2022 NBA Roster Draft - This draft goes to 12! (2 Viewers)

7.11 P.J. Washington CHA PF

PF that can play small-ball center when needed.  Defensive metrics are very good and he blocks a ton of shots.  On offense he does a little bit of everything, including knocking down 3's just over 40%.

He's a Myles Turner type (PF version), only I like his outside shot more.  Turner is an elite shot-blocker though and that ability separates him from other similar-ish, slightly smaller ballers like PJ.  I'd love to see Turner end up in Charlotte, with Washington getting a bigger role in Indiana or elsewhere.

7.07 Spencer Dinwiddie

write-up later

don't take any of my other guys or i will burn the building down
always liked dinwiddie's game and versatility and we needed another ball handler.  he can fill in to lots of lineups at the 1 or the 2.  He worked really hard to improve his game and come back from his injuries, though i do have a slight fear that his athleticism has been sapped a bit.  nonetheless, he only really needs to play like 20 mpg here, so should be fine.

Sorry for the delay guys. I hate being that dude that holds things up. Crazy busy at work.

I feel like I either missed his name on the draft list—or maybe most people don’t believe in him.  He’s not who I wanted here—but I think it’s impossible to pass him up. I like having a bench player that can give me some offensive punch. He’s also a pretty good on-ball defender—even though he’s not great off of the ball.

I will take

RJ Barrett.

Argh, that’s who I wanted.

So my thoughts were that we'd rank all the teams as a group for seeding porpoises, then use polls in the greater FFA to determine our champion once the draft is over. If anyone knows of a sim engine (nba2whatever, anyone?) that could simulate a season that would certainly be cool as well.

If the majority would rather wait until the end of the season, I will acquiesce, but my intention was always to run the polls right away. I didn't intend this as a back-to-the-future exercise, hoewver I'd certainly be interested in drafting, say, 15 man rosters before the next season starts and then running the polls at the competion of the season (a la WIS BTF drafts we did).

If I thought the entire ffa would be judging, I probably would have done things a little differently…like choose “nobody plays defense” for like three of my selections

I'll bring some scoring to my second unit by adding reigning 6th man of the year Jordan Clarkson G. Like Terry Rozier, he can play both guard spots and orchestrate when Lamelo needs a breather.

@Yo Mama

Thought about going a couple directions here, but I need someone who can create his own shot and act as a secondary ballhandler.

7.17 - Caris LeVert, SG/SF - Pacers

I think he might even fit better in my starting lineup, but we’ll see.  Not bad getting 19/4/4 with a steal and two 3s a game at this point in the draft

YO MAMA’S STROKEMASTERS

Kyle Lowry

Caris LeVert / Duncan Robinson

Klay Thompson

Miles Bridges

Karl Anthony Towns / Mitchell Robinson

7.18 Evan Fournier G/F

Great shooter.  Spot up is his strength so he could start next to LeBron but can also do some stuff off the dribble as a 6th man or when LBJ is on the bench.

That's a heartbreaker.

well, #### it.

when Hubie Brown had the Knicks in the 80s, he didnt have a very good bench, so he picked five scrubs and practiced em together with his scheme and, just before the end of the first quarter, all 5 starters would come off the floor at once and his five bench guys would come on as one and press, trap, swarm, harrass and run for anywhere from 4-8 minutes. it often turned games around, sometimes dug em a hole they couldnt get out of, but it was a creative way to give your starters a blow

7.19 Russell Westbrook, PG LAL

Russ, you aint starting, you aint finishing, but you're going in with four other guys at the 10:00 mark of each half and youre leading em in hellball - however you wanna play it - til youre gassed. you dont hafta guess how we'll feel about it except the result, you can totally go your own way. if you wanna rehad your rep, here's your chance. say one word - and he usually dont - and i'll violate you and take $555,555 out your pocket every game for as long as they'll let me. whaddya say?

Shoot threes and play dees boys.  You'll get more minutes and you're pretty efficient.  And Malik your game tonight sure helped me make up my mind.

Russ, you're legitimately one of the two best players on this team.  But your shi##y attitude and being lazy make you seem like you shouldn't even be in this league.  NEVER SHOOT A THREE AGAIN.  You're first off the bench, you're going to run the 2nd team.  Show these young guys what it looks like to play harder than anyone else game in, game out.  You've done it before, do it again.  Slash to the hoop, dunk, dish, play hard defense, get rebounds, and when you're on the court with Giannis throw it to the rim for him.  You'll be an All Star once again.

That was my pitch, anyway.  :(

The main reason I was staying clear of Westbrook was because if you could get him to accept the role he could excel in he'd be great. But he'd never accept that, so....................

8.2 Saddiq Bey, Wing, Det

Someday, this kid is gonna be that guy from Pops' best teams. No muss, no fuss, play hardsmart & smarthard and pot corner trey after corner trey on a championship team. Here's hopin' that happens on the shores of Huron.

which makes it a perfect time to teach these guys precisely why they get $40mil and take it away from them if they dont do completely as asked. i got Josh Giddey - i can beat y'all w a four-man bench.

8.3 Bogdan Bogdanovic G/F

I love this guy, he’s just a winner who knows how to play the game.  He can do it all.  Big role in the Hawks playoff run last year but like the Hawks this year it’s been rocky.  Natural fit who can do whatever you ask.

There he is!

Some good picks in the last little run.

8.04 Immanuel Quickley, PG

Pick and roll, getting buckets, actually plays a lot of D (538's RAPTOR really likes him on both sides of the ball). Also liked many of the guards recently taken because, like I said, they're basically all the same.

His teams (SAC + ATL) are 159-195 in his 4+ years in the league
