Reading between the lines, it seems that Zach LaVine (and Klutch Sports) have asked for a trade and the Bulls are willing to comply. It may not happen for another month or so due to CBA rules.

Yea may be as far out as January 15 because of when some guys were signed.

CHI fans, expect a not spectacular return

Not sure what this article is trying to tell us. A local Fox affiliate is casting doubt that Oubre was hit by a car? Maybe he fractured his ribs on his own?

Just read a similar article. Something seems fishy.
Man, I hope he didn’t do something stupid and then lie. That will be worse.
At the very least it seems like there should be video of him walking around downtown before being hit and then being injured some time after that. Even if they don't have video of the actual collision, there should be enough video to show something happened to him.

Everyone is making a point to say they aren't accusing him of making it up, they just can't find a video of the actual incident.

TMZ ring camera video of him coming home after the incident. He has a bicycle with him. https://www.crossingbroad.com/2023/...ubre-after-reported-hit-and-run-incident.html
i'm having a hard time imagining how he got clipped in the "upper body" by a car going at a high rate of speed.

one would have to be very, very, very close and extremely lucky to get hit only in the "upper body" by a car mirror attached to a car traveling at a high rate of speed and not be severely ****ed.

eta: that video casts even more doubt on the validity of his story.
And there are cameras all over Broad St.

Caruso is the guy that other teams covet. The Bulls might attach LaVine to any trade in order to get value back.

He is owed over 40 million until the end of the 26/27 and didn't he have a similar injury to Blake Griffin and Amare Stoudemire? Those injuries don't age well. The Bulls and their fans should be happy if they don't have to add any major assets to get rid of him.

I don't know if he had/has the same knee issues as them, but what kind of killed those two was not only the bone-on-bone knee joint, but the resulting microfracture surgery to fix it. I don't think that surgery is performed much anymore due to the long term effects.

Although LaVine has had knee issues, he seems to still have his elite athleticism. Although I agree with Moops point that the return for him won’t be stellar, I believe Daisy is undervaluing him significantly. I guess we’ll find out eventually.

He’s a good player but I wonder who is in a position to pay real assets for him. Zach Lowe and Pelton discussed this on Lowe’s podcast yesterday; I think they only identified a couple teams for whom it made sense.

Not sure if it was a typo, but Lavine is owed almost 180 million through the 26/27 season. A player option of 49 million in that last year

I haven’t listened to the podcast.

The rumors/leaks are that the Sixers, Heat and Lakers are interested. Who knows how true that is.

I guess the Heat could give part of the pieces they were offering for Dame assuming they would value LaVine over Herro. 76ers could give back some of what they got for Harden. I’m not sure about the Lakers.

Knicks have been interested in the past apparently.

I would much prefer Herro on his contract over Lavine at his contract. If MIA gets in I think it would be Robinson + Lowry + picks

It's worth a listen. They identified the Lakers and Toronto as good fits. They were pretty dismissive of the fit in New York and Philadelphia.

Crazy that Ja flashes a legally owned weapon on IG for 3 seconds and gets 25 games and Draymond chokes a Frenchman in front of a full arena and only gets 5. Wild.

I'm looking forward to the day when Jokic flashes his hunting rifle on stream. Doubt anyone will flinch.

Silver is gutless (Stern would have given him half a season at least for choking a player on an NBA court), and the way some of the sports media has defended Green in the last 40 hours shows how pathetic the sports media is nowadays. Like we didn't know that already, but this just rubber stamps it.

Jokic doesn't have a history of being an idiot. That usually matters.

not really. they are up but majority of them don't work. We haven't had a legit mayor here for over a year, so whole city has a ton of broken pieces

David Robinson and Tim Duncan in attendance tonight.

The connection this franchise retains with former players is second to none.

If anyone is interested in checking out the In Season Tournament standings, remaining games, some analysis, and knockout round status, I put a bunch of stuff in the in season tournament challenge thread. It’s basically my NBA IST nerd blog.

The East groups are in there now since their games are done for the night. West will either come later tonight or tomorrow (depending on my beverage intake).

Not sure why the court in Utah is violet but I kinda like it. At first I thought there was something wrong with the tint on my TV.
In-Season tourney court. I don't think it matters much to the players, but some of them have been dreadful on TV.

I know about the tourney courts just never realized violet was an integral part of Utah's color scheme. Always affiliated those purple hues with PHX, LAL and TOR but I haven't paid much attention to Utah the past few decades.

The red courts are so harsh that Utah's court is growing on me. May be my favorite thus far.

West groups and knockout info now updated in the other thread.

Orlando held the Bulls to 33 first-half points, but then took their foot off the gas and the Bulls stormed back and grabbed the lead in the last two minutes of the 4th quarter.

Bad defense and poor shot selection doomed the Bulls in the end.

It's regretful to watch how good Franz Wagner is and how good he probably will be in the next couple of years, and how he should be doing it in Chicago--he was the draft pick the Bulls sent to Orlando in the Vucevic trade.

That trade and drafting Franz was a franchise changer for the Magic. Finally!

Arrgh. I'm three hours down the Interstate from Memphis, but League Pass is blocking my access to the Spurs tonight. Hope we get a win.

edit: JFC!
