2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (4 Viewers)

So we got SF in the title game.

The winner will also win the Super Bowl, I'm calling it now.

I can't see the Bengals or KC with a giddy Mahomes beating us or SF.
Would assume that if KC can somehow get past Cincy, Mahomes isn't going to be all that gimpy for the Bowl. That's three weeks out.

Welp, they get SF. Not worried after watching Dallas frustrate Purdy. Certainly SF can win, but I think Philly takes it.
Purdy's going to experience a different atmosphere then he's used to, on the road in Philly.
Still won't be an easy game by any stretch. They're going to try to run it down our throats, with a dozen passes to Kittle. we shall see.

If the Eagles are on their game, they can handle either of these teams (Kansas City is another story). Obviously in game, anything can happen, a bad read, a missed assignment, too many penalties, etc... But the way this game is going, the Eagles are going to be favored by 5 points.
Not sure KC gets past Cincy. That high ankle sprain is s bigger deal than people are talking about.
Even without, Cincy is a GOOD team. Think we match up well, but still.

At the start of the season every single Eagles fan would have signed up for “1 seed with no Rodgers or Brady to worry about, only Daniel Jones and Brock Purdy in your path to the Superbowl” and that now has a strong chance of being reality.

Not saying that makes it a slam dunk or even easy, but definitely puts them in one of the best positions of all the ways things could have shaken out.
And here we are. Gotta carpe diem, boys.

Cincinnati is an excellent team, they just have a ton of injuries on the o-line and I'm not sure when/if they'll be back. A depleted offensive line vs the Eagles isn't a blueprint for success.

They're going to try to take it out of Purdy's hands. San Fran will need to win the turnover battle to win the game. They're way more capable than the Giants of doing that. Should be a solid game.

Electric Sweat vs. the 49ers offensive line will be the matchup of next week. Book your tickets, boys, going to need lots of wipers on that visor.

Prediction: Pressure from the DL with minimal blitzes and even moderate control of their running game will force Purdy out of his comfort zone throwing to the middle of the field. A pick 6 and possibly a strip sack return bursts Mr. Irrelevant's bubble and ends SF's QB fairy tale story. Just can't see him thriving in the hostile atmosphere he'll be subject to in Philly.

I'm calling it a double digit win.

Ya I'd love this but I don't see it. God I'm excited.

yeah lot to digest with a new opponent. i know before the Dallas game there was a lot of talk about how alpha WRs can exploit the SF defense, so hope is that AJ Brown is healthy and him and Devonta can blow up on Sunday

In Miami this week for work. Wore an Eagles sweatshirt through the airports.

“Go Birds!” directed to me while walking in the Philly airport: 2

Didn’t see that coming!
I've noticed this too when I go to cities. If you're in a city without a lot of Eagles fans and you're wearing Eagles gear, a fellow Eagles fan will be excited and call out at you. If you're in Philly, it's just so common.

Whenever I come to Philly I forget where I am and have to stop myself from walking up to anyone I see in Eagles gear and telling them I'm also an Eagles fan and striking up a convo with them.

Miami is a bunch of transplants from the Northeast. My Cousin works for the MIA Heat down and he sees a ton of Philly people there constantly. Also the cafe I go to the one barista is from Miami. He said everyone who is from there wants to get the hell out while everyone from the NE for whatever reason wants to live down there.

Fun stat of the week:

When SF gets 1 or 0 turnovers, they are 4-3. They NEED their defense to give extra possessions to Purdy and company to win their games. If they don't get them, they are a little above .500.
SF needs us to do something that we simply don't do very often. Hurts really doesn't throw picks and while fumbles can be flukey, outside of the bad Washington game, we've lost 7 fumbles all season.

When Philly gets 1 or 0 turnovers, they are.....9-0. We have a tremendous offense that does NOT need additional possessions the way that SF does. If we win the turnover battle, we will win the game.

Barring Jalen completely ****ting the bed in the biggest game of his life (something that I don't think is possible with this kid) we should win.

My hotel room number is 1849, the exact year the Niners are named for!

Good or bad omen? :oldunsure:

I wonder if the Eagles would consider lining up Landon Dickerson on the same side with Lane Johnson to create an even more explosive offense than it is right now. I'm not saying move Lane Johnson over to left tackle, but move Landon Dickerson over to right guard. I mean, it only makes sense to have Lane Johnson lined up against Nick Bosa for this Sunday. And then, I can see Landon Dickerson creating holes for Miles Sanders to get open running room. I'm just saying if the Eagles shuffle their offensive line around, then the Eagles would be guaranteed a win this Sunday.

Does Bosa only line up on the right side? I would think they move him all around to create mismatches based on their opponent.

speaking of offensive line, i was looking up the Kelce one-armed pancake from the Giants game, and fell into this one from the Titans game.

Kelce and Dickerson literally throw this guy like 5 feet in the air. this OL has to be a ton of fun to play with:

also would love to table all of this talk for off-season, but really wonder what kind of number Hurts gets in his contract going forward. i see Daniel Jones at a possible $30 million a year, no doubt Hurts will be way above that if it is true.

either way, I never though Howie could get the Eagles off of the Wentz contract, so i am happy with whatever they give Jalen. i have no reason to think he will become apathetic or stop to grow, but if for some very odd reason he does i think Howie can ensure we aren't in cap hell for years

I do wonder if Kelce comes back for one more next year. He does seem like he's having a blast out there. But maybe his body will say that's enough when the seasons done.
might depend on the result of the season. I thought for sure he was done after this but ya, could see him coming back for one more.

I guess it also depends on if Cam is ready in his eyes or not. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to leave the team out to dry.

i also wonder about Fletch and BG. i think Kelce is either retire or play again, can't imagine he would even consider going to another team (unless really would want to play with his brother or some other big variable)

Start with Kyler Murray's contract and go up from there.

This game is like a battle of 2 world-class lines both offense and defense. The 49ers may have better talent individually but as a collective whole, the Eagles O-line and D-line are insanely good. Possibly the best in Eagles history.

I expect Bosa to test Johnson first and then Mailata. Warner shot the gap against the Cowboys frequently. I don't see much of that happening against us. Someone will need to spy Hurts plus contain the edge.

We seem to be building on the RPOs and Read Options to give them new looks. All of our RBs are healthy and refreshed. I hope we pound it all day long...

I see Fletch continue chasing a paycheck similar to Jason Peters. I think BG is an eagle for life. When he's ready, he'll hang it up.

Damn, tickets were basically impossible to get this morning. Anyone have any luck? Guess I'll be counting on last minute stub hub ones

With the way TM conspires with the teams on that demand pricing model they probably would have been as expensive as resale tickets unless you were one of the very first people in the queue anyway.

trying to hold off on all off-season discussions because man, do we have a bunch of fun stuff to discuss with the draft picks and amount of free agents, and cap space.

but a simple one i see, is who would we rather have, Miles or Tony Pollard. Pollard is predicted out with a 3-4 month recovery. he can probably be signed cheaper if he hits free agency, and Gainwell and prob some rookie can be the RB to start the season. If cheaper, might be the better way to go. i do like Miles as a player and a person, but would hate to pay a bunch there. hope he gets a big paycheck somewhere

We need to sign Hurts so probably shouldn't go spending much money on an RB. If RB is that important to you, take Bijan with one of those two 1st rounders. There are some other good RBs coming out that can be had later too. Just get somebody cheap and reasonably productive.

No way they pay what Miles wants. Especially since they'll have to pay Hurts.
