Also does CP3 getting hurt matter that much? Obviously the trickle down impact matters, but he really looks cooked to me, and it would have been a shocker for him to stay healthy for an entire postseason anyways

Hell yeah it does. I think the suns may get swept now. No bench. Durant and booker got to score 80 every game

It's becoming clearer with each passing game. Boston doesn't have a closer.
The first time head coach designed a play for Marcus Smart to make the play. Not sure why he keeps leaning so much on Smart, but he's done so all season long. Tatum and Brown have shown up in big playoff games for years now.

Last night is why you got Harden.
That's what Harden does. Show up big in game 1's. It's the playoffs, just wait until games 5-7, he won't be nearly as impressive.

The Memphis Grizzlies have informed pending free agent Dillon Brooks that he will not be brought back under any circumstances, league sources say.
Moving on from Dillon is the right call. Too bad the Grizz didn't pull him from the starting lineup at some point in the past few years. He'd be best as a rotational player off the bench IMO.

...
5. AWFUL shooter
6. Takes a lot of shots.
Dillon ducking the media was a huge red flag. That alone will cost him millions. Your #5 & #6 have always been my biggest issues with him on court though. He just takes way too many shots, and many of them are low quality - especially for his shooting ability. That's a bad, bad combo.

Also does CP3 getting hurt matter that much?
Yes. It maintains CP3's pristine playoff record of not showing up when it matters most.

Exactly. The Suns biggest weakness coming into the series is depth. Losing a legit starter is huge for them. Not only that- CP3’s ability to playmake allows Booker and Durant to purely focus on scoring. Losing him would force some playmaking back onto players that they desperately need to have a score first mentality.

Embiid doubtful for game 2. Would be shocked if he plays. God I hope he's able to play, and play well on Friday.

What's with the 4 days between games for the Nuggets/Suns series? We coulda used that.

Chris Paul out for next 3 games likely. Oof Suns.

ETA: These Playoffs suck with all the injuries to star players.

That series is 1 to 2 games ahead of everybody - it was a way to fill the NBA's schedule.

I am a devoted hater of what the NBA has become, particularly in the 82 game slog of the regular season.

But my son and I, during this Playoffs, keep agreeing....when the NBA is good, there is no sport that is more fun.

Great game. 👍 Lakers doubling and forcing ball out of Curry's hands on Poole's 95 footer.

AD was awesome.

Interested to see if Lakers can get away with AD sagging on those high screens all series.
Anyone want to say Kerr should've taken a time out once the hard double came at Curry? Or is that only valid criticism when it's Coach Bud?

No. That's only cause coach bud sucks

Losing Paul isn't going to change the outcome. Wouldnt be a shock if Paul's played his last game as Sun (only partial guarantee deal next season....no guaranteed money the season after). Maybe they run it back one last season but I'd look to makes moves with Paul and/or Ayton.

Ayton doesn't have the motor to be more than an above average player. It doesn't take much time watching him to see that.

The Lakers know how to trigger the most destructive aspects of Draymond Green. They not only get him out of his game, but get him so riled up and unfocussed that he wrecks the flow, the rhythm, of the entire Warriors team.

They really train the refs well to handle player BS. If I was the ref when Draymond threw his tantrum and then just kept on and on, I would have given him a second technical and ejected him.

I know fans want to criticize the refs all the time, sometimes justifiably so, sometimes not. But IMO the level of constant disrespect shown to the refs by the players is one of the most negative things about NBA basketball today.

I 100% thought that they needed a timeout to draw up a play.

they have to be used to it by now. if I was a ref I would give preferable calls to guys that just played and didnt complain every 2 minutes.

Does anyone ever get used to getting whined at and yelled at while at work? I don't think they do.

Why did Spolestra not challenge that shot clock violation?
Also do not understand how they said Adebayo didn't foul Hardenstien before Brusnon shot that three. Some big whiffs from the Scott Foster yet again.
The explanation was he had "started his upward shooting motion" prior to the foul occurring. Not sure what the exact rule says, but that was the in-game explanation I believe.
