they're 6mil under luxury tax right now (apparently that's what having BolBol/Dozier in their back pockets was all about) but have two spots to fill in the buyout/FA market. maybe that euro PG from a coupla yrs ago who Dubs signed/cut and i'd like to get just-cut Moses Brown back altho they got a Korver type named Hauser they might promote from his 2-waySo the Celtics added salary. I don’t understand bringing in Theis
Robin Lopez (who was rumored to be going to Bucks b4 Ibaka trade) or Whiteside are your two best bets to replace DrummondSooooo . . . buyout market?
Freedom is done in green.they're 6mil under luxury tax right now (apparently that's what having BolBol/Dozier in their back pockets was all about) but have two spots to fill in the buyout/FA market. maybe that euro PG from a coupla yrs ago who Dubs signed/cut and i'd like to get just-cut Moses Brown back altho they got a Korver type named Hauser they might promote from his 2-way
ETA: Horford needs a min reduction and Freedom was getting screened off his coverages too much to pick up the slack
Good move assuming there isn’t a pick in there. Essentially a free rental since neither Hornets piece looked to be a factor in the rotation. Trez doesn’t really help their lack of a stopper down low though.Hornets getting Montrez Harrell from the Wiz for Vernon Carey and Ish Smith. Plus pick?
lotta good GMing, by Mil, Bos, Phil, Tor, Indy (Jalen Smith underrated trade of the day) and, of course, LakersThis is turning out to be a pretty big day. Didn't think this much movement was going to happen.
I like Thies before but he’s overpaid for my liking. But that’s the nba , I guessFreedom is done in green.
I missed Theis, super glad they got him back. Now if they could just sign IT to a 10-day contract or something.
Appears they actually shredded salary. Bruno + Freedom + Schroder make more than TheisSo the Celtics added salary. I don’t understand bringing in Theis
LeBron picking Westbrook over DeRozan was quite the mistake.I remember months back where I wrote I'm not going to worry about the Lakers until February or so. Well it's February, and I'm not worried. They're not going anywhere if they even make the playoffs, so, nothing to worry about this season. Probably nothing to worry about next season either. Excellent use of LeBron's sunset seasons.
Team LeBron is stacked again - took all guards as his reserves though.Just stumbled upon this NBA All-Star draft show on TNT
What a dorkfest
Or Buddy Heild...LeBron picking Westbrook over DeRozan was quite the mistake.
Its the most exciting day on the NBA calendar until at least the playoffs 2nd round. This is turning out to be a pretty big day. Didn't think this much movement was going to happen.
I’m surprised Simmons is playing at all. He was struggling with mental health issues. How do we know he’s ok now?Does Ben suit up March 10? I can't even imagine how he's gonna face that crowd. It's gonna be nasty.
He might be too nervous to play anywhere outside Brooklyn. Nets could just have Simmons play only home games and Kyrie play only road games lol
“mental health issues”I’m surprised Simmons is playing at all. He was struggling with mental health issues. How do we know he’s ok now?

KD skipped Harden and made him the last overall pick while Lebron was cracking up laughingJust stumbled upon this NBA All-Star draft show on TNT
What a dorkfest
I think the Nets won this deal. Anything short of a championship in PHI is a failure, and that's what will happen. Harden will be asking out by Feb 20.
Man I feel for KD. Dude goes into this thing in Brooklyn probably thinking he poised for at least 1 title. Then Kyrie does what he does best, gutting an organization from the inside with stupid off-court drama (I've seen it as a Boston fan). And now Harden is dumped (even sound like he wanted to bail, if you believe the hearsay).
Do we think New York/Brooklyn fans and media are going to be any nicer to Simmons than Philly?
Yeah in the end I think long term if Ben works out to be even marginally good the Nets make out better in this trade. 76ers are basically in a title or Bust mode and if this doesn't work they might want to think about a retool at least, getting rid of Harden and Harris and trying to build something around Maxey if he becomes consistently legit and Embiid if he stays healthy enough. I don't think they can wait with Embiid's questionable health for another rebuild to happen and run with him. That is wild.
Simmons is a good fit with KD and Curry though. Kyrie is still good at basketball too. This is a very good team if Simmons and Kyrie keep their heads straight at the right time.
*adjusts tie* *swings fake golf club*
Embiid's tweet right after the trade:

Agreed - its at least market value on a player on an expiring deal who obviously didnt want to stay for whatever reason. As a Nets fan I am excited to see how this team gels - there is no more big 3 but easily could be a better all around team....now if Kyrie could just play full time....
Say what now?!?I honestly think Ben's Defense is overrated and I think his weaknesses were blocked by how good the 76ers team defense was. I think with the Nets bad defense he's going to get exposed more now on that end of the floor too if he ever plays again
Say what now?!?
He's a legit elite defender, that is a fact.
And he will play for Brooklyn and soon.
If he even suits up the fans should get a free cheeseburger.
To Summarize:Harden picked up his 47M option WTF that is way too much for a decline player like him. The 76ers IMHO were 1 and done in the playoffs without a move because all teams had to do was double Embiid and force the 76ers other players to do well. Harris/Curry are just too inconsistent to rely on that. Harden is a good player but not worth what they gave up. Yes they give up Simmons bu they take another cancer in Harden with questionable defense effort instead of a guy with questionable offensive effort, who if they lose in the 2nd round like I see he's gonna ask out already. I think Drummond is a good back up and considering Joel's health (knock on wood hasn't had anything major this year YET) was a nice back up and also reliable minutes for Joel to rest. Now they have zero help there for him. Which is bad for a guy who's cardio has been questioned for some time come playoffs.
The also kind of lack a bench outside of Mills honestly
Seems like a lost opportunity. How are they justifying that?Thunder are $23 million under the salary floor![]()
Trae shot horribly while Ben was guarding him that round.I guess you missed Trea Young torching him in the playoffs.
I didn't even know that. Wild.I often forget Kyrie is from Australia. That's an awful lot of Aussies for one NBA team. A real shame they couldn't Thybulle as well.
