2021 Dallas Cowboys - SIZZLER Open for a limited time. SF @ DAL (1 Viewer)

Trevon Diggs is quickly becoming an outright steal in last years draft in the second round.
Yes he is, and teams are going to learn to quit challenging him eventually. Also Parsons with another 4 tackles, one for a loss, and another sack- plus numerous pressures, is setting up this young defense to be a serious contender. Quinn was a very underrated hire at DC!

We’re having a season. I’m just enjoying it. Not getting excited yet.

I thought this back in the 90s and I’ll say it again now- There is no salary cap on coaches. If I were the Cowboys I would look to sign all these former HCs to lucrative long term deals. I’m talking HC money.

Yep. The Cowboys have had the best personnel department in the league for some time. This team is a result of that. Say what you want about ol' Jer, but he makes a lot of good decisions (hiring Quinn is certainly one of them).

The personnel department won't win the Super Bowl, but we've got as good a chance as anyone this season as it stands right now (with decent luck). McCarthy doesn't have to be Hoody.

Wearing 54 was blasphemy of the great Manster Randy White. 9 was more appropriate, as in... “SMITH WITH ANOTHER TACKLE.......  nine yards downfield.🤦🏻

Pretty impressive that Dallas was missing 6 starters(4 top guys on defense) against an undefeated Carolina team. Right now our depth is solid, as everyone has bought in on Quinn’s system.

quoted:

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn spoke Monday about how the defense has already played 30 players in the first four games: 13 defensive linemen, 11 defensive backs and six linebackers.

“That’s significantly high, if you think about it,” McCarthy said. “That’s usually in the teens in my experience over a four-game period. That excites us because we feel like that will really help us moving forward and then when the other guys do come back, the competition’s still there.”

Quinn added that he is “absolutely thrilled” that there is more to come, mentioning Gallimore, defensive tackle Trysten Hill (knee) and rookie cornerback Kelvin Joseph (groin).

Dallas defense continues to prove what a joke Nolan and Tomsula were last year. Granted that Covid limited practices and learning the scheme, but Quinn and Durde are proving to be masters at this. Take in to consideration that we are missing pro bowler DLaw at DE, starting safety Wilson, both starting D Linemen and our other starting corner Joseph- and this team is stacked in depth. Last night on the play when Daniel Jones tried to score on the outside, that was our stud rookies Jabril Cox and Golston who slammed the door shut. You think Jalen Smith makes that stop??? Hell no, probably not even in the picture frame as Jones scores. Also think about the job Golston is doing. We only get him in the 3rd because Philly gives us that pick so they can move up a spot to get their guy. Good trade for both teams, but we STILL GOT OUR GUY, Micah Parsons, AND Golston for free!! I don’t know if we fully get how fortunate we are Philly didn’t snatch Parsons in front of us. That would have been the ultimate slap in the face 😳
Watch Golston. Watch Cox. Studs in the making.... Then we bring back Gallimore clogging the middle, Gallup and Collins on a league leading offense and Dallas is a scary well balanced machine. Gonna be fun again in Big D!

and when are QBs gonna listen to Brees and quit throwing at Diggs???😁

Bit of a sloppy win, but they still won without it being close at the end.  Zeke resurgence continues, which is great to see.  Looking forward to Joseph slowly getting back into the mix and getting Gallup back at some point.

Micah Parsons averaged 42 defensive snaps per game the first 3 games. The last 2: 66

“Perfectly fine with my workload. I’m still playing at a high level. I told coach, ‘Unless I drop dead on that field, don’t take me off.’ I’m young. I just want to be out there.”

man crush. 👍🏼

All true. Jones is fast AF and both of those rookies played that perfectly. Cox beat Jones to the corner and Golston was there if Jones tried to cut back.

We used to be able to take breaks when the defense was on the field. Now I don’t want to miss anything.

Here is the remaining schedule.

