after the ASB, but just losing him would get them under

I don't see any big movement. You might see a player or two who are hanging on by name recognition contracts being moved but I doubt we see Simmons or anyone like that moved. Sabonis, Turner Grant I can see 2 of the 3 traded not all 3.

I think with Simmons Morey doesn't do a thing because he's still asking for too much and reports are teams who'd be interested in swapping any sort of talent want Maxey or a thybule in the deal plus picks. I think Simmons is traded in the Summer for Harden and I think that's a terrible trade for both. Swapping malcontents never works in the long run and surely given how many in the league are already upset and would demand an investigation on tampering by both teams is it worth it?

I could see more movement with buyouts and such over players being dealt.

It seemed that he and Lillard were 100% off of the table.

From how I read things Beal isn't untraceable but WAS would have to be blown away with an Offer. I think for the Sixers to get it done they'd have to trade Simmons, multiple 1s and both Thybule and Maxey. At least if I'm WAS that's the starting price.

This really helps the ole trade value Simmons. He DM"d Shaq and told him he was upset with what Shaq said about him last week. Tried using the "we're LSU Brothers" line. Uh Ben LSU fans and alumni have disowned you since you left college. When he left the SEC boards I go to the LSU supporters and alumni and current students were all saying good riddance. You have a cup of coffee with LSU. Ben and his agency is so tone deaf is just embarrassing at this point. Rich Paul and Clutch are nobodies without LeFlop.

Former LSU Player Big Baby (No not that one) slides into Shaq's DMs to complain about Shaq criticizing a former LSU player.

And I know everyone thinks I just love ####ting on the 76ers constantly (I mean to an extent it is fun getting ridiculed yrs ago and turning up right) but I got to commend Joel Embiid. Dude was pretty entitled coming into the league. For the most part he's really matured. Called out Ben after the playoff game is some real leadership right there. When asked earlier in the week about Shaq's comments and how Shaq would criticize Joel himself, Embiid flat-out said Shaq was right on him early on.

Now that's a player who takes accountability.

They should trade Simmons to whomever will take him by himself, or a 3-team trade that involves Harris if PF is the best piece you can get back (I like Harris personally though).  So if you can get Levert, Grant, Collins, or Ingram without having to add Maxey or Thybulle, then just do it.  Harden is a pipedream and waiting until the off-season is a waste.

I would rather keep Harris so there is limited disruption and just adding a weapon to the starting 5.

Yeah I see too many Sixers fans still day dreaming. If Philly wanted an all star Ben should've been traded when they went for Leonard a few yrs back.

I also think waiting till the Summer yeah you are driving a hard stance you won't let a player hold the organization hostage but at the same time it gives off the impression you also don't care about how you are wasting Embiid's MVP season.

I'm interested to see what the Cavs do with Rubio. That's a $17m expiring on an injured player and Cleveland isn't exactly a hot FA destination so this would be a good chance to get a nice piece to go with what they already have going.

The Wolves have also have a couple expiring vets in Pat Bev ($14m) and Taurean Prince ($13m) they could do something with. Beverley has essentially been a one man cultural shift so I can see them holding (and trying to resign) him, but I hope they do something with Prince (and Okogie and Layman who are both in their final year at $4m each).  Those three get you into Myles Turner salary range, but I wonder what the rest of the cost would be.

Brogdon would be perfect for them if he got healthy. Neither Beverly nor DAR are point guards but take up lots of space & ball. MB could guard the 2, make sure Ant & Kat get the ball where/when theyre supposed to and otherwise stay out da way.

Beal is not re-signing next year with them, and they shouldn't want to re-sign him for the supermax anyway.  But they will treat him well if they trade him now, and will send him to a playoff team.  He's been a good player for the team and the city.

I mean Simmons is the easy trade, but I doubt they'll move Beal for Simmons even up so PHI is gonna have to add to the deal.  I don;';t think Simmons contract is that bad.  It's high, but it solves the problem at PG for 3 years.  And helps out guys like Avdija, Rui, and Kuzma to have a real PG.   I think even Tommy Shepard can see this team isn't getting there with Beal as the #1 option.  He's a great #2 though in PHI or elsewhere.

I think Beal would be a good fit in DEN, UTAH, DAL, and PHI. and maybe even LAL.  But I have no idea how a trade would work with anyone other than PHI.

Brogdon can't be traded because of his new extension.

Simmons and Harris for Beal, Dinwiddie, and Bertans.

Its not the contract it's how bad Simmons is as a person/player. He just doesn't have the trade value to warrant such a player that PHI has to trade other assets to make Simmons appealing. I think the Sixers at first wanting another star was reasonable on their standpoint but as time goes on they need to lower the expectations. Get a guy or two in there who can help them win.

If they made that deal—most likely a third team would have to get involved to take Dinwiddie. My understanding is that Beal and Dinwiddie do not see eye to eye—and I don’t think Phili would want to land Beal only to instantly create a toxic situation for him.

Dinwiddie and Beal definitely do not see eye to eye.  I'm not so sure the Wiz should move Dinwiddie.  He started the year strong, and he's in year 1 back from an ACL.  I think the downslide has coincided with Beal and Dinwiddie not getting along.  Problem is, if you trade for Simmons, Dinwiddie isn't very useful.

I'm not even so sure they shouldn't play Avdija at PG anyway.  He's essentially a poor mans Simmons already.  Good passer, rebounder, defender, nice vision, and neither of them can shoot or finish at the rim.  When Avdija has the ball in hand things happen, when he doesn't he stands in a corner and becomes a statue.  I don't think Unseld realizes what he has in Deni (nor Rui or Bryant for that matter).  No Deni is not a future all-star.  But he's a solid starter and needs the ball in hand much more.  Getting rid of Beal would go a long way to improve the likes of Deni, Rui, KCP, and even Bertans if they get stuck with him.  The ball just gets stuck on Beals hands too much.

Honestly they'd be better trying to get Sabonis.  But that means shipping Beal to a bad team.  Not sure they'd do that to him.

Additionally any bad team (or an undesirable market) would have to be concerned about Beal walking in the off-season.  There aren’t many good fits for Beal.

The Clippers are trading Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson and future second-round pick to the Trail Blazers for Norman Powell and Robert Covington, sources tell ESPN.

NoPo & RoCo are kinda scale-model versions of Playoff P and Kahwon't and the $$ aint all that stoopit. Beat LA, LA!! hope we get a good look @ Keon up in Portlifa but we'll more likely get yet another chance to watch Justise regress to the mean

Holy #### a non-simmons post from you.
