What a great win. Everyone is pretty much showing progress! Score looks closer than the game ever was. Love the uptick in blitz calls on defense, most of them seemed to be called at the right time.
Hurts with 3 rushing TD's. This guy will probably become the first 1k/10TD QB in NFL history. If you don't see the progress he is showing, you aren't paying attention. Not a finished product yet.
We are peaking at the right time in our schedule and season.
Team chemistry is also peaking which is one of the more underrated aspects of team building b/c we can't see any stats on that.
Get to playoffs, get our team playoff experience. Keep on moving forward.
Him and Taylor have both gotten better and better in this scheme. Hope Taylor isn’t hurt to badlyTJ Edwards signed a 1 year extension. Good, he is playing really well lately.
i know that the saints were down at least two starting linemen on their O, but it looked like Gannon called a great game mixing in those blitzes. i noted yesterday Hurts on the field and Sirianni on offensive side looks great, should have also included this on the defensive side too.Love the uptick in blitz calls on defense, most of them seemed to be called at the right time.
Yeah. Pretty much was ESP was saying yesterday. I'd lean that direction for sure, but nothing is a given, considering the strange offseasons we have every once in a while. And I don’t know how everyone will take this but these recent signing ensure Howie is 100% back next year.

It was Oct. 27, and the Eagles were still reeling from another blowout loss, this one 33-22 to the Raiders in Las Vegas.I
They had trailed by as many as 23 points in the 4th quarter, the fourth time in five weeks they trailed by at least 21 points at some point in an ugly loss. And they arrived in Philly to the reality that they were 2-5 with five losses in their last six games.
Things seemed hopeless.
Nick Sirianni met with the media three days later and insisted there was progress being made, we just couldn’t see it yet. But even if it wasn’t visible on game day, he could see it Monday through Saturday in the way his team worked, the way his players practiced, the way they bought into his core values and the way his players were learning.
That’s when he talked about flowers and everybody laughed at him.
They mocked him and ridiculed him because everybody knows football is war, players are gladiators, games are battles and we don’t talk about flowers around here.
But if you stopped to think about it, his point was a good one. A plant grows roots below the ground where nobody can see before it blossoms above ground into something that looks pretty good.
When Sirianni shared this allegory with his players, he talked about plants, not flowers. When he shared the story with the media, he said flowers.
Be that as it may, the reaction to Sirianni’s message was instantaneous.

“Fire him.”
“He’s clueless.”
“What an idiot.”
Sirianni definitely has a different way of doing things, and his New Agey botanical metaphor – along with that 2-5 record – did not go over well.
But there was one place Sirianni’s message did through, and that was the only place that really mattered.
The locker room.
“One thing I love about our team meetings is you really don’t know what to expect, and you’re always going to leave with something that you truly remember about how the talk went,” T.J. Edwards said a day later.
“I think that’s something kind of awesome that coach does, keeping it fresh with us. I think the team took it well. We’re obviously disappointed how the season’s gone so far, but there’s no stopping us at all.”
Guess what’s happened since Sirianni’s chat?
Sirianni and Jonathan Gannon both seem to have developed a better understanding of their personnel and what each player is good at. The offense has morphed into a running game powerhouse. The defense has played extremely physical and has finally started forcing turnovers.
And the Eagles are 3-1 since Sirianni’s flower analogy, with all three wins by double digits and the one loss coming to a 6-4 Chargers team on the last play of the game.
The Eagles are a dangerous football team right now, and with an extra wild-card in the mix and a schedule that’s awfully favorable over the next five weeks, it’s absolutely realistic to start thinking postseason.
Sirianni was right.
Everything he said on Oct. 27 was true. The Eagles were getting blown out week after week, but he never lost the team. Amidst all the ugly losses, his message never stopped getting through, and his players never stopped working and learning and growing and improving and buying in.
Progress was being made every day. We just couldn’t see it yet. Which was his point all along.
Im not there yet. I’m just going week to week. Giants next week on short rest but I’m curious if Judge’s team gets up for a “revenge” game because of the perceived slight last year. Obviously it’s very winnable but I’m curious to see how we come out.I'm assuming they're making the playoffs, so no way would Lurie fire him if they do.
The remaining schedule is pretty easy and the rest of the NFC is mediocre or bad, plus the extra wildcard spot. They would have to implode at this point to not get the 6 or 7 seed.
Eagles did a wonderful job getting Jordan with the contract extension already. i am not positive of all of the OLs in the NFC, but i think he has a legit chance for Pro Bowl. might be one of the best contracts in a year or soI've watched this Mailata block like 25 times and it's still fun.
these signings combined with the accummulation of draft picks certainly should have most reconsider the value with Howie. And I don’t know how everyone will take this but these recent signing ensure Howie is 100% back next year.
I was looking at it and I think we only win the SF game for sure. Not certain about the others. We can certainly say it's possible but it's also possible teams find a way to counter is by now if we did.Imagine if we actually attempted more than 5 rushes/game the first half of the season?!?![]()

