No idea what dirt Jeff Green has on Malone for him to be playing this deep in the 4th qtr over AG
Just managing AG as usual. Did you guys notice MPJ didn't play a minute in the 4th? He will be traded if possible this off season. That contract is horrible though.
I will go out on a limb and think he does well next game
MPJ? After game one MPJ said he’s not going to keep missing that many threes.

His quote after tonight...
“It’s just about winning, bro,” Porter told
@denverpost “At this point, where we’re at, we don’t have time for dudes to be in their feelings.”

He's done in any pressure situation imo. And that third quarter good stretch he had tonight was like two or three minutes. I laughed and was like, "who is this guy?" He's like a poor man's Tatum. When he's not on fire shooting, he's not helping.

That was an important game for Denver and a big win.

Bam doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves as a superstar imo. He has been a thorn in my Celtics side for the last few years. Time Lord used to neutralize him, but Bam upped his game even further this year. Butler probably gets to much credit also.

Joker is the ultimate basketball paradox. He runs ugly. His shooting form is hideous. There's no grace at all about his motion.

And yet he's arguably the most efficient player to ever step on a court. It's crazy.
He’s that old man at the Y that calls next and everyone laughs, and then he drops 50 on you without breaking a swear.

Read a stat earlier today, that as good we all think the Nuggets are, three of the four series that they have played were against play in teams. That is wild.

I was trying to explain to my nephew how ugly his game is and all he wanted to talk about was Jokic's production. "Who cares," I said, "when talking about whether his game is beautiful or not?" His game is brutal to watch.
Eastern Europe...it ain't pretty....but it gets the job done.

So refreshing to see different players having success in these playoffs. I read about Jokic but never really saw him play much. Really have to watch him a few time to appreciate how good a player in every aspect of the game he is. Doing things that have never been done in NBA history. And doing it while looking almost clumsy.

Also he does seem very thoughtful and respectful in every interview after the games win or lose.

Would a team of the best Euros in the NBA beat the best from the US? In a 7 game series ... not some trash All Star like game Joker, Giannis, Doncic, Gobert, Sabonis, Portzingis. The depth isn't there at the smaller positions, but maybe it should be and scouts aren't finding them. If I am running a bottom 10 team in the NBA, there's a chance I tell my GM find me mostly international players and lets roll.

And I say the next knowing I was part of the problem as an AAU coach for years ..... The reality is that much like say soccer, the US training focuses on games and winning (read that as parents and coaches being concerned about trophies and raw athleticism) rather than skill development. The kids would have gotten a lot more out of it if we focused more on footwork, shooting form, court visions, etc. Kobe said so much about his years in Greece. He learned skills. US so more concerned about Oak Hill beating Monteverde in a trash game of jacked up 3s and dunks.

it may depend on who plays for which team.

For example, Embiid is eligible to play for either France or the US.

Jokic obviously makes things a bit easier on the Euro's since he can act as the point guard. If Wemby is the real thing, the Euro's would have unlimited depth in quality big guys especially if Embiid plays for them.

Edit to add that if they did ever find a way to take this seriously, I think it would be significantly more entertaining rather than trying to force an FA Cup lite to the fans with out the infrastructure to support what makes a cup tournament great.

Did you see this on tv or come up with it on your own? Because they are discussing it on first take right now.

Who'd be on the NBA team? Age wise.....the Euro team is all under 30. Most of the US greats we'd THINK would be on the team are all old men. What if it were under 30 NBA U.S. players? Who would it be?

I get it’s a regular season award but it’s still hilarious people were arguing for Embiid over Joker.

Makes me wonder how many of those Embiid homers are rooting for the Heat just so Jokic doesn't have a ring and a finals MVP and have a strangle hold as best center in league.

I don't think a single sixers fan cares about that.

I am rooting for the Heat because I like Jimmy Butler and the Sixers should have kept him.

I guarantee there some, and at least one on this board.

In terms of "younger" US players, I would think of Tatum, Fox, Brown, Mitchell, Randle, Booker....players like that.....

By themselves they would struggle against the Euro squad so you would have to factor in some of the older players like Curry, Butler, Durrant, Lillard etc

I realized that Joker really meant he didn't care if he won when he sat out the last two weeks of the season with a "calf" injury. It annoyed me because it just gave the Embiid slurpers ammunition to neg Joker. I guess he will have the last laugh though getting the ring this weekend.

I'm actually fine with no MVP this year for Joker. Just can't put him in the same category as Bird, Russell and Wilt without a championship to his name (yet).

Of course that has nothing to do with him being the best planet all season. Just an intangible personal opinion.

If Jokic won the MVP and didn't ever lead his team a chip, IMO his legacy would have always been negatively tainted and that wouldn't be deserved.

I am one of the biggest 80's Celtics homer's around. My dad took us to see them in 86 and I had season tickets in the early Pierce years. Bird, DJ, McHale, and Parish were so money. DJ was a star/champ even BEFORE he came to Boston. What a crew to grow up with. I seriously think Jokic is as good as Bird and probably better overall. I really hope he can put up a few more injury free years. If so I expect he will be the G.O.A.T. when it is all said and done. I have watched every Nugs game the last two years and most since the bubble fwiw.

Echo your thoughts and totally awesome that you've adopted the Nuggets

yet states the girl is a low rent p0rn star.

Not some contrived stat.

>>NBA stat of the day #281:

List of players with 30/20/10 NBA finals game:

Nikola Jokic (tonight)

One of one<<

Further:

Total number of 30/20/10 games in the playoffs ... 5. Joker has 3 of those 5. The other 2 ... 1 by Kareem and 1 by Wilt.

He really needs to step up his defensive effort and get a quadruple double if he wants to enter Hakeem territory

I just like watching greatness in sports. And Jayson Tatum makes me want to jump off the Tobin half the time.

Hakeem, Moses Malone, and Duncan were all so good. We were lucky to be able to witness their careers. All were far superior players than Kobe, Barkley and Shaq imo.

Duncan, Shaq, Hakeem, Kobe, Barkley, Moses

That's the correct order of greatness

Yeah, they literally posted a graphic last night saying it was pronounced like Brown and discussing that fact.
:fishing:
This is like Theisman. Dude changes the pronunciation just for the **** of it
Not sure how widespread this is, or how it started, but here in Kansas there are a lot of Brauns who pronounce their last name as "Brown." Definitely not something he decided.
