Joe and the moderators let the trolls run amuck on this site and if/when you push back they suspend you. I seriously considered never returning back - and leaving for good is still under consideration - but for now I’m just going to cut back on posting and also just spend far less time here.I cannot imagine a scenario where you got a time out. You're one of the nicest people around!
See above, except Binky it.![]()
or spending all your time on your favorite Clapton songs!
I'll see what I can do.Deadline will be moved back to Sunday night.... midnight.
Same thing happened to me several weeks back. It was frustrating, but I like being a member of this little online community, so I got over it. I have a list done, I just want to run through it 6 or 7 more times in case I want to make changes.I have it on good authority that the following people who submitted top 25 lists haven't submitted for the top 64, which is OK if you're busy or not interested or spending all your time on your favorite Clapton songs! But if you want to submit, we'd love to have you, and if you need more time, I know a guy who might be willing to work with you on that. Just let us know!

That was me at one point last year, but somehow I got over it. Can empathize with the frustration of being dinged for seemingly harmless comments.Same thing happened to me several weeks back. I guess William Howard Taft jokes are way off the table then.few days after the election, I made a joke:
The only way Trump’s getting to 270 is if he loses 50 pounds
nine weeks
was out until New Years Day

As for the 1-64, I'm also going to have to bail on that. Just can't dedicate the time right now.
I'm still in shock you got a seat on the bench. Out of all of us, you'd be the one I'd least expect that to happen to.That was me at one point last year, but somehow I got over it. Can empathize with the frustration of being dinged for seemingly harmless comments.

Happened twice - I think in the RIP thread. My gallows humor doesn't always go over well with some.I'm still in shock you got a seat on the bench. Out of all of us, you'd be the one I'd least expect that to happen to.
Were you punning? Those tend to get misunderstood by a few in positions of power.Happened twice - I think in the RIP thread. My gallows humor doesn't always go over well with some.
The RIP thread seems to be a major source of bannings. There seems to be zero tolerance there.Happened twice - I think in the RIP thread. My gallows humor doesn't always go over well with some.
You keep posting that, you might get another.
I'm sure that's what it was - that's what I do.Were you punning? Those tend to get misunderstood by a few in positions of power.Happened twice - I think in the RIP thread. My gallows humor doesn't always go over well with some.
well I know how to hide itI can zap it if you want - although not sure how to do that anymore.
if I don’t give a like to a Hoard post, I probably didn’t see itLeroy is my hero in that regard.
The music threads can get a little hairy, too. K4 even gave herself a timeout. We can’t lose any more of the interesting, bright, and witty posters. It’s ok to disagree and even stir the pot a little but throw a couple of jabs and then move. The safest play is to stick to the music threads.
I surely deserved my suspension this time (I did lose my composure, but it was a bad day for me) - but of course as usual the troll was allowed to get off scott-free. He was probably the one to report me as well - that's how it generally works around here.I'm still in shock you got a seat on the bench. Out of all of us, you'd be the one I'd least expect that to happen to.
There have been several times over the years when I expected to get the hammer, but didn't for whatever reason(s). I was wrong on those occasions and would have understood why I got the TO.

We need to be more oh-bla-di, oh-bla-da about things.
This is good advice. I was surely more triggered that day as it was at or very near the one year anniversary of the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I was in a dark place and couldn't move past some fat troll making a joke at my expense, and trying to make me look like a fool by putting words in my mouth that I never said.I try to post less or stay completely away when I feel like I'm sliding toward depression

That's basically been my m.o. in the FFA since April 14, 2003, with selected other threads. I despise politics, so I have no interest in ever veering in there. We can’t lose any more of the interesting, bright, and witty posters. Nothing to be embarrassed about. You were emotional that day and encountered someone who likes to push buttons.Embarassingly enough, yes.
I think you are my longest ifriend on here, zam. I remember in the early days when you, me, Uncle Humana, and Nigel Tufnel hung out in music related threads a lot. That's basically been my m.o. in the FFA since April 14, 2003, with selected other threads.
Yes, they got me for one of those too. Around here anyone who has died in the last hundred years is off limits.Happened twice - I think in the RIP thread. My gallows humor doesn't always go over well with some.
He just died in 1930, better wait a few years on those.I guess William Howard Taft jokes are way off the table then.
I'm not sure anything was off the table with Taft.zamboni said:I guess William Howard Taft jokes are way off the table then.
Yes, I've heard that he had a very skinny dog.I'm not sure anything was off the table with Taft.

We still have two songs that have been on every list.

I agree with this although I think one of your "friends" is part of the problem. I was wondering if they were, but I wasn't sure if it had been that long with those two. Those were the days.Pretty sure Uruk and Leroy were both with us way back then, too.

That's why you couldn't find me at the Grandover during the ACCTI do remember thinking Uruk was a black guy that played basketball back in his hey day.
I don't know if I was in on the ground floor, but it had to be close to it if not. I remember we had a really long music trivia thread back then. Those were the days.Pretty sure Uruk and Leroy were both with us way back then, too.
Yes, at the time I think it was the longest thread in history. Like nearly 400 pages long.I don't know if I was in on the ground floor, but it had to be close to it if not. I remember we had a really long music trivia thread back then.

Certainly had a lot of time on our hands back then, as opposed to, um, now.![]()