Good thing we have Boston Scott: Giant Killer.Looks like Taylor is heading to IR and Howard will miss this week, both with knee sprains according to Sirianni
Dude put a pic of that on IG and put his location as IHOP. I got a good chuckle out of itTom Hagen said:I've watched this Mailata block like 25 times and it's still fun.
I’ve been following Thomas for a while now and posted his videos here throughout the years. He’s great and engaging on Twitter as well. I love him and Fran Duffy for their breakdowns. They’re so detailed.i am starting to really dig film breakdowns that come around. Baldy does great with it, but this guy on youtube has done Mailatta videos since he was drafted. fun to watch:

it is funny thinking of guy's like Fletcher getting double teamed all the time. Watching Mailatta and Landon combine to double on a block i think would move a Mac truck at 1:02.
also hope Kelcey can play one more year. this OL looks like it can be a true force the rest of the season
ETA: just thinking if Brooks could have avoided that injury. The OL would be an absolute beast with Brooks and Lane on the right side, and Landon and Mailatta on the left.
Unfortunately, I think Brooks has entered the JP phase of his career where he's still among the best at his position when he plays, but we can't depend on him giving us 17 games so it's good that we have adequate/developing guys behind him.ETA: just thinking if Brooks could have avoided that injury. It’s possible it’s even worse than Peters. Brooks will be 33 next season and will have played in 1.5 games since 2019 come next year. He’s breaking down very fast.Unfortunately, I think Brooks has entered the JP phase of his career where he's still among the best at his position when he plays, but we can't depend on him giving us 17 games so it's good that we have adequate/developing guys behind him.
Running for 200+ on Detroit was one thing. On the Saints though - damn impressive. The Saints only had one game before that even giving up over 100 rushing yards.Insein said:Just heard a stat. Through the first 7 weeks, eagles had the lowest rushing total in the league (32nd). Now with the last 4 games, the Eagles are now ranked 2nd overall on the year in rushing behind only the Browns.
Johnny Page is really good as wellI’ve been following Thomas for a while now and posted his videos here throughout the years. He’s great and engaging on Twitter as well. I love him and Fran Duffy for their breakdowns. They’re so detailed.
Garrett was so bad that it can only make them better. Hated seeing Clappa Red leaveGiants fired Clappy Garrett. Wonder how that affects this week's game.
I think Dickerson is about as vivid an example of the benefit of Sirianni adjusting to his players’ strengths. Dickerson was struggling in pass pro but is clearly dominant as a run blockerMailata has been so good we forgot about how impressive Dickerson has been:
Landon Dickerson has the 2nd highest run block win rate among all NFL guards, per ESPN (76 %)
Hes a beast and our future center.I think Dickerson is about as vivid an example of the benefit of Sirianni adjusting to his players’ strengths. Dickerson was struggling in pass pro but is clearly dominant as a run blocker
He’s so dominant @ LG next to Mailata it makes me not want them to change it.Hes a beast and our future center.
Is Brooks projected to come back this year?
It was a projected 8-10 week injury (pec strain, not a tear), and he got it about 8 weeks ago. So there's a chance he's back for the last few games. With Davion Taylor headed to IR this week, that could open a spot for Brooks if he's ready. They are back at practice today so could see Brooks if they are ready to open his "21-day practice window" from IR.Is Brooks projected to come back this year?
I have a lot of respect for coaches like Stoutland and Johnson for being content to do what they love and what they are good at instead of chasing head coaching jobs.In my lifetime, I haven't seen a better Non Head Coach coach than Jeff Stoutland. Jim Johnson too, but recency bias and all, man its just so awesome we have been able to keep him here, despite HC and the results are so obvious. He's also helping on run designs as well. Sign him to a contract for life please.
“Still no update on Brandon Brooks from Nick Sirianni. Also declines to say if Brooks will be back in the starting lineup whenever he’s healthy.”It was a projected 8-10 week injury (pec strain, not a tear), and he got it about 8 weeks ago. Also, let's shout out to officially having a better year this year then last, as we have already surpassed last years win total... And that's without Wentz, mostly without Ertz, a ton of first years starters (players AND coaches). We've got some young core players we're excited about, when last year seemed deviod of talent and a roster going the way of the Jets.
NOBODY is going to mix up or confuse the needs just because we sneak in as the 7 seed. This won't be confused with the post SB seasonSome of that goes to the layers and coaches but I think our schedule recently has helped us out a lot too and making us look a lot better than we are. I'd rather miss the playoffs then be one and don and probably get curbed stomped by whoever we play. Plus I think the team would become complacent and not fix issues thinking "hey we made the playoffs lets just put a band aid like the SB", where as missing the playoffs forces the org to make moves necessary needed to fix the holes.
Maybe. They have a 2.5 game lead and outside of Arizona they’re schedule is just as easy as ours.I hate to say this, but am I crazy to think the final game of the season could decide the division? Currently two games back, the ease of the remaining schedule. Between now and then they just need to win one more game than Dallas does and at least have the same division record as them (Eagles would win the next tie breaker of common games).
That can't really happen, right?