@ Patriots

@ Vikings

Falcons

@ Chiefs (Nov 21)

@Giants

FOOTBALL TEAM :lmao:  (Dec 26)

Cardinals

I see at least 6-7 wins even if we struggle. Many more if we continue to play up to our potential.

Best part about all of this is with the exception of Neal, these guys on defense are mostly rookies and other guys who are only in game 6 of year one under Dan Quinn's scheme. Just wait until they all get better, not to mention growing their young NFL bodies into grown ### men. Oh man, the only trouble were going to have over the next couple of years is trying to hang on to everybody from coaches to players.

PAY THEM JERRY!!!! Pay both DQ and Moore BOATLOADS to stay.

I think the Cowboys will be favored in every game except the Chiefs game, and maybe they will be favored in the Chiefs game if KC doesn't start winning. I see them ending at 13-3. The flip side of the defensive players possibly getting better because they are so young right now is that the league will learn how to play best against all of them, so them being better as a whole over time is not necessarily a given.

That is what I’m worried about after facing the pats this week. Bill will undoubtedly pull the veil back on what we have been doing and some clever ways to attempt to stop the Cowboys. They may or may not have the talent, but other teams watching might.

Ol' Jer gonna TRY to pay them for sure. He aint cheap.

BTW, it's scary how good this team could be given their offense & the potential on D. Having the best front office in the NFL is starting to pay off.

That said, the salary cap is the elephant in the room. Hopefully, we do a good job of keeping the right players.

Big win on the road versus The Bill, Dak becoming the top QB in the league and now we get a bye to get well. Clean up the penalties and this team is dominate.

was a struggle all game, felt like the Cowboys should have been up big but kept wasting opportunities.  Hope Dak gets right over the bye and the inured ones get back.

They overcame disastrous penalties and giving up big plays on defense. For the past 25 years Dallas seemed to always lose these types of games. Good teams win these types of games.

Loving this team more every week.

Hating the coaching more every week. Also, i think penalties are a result of coaching, generally, which more or less allowed that game to be close.

Mile-high view, kind of a scary finish to that game.

Cowboys get a pick-6 to take the lead with what was it, 2:06 remaining?

Next play is a 75 yard TD to Bourn. That’s…less than ideal.

credit where due, they came right back and salted it away, but ideally I’d think the Dallas defense could have stepped up a little there & not let superstars Mac Jones & Bourne connect right there.

This was a thrilling victory that was very close to being a crushing defeat.

Hard to know what to make of this Cowboys team week to week. Not hating on the Cowboys - the offense is legit. Just trying to figure out how good they are on defense & it’s difficult. I thought they were improving until this week.

Gratz to the fans & enjoy sizzler tho. 👍🏼

Both starting DL, our star DE, starting safety, and starting CB are out with injury. Let's see how many come back after the bye.

Ah - yeah, that’s probably not helpful to the D to be without them.

Did I see correctly that Dak strained his calf on the last play?

The Cowboys own a MRI machine so they use it all the time. I wouldnt worry.

Dak has shown he can avoid and play through injuries except the one time Logan Ryan side-horse collared Dak.

I will address the elephant in the room: if push comes to shove and Kellen Moore wants to be the HC - I would favor his presence of McCarthy's.  I am not in love with McCarthy, at this point.  His situational management seems to be poor.  Judgement, not great.  He is the reason that wasn't a 48-17 blow-out win.  I realize, the offense is stellar but that 4th and 1 on our 34 was stupid.  Should have been 13-7 at the half... Great win, but McCarthy doesn't seem to understand momentum or trust the defense.

I think Kazee got penalized for lighting a wr up on a play like that one last week

In real time it looked like he didn’t hit Bourne on purpose

idk

That's kinda funny - I think that going for it there was the only correct 4th down choice all game.

Yeah, I'm not completely against going for it on 4th but that play call with that field position gave the Pats a TD.  I can't complain because Dallas won, but... we have more reason to go for it, instead of a 60 yard field goal than trusting our punter and defense.
