How’s y’all defense looking. Looking to end my streaming after week 1 lol
it is a question mark. talent is there so think they are up in the top 10 talent wise, but depends on how the DC runs the defense. i would take them, but certainly :homer:'ish with that pick

oh man, out of the 5 predictions so far, all 5 of us took the Eagles to win over Jax. That one had me pause, i could see Doug P. draw up some fun plays to let the Eagles know he has some value still

Prediction for the game:

Eagles 34
Lions 19

We get a bunch of pressure on Goff all day long, he has a pick 6, or we have some sort of cool defensive TD early, they come out behind quick.
On offense we run all over them, AJ Brown has a great debut as an Eagle, Goedert eats some. Game not as close as score indicates.

2022 Eagles Regular Season Prediction Contest is back, with a world-famous menagerie of Eagles swag as the top prize!

Same rules as last season:
  • Using the format below (and my official entry) as a template, indicate these 3 things about the Eagles 2022 season: overall record, total points scored, and the outcome of each game: W/L/T (make sure your Wins and Losses match up with your overall record!)
  • Number of correct W/L outcome predictions by game will be the first tie-breaker if multiple entries have the correct overall record, and total points (closest, over or under) will be the second tie-breaker, if needed.
  • Entries need to be posted in this thread by noon EST on Sunday, September 11th. Open to all FBGs, even Cowboys fans from the Philly area that, deep down like Anakin Skywalker, still have some good in them.
Good luck!

Damn, 8-1 would be an insane start.

And DJax would be saying we'd be 9-0 with any other qb.

Sorry if Honda…

Analyzing all 53 Eagles players on the 2022 roster

Wow, you guys are stacked. Roseman has done a great job constructing this team. I know everyone is thinking the jury’s still out on whether you have the right QB, but there are no holes, no weaknesses.

This is what Detroit is trying to accomplish. Not sure if Dan Campbell is the right coach, but like everyone I hope he’s successful. I have no doubt about Brad Holmes, though. Two strong drafts, low cost FAs, decent contributions from UDFAs, taking the Dead Cap hits & moving on, in sync with the HC on the vision. Build from the inside out.

Unlike the Eagles, we have major holes. Can’t throw a deep ball and the defense cannot get off the field. Maybe Hutchinson (Edge) and Rodriguez (LB) are difference makers. IDK, still looks like a 5-7 win team to me.

GL rest of season after Sunday. Should win the division and who knows what will happen in the playoffs.

I don't think the Eagles think they got a QB yet and Howie is always going to tinker with the roster. If he feels he can upgrade more at other areas he will. We got a TE but that doesn't mean Howie wouldn't trade for a really good TE or bring a guy in as the new #2. They love competition.

I'm also not big on this hype for us. Other then upgrading the roster our QB position is still suspect and how will the new guys on Defense gel. We didn't beat anyone with a winning record other then the Saints who were 1 game above avg thanks to the extra game now and thats because we played NO team that had a MASH Unit on call with all their injuries. We looked terrible vs TB in the playoffs. Can we beat the teams that matter this year?

From a Rams story on The Athletic, seems we were pretty deep into getting Allen Robinson before the Rams pivoted in their offseason and made a last-minute run at him. We likely don't make the AJ Brown trade if this didn't happen, so I'm happy with how it turned out:

McVay was nervous about his receiving corps. Beckham, playing on a one-year deal, tore his ACL in the Super Bowl en route to what may have been an MVP performance. The Rams wanted (and still want) to bring Beckham back but knew he couldn’t contribute until November or December. No. 3 receiver Van Jefferson had just undergone the first of two knee procedures. Woods was still recovering from his torn ACL and so was considered by staff as an “unknown” for 2022.

The energy in the room started buzzing as the group turned on film cut-ups of Robinson. Still, the Rams were cautious. They knew they couldn’t offer him more than the framework they had set aside for Kupp. They also figured he had a couple of suitors already. Would he consider them?

Late that Wednesday night, the Rams called Robinson. He was deep in talks with the Eagles, two sources told The Athletic, but the Rams asked him to postpone his final decision long enough to get on a video call with McVay and Stafford. The coach and quarterback showed Robinson clips of Beckham that they had hustled to put together for the occasion showing how the passing offense eventually evolved around him and Kupp.

Me too I'd rather have AJ over A_ROB nothing against ARob but Think he's been inconsistent and he's 4 yrs older then AJ. I'll take this move all day but it also helps me that we still got the 2 guys in the draft I really wanted in Davis and Dean anyway too despite giving up the 1st rounder. We still got 2 for next year at least.

Unfortunately I get to only see 1st QTR and a half. I got work at 2-8 because one of the kids screwed up his request time off. I told my boss about it as he needed Fri-Tues and he gave him Sun-Tues off. Didn't turn it in on time. Luckily we got a new guy coming in for training this coming week. If he works out well I might suggest to my boss do to this kids lack of effort and seeming not wanting to be here to cut his hours eventually. Gonna need to figure out some off time as I know a few other games they'll screw me over like usual.

I’m going to follow the Jags a bit this year. I want to see Dougie do well, and what he makes of Trevor.

I got Etienne on my Fantasy team.I've always liked the Jags though to an extent. They usually have a few Florida guys almost every year.

Quite the debut for Robinson last night...

Your hurts haterism is showing

I'm spitting out Facts. He didn't beat one team above .5OO and any winning team last year absolutely killed him with a good defense.

This doesn't count Playoffs right? He could if he plays all 17 games enter 2nd place on the Eagles list at end of the season.

Best Week 1 records, since 2011:

9-2 - Eagles
8-3 - Broncos
8-3 - Chiefs
8-3 - Patriots
8-3 - 49ers

Covey and Togai are the 2 temporary call ups up from the PS for tomorrow. 53rd roster spot stays unused. They are probably using it to bring back a vet on Tuesday (which now won’t be on a guaranteed contract).

Yes but it's not just one player that makes a team. The Eagles team (by pretty much every expert opinion) is far superior compared to last year. Barring injuries, their floor should be double digit wins given their talent and weak division.

ETA - ok 10 wins is not really their floor but I think it's a safe bet. In fact, the Vegas odds is currently 9.5 and I'm going to make that over bet now.
