2023-2024 NBA Salary Cap Draft - SECOND Annual Battle for the Wikkid Cup - Preseason Rankings are In! (1 Viewer)

Son of PIK wants 6.02 Kelly Oubre,
like 2 million

$2,891,467
I'm seeing $2,019,706.
Nope - it’s what Eephus said
I'm confused? Aren't we using the same site? 23-24?

I thought this was what we were using?

Oubre's base salary is $2.8M but his cap hit is $2.0M

Oubre's base salary is $2.8M but his cap hit is $2.0M

But we were supposed to be using the numbers strictly from that hoop hype I thought. Why are we suddenly moving the goalposts?

Yeah that’s weird. HoopsHype now has him at the lower number.

I’ll leave it up to the masses - keep it per the spreadsheet or update it?

I think it's fine to adjust this one, but can we all agree that the spreadsheet is it from now on? And that if you wanna check a price, check there?

We’re using the google sheet, which has it at the higher number.

I am just confused. I thought hoop hype was where the salary numbers are being drawn from? I have no idea about anything else.

Wait really?

How did you think we were tracking the teams and picks and cap?

Are you serious? It’s what we’ve all been using. Use the link on the first post. It keeps track of everything.

That's something WE enter though, no? It automatically populates salarys?

There are tabs at the bottom where you can see the per-entered salary list, along with individual teams.

Since Son of PIK is going to need every penny, I'm OK w/ letting him slide with the cheaper Oubre.

But the Google Sheet is the authoritative source.

I never saw there was a master salary list on that Google. Who entered it woing then? So hoops hype was NOT the source?

Mama went through before we started, pulled everything that was accurate as of that day, and set up the sheet called Master Salary List. Everything else pulls from there (or should).

If it doesnt I can go in tomorrow and add some formulas to automate stuff.

There is a Master Salary Sheet, which is a full list of all player salaries, and where people are supposed to put their names next to the player so everyone knows that player is taken.

Where did those numbers on the master salary list come from? You said Hoop Hype at the beginning so that's what we look at. I would think they should both be the same if Hoop Hype was the source, no?

It’s two fairly easy steps - put your name next to the player on the Master Salary tab and copy that info onto the Draft tab. I think it’s fine without any more automation.

This is not that hard. HoopsHype is another website. They make updates and changes too. We took a snapshot in time and now we live with it.

Yes, it’s from HoopsHype, which must have changed after we set up the initial draft file.

Gavel has been slammed and can’t be unslammed!

I mean a cursory look and I saw like 4 guys on the salary tab that are drafted but had no name next to them. So it's not THAT easy for some xD

THANK YOU!

I clean things up during the day on the spreadsheet fairly often, but I don't mess with it much from my phone in the evening.

I'll be honest, I'm with @PIK95 in that I've been using and referencing hoopshype as well, and thought Oubre had the lower salary.

Might wanna double-check all the picks I've entered for people haha.

Spotrac is way better than hoopshype. Cap hits and base salary are different too

I agree Spotrac > HoopsHype by a wide margin for accuracy.

But also it's kind of moot as long as well all just use the spreadsheet as the source. Idk why anyone is looking them up elsewhere anyway lol. It's a contrived exercise.

I set up the spreadsheet so that everyone has the same source of information and doesn’t have to search out the salaries by themselves. Not sure why Oubre’s changed and has different numbers depending on where you look.

To me, it’s less confusing to use what we have than change anything at this point. Unless someone wants to do an audit and find any other discrepancies. But we’d need to update the spreadsheet so everyone is using the same salaries.

If I remember correctly from last year Sportrac looked at likely incentives differently, so I decided to use HoopsHype.

There's a link to hoopshype in the OP!

And I like using that site because it has future year's salaries for the players, and some of them make me laugh.

I think it's fine to adjust this one, but can we all agree that the spreadsheet is it from now on? And that if you wanna check a price, check there?
:goodposting:

Think a one-time exception is fair since people were evidently using different sources of information. But moving forward, the sheet salary is final.

I’m fine if that’s what everyone wants, but I think I was pretty clear about copying the salaries from the master salary sheet from the start. And I definitely wouldn’t want to use other sources than HoopsHype at this point.

Cap hit and salary are two different things. I vote salary for ease of consistency. We'll be adjusting tons of salaries otherwise.
