There are 5 deserving conference champions. Nobody who didn't win a conference has any shot at all.

Man, what a fantastic 8 team tournament we could have this year:

Washington vs. Ohio State
Michigan vs. Oregon
Texas vs. Georgia
FSU vs. Alabama

We just had 2 weeks of tournament games - Georgia v Bama, Washington v Oregon, and Michigan v Ohio St. I'm gonna miss the regular season mattering.

I am the opposite, I root for OSU every game except that last one in November. The better they look, the better we look in comparison.

Dude - it’s specifically called out in their by-laws. Injuries and coaching changes can and will be factored in.

This one hurts even though I know the FSU team would not be a favorite in the semis or finals. Their D played their hearts out the last couple of games without Travis. I still had hopes that FSU would make it and pull of a an upset or 2…

This process champions itself for letting the teams "decide it on the field" but the practical reality takes that concept completely off the table.

I mean they absolutely dominated that game on defense, and as everyone has pointed out multiple times the 2nd string guy would be back for the playoff. This was the convenient excuse to do what they wanted to do. They were in a tough spot for sure

Not that I necessarily agree with it but they are telling us how much they thought of Georgia going into last night. I’m just glad this is the last season with four teams. It’s been obvious forever that more teams should have a chance to play for a championship.
