What is with guys disappearing just before it is their turn to pick? Are you not all sitting at your desk anxiously following this thread like me?

Nerds.

PG Jrue Holiday

C Bam Adebayo

Really like how this group is shaping up. Good amount of scoring, shooting at all levels, defense, play making, etc. What I could use at the 4 is a good defender who can do it all, run the offense at times, shoot well enough to keep the defense honest, but who doesn't need the ball.

5.10 PF Kyle Anderson, $9,219,512

5.09 Andrew Wiggins, $24,330,357

Get a guy who can defend the other team's best wing, and knock down an open shot. Can also self-create a little bit too.
Was between him and Gordon on my last one, but thought the latter was a slightly better fit (and a little cheaper)

This is the other guy i considered heavily with DFS. I decided the self creation and slightly worse defense (both are very good IMO) wasn't worth the extra $10M. Also admittedly got a little scared when he didn't come back great last year and has started off horribly this year.

He scored like 8 of Golden State's first 10 points in a game I watched a couple of nights ago, and I was thinking, "Uh oh, this is the guy who showed up in the 2022 playoffs." Then he didn't do a single noteworthy thing for the next 45 minutes and I totally forgot he was out there (which is basically the story of most of his career). Quite the enigma, this one.

With the core of my roster in place, it's time to pick up some cheaper role players. Leading to the below dude shooting 39.1% behind the arc on some really bad teams

SF Corey Kispert $3,722,040

Damian Lillard
Derrick White
Corey Kispert
Aaron Gordon
Victor Wembanyama

Wendell Carter Jr. C $13,050,000

A remarkably underrated player, likely because his counting stats are good, not great (16/9/2 with 1 stock) but he is a very good positional defender who can move his feet fairly well for a center and positively affects the offensive end. I think he is one of the dozen or so centers in the NBA that are unlikely to be played off the floor against nearly any team as he is a good team defender (despite nearly no blocks or steals), rebounds the ball well, hits his free throws, and had developed into a solid three-point shooter (5 3PA/36 last year at 36%). Fits my mold around Curry and Doncic of versatility and two-way play.

PG: Steph Curry
SG: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
SF: Luka Doncic
PF: TBD
C: Wendell Carter Jr.
6th: Trey Murphy

5.17 - Russell Westbrook - PG

$3,835,738

I was hoping somebody would snipe me but I can't ignore the value at this point.

He seems to have bought into his role with the Clippers which will be similar to how he'll play off of Edwards and Brown on my team. I'll have a Plan B if it all goes south.

I was hoping to get him to run my second team. Great value.

Son of Yo Mama selects:

5.18 - Nikola Vucevic - C, DaBulls
$18,518,519

A slow start to the season probably caused him to slip, but this team needs a big who can score and shoot fairly well from the outside.

Amazing what a difference $40M makes.
