Follow up stat to last night’s ND victory over a top ten ranked USC : With that win, Marcus Freeman equals the number of top ten home wins in 1.5 years that Kelly achieved in his 12.

Long way to go, but fun anecdote to wake up to.

Hopefully the Heels can get by pesky UVA next week to stay alive for a shot at redemption in Charlotte.
UVA is terrible. I'm a W&M fan and UVA struggled for a bit against the Tribe. If W&M had an offense (lost their best RB and they have no passing game) it might have been a much closer game.

It doesn't matter how bad UVA is. They give UNC a hell of a time . Usually in Charlottesville, but still.

Many years, like this one, they try to pretend to be the worst team in power 5 football until they get a chance to ruin UNC's season.

Two? Kelly had that many top ten wins at LSU last year.
Yeah and it was later in his tenure. He won 4 total his 12 years at ND - @ Michigan St in 2012, @ Oklahoma in 2012, vs. Stanford in 2018, and vs. Clemson in 2020.

The Clemson win was the one where DJU started because Lawrence was injured. It remains the best win by final rank of his tenure. (2012 Stanford 7th, 2013 Mich St 3rd, 2020 Clemson 3rd).

This Mel Tucker stuff is going to be fascinating. It’s already elevated to federal court for a ruling on her texts that have been withheld, and MSU has yet to say how Tucker violated their misconduct rules. Since he is a state employee, that also plays into it all.

If Sparty thinks they’ll get away with not paying him, they are in for a rude awakening. Several judges and probably arbitrators will decide.

I say Mel gets at least half of what he’s owed. Then he can buy his own 900 service or backpage shanty.

Is there anybody playing QB better than Jayden Daniels this season?

https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/player-stat/qb-rating-ncaa

I mean....he's been otherworldly but Michael Penix has as well and his team is undefeated. Current Heisman odds have Penix at -145. Daniels is tied for 4th at +1300 with Jordan Travis. If Penix has a bad game or gets hurt, Daniels might benefit but his team can't lose any more games. Right? Don't most Heisman winners come from teams that are playing for something late in the season?

I don't expect him to win the Heisman, I just think he's as good as anyone in the country right now. I personally wouldnt trade him for Penix, but I know I'm in the minority there, and wouldnt fault anyone for disagreeing. The LSU defense is responsible for the 2 losses. Daniels is putting up insane numbers.

It seems like a lifetime ago that LSU couldn't find a QB to save their lives. Now "DBU" can't find a cornerback and we've got QBs for days.

First it was burgergate now it's apparently signals/signs gate. NCAA really has nothing to do these days with legal NIL stuff in place huh?

Guy at work came into the office this morning to have his supervisor sign something. We were discussing football and he brought up that his girlfriend was meeting one of her old friends to go to on a road trip to a college football game. He’s staying at home with her dogs to have a “dog weekend” together. Suspicious right? Two girls going out of town partying and tailgating surrounded by young males for a weekend?

She’s getting run through like Shadeur Sanders against the TCU defense.

Page 2 bump on Game Day, 40 minutes before Penn St. V Ohio St? Sad!

In the halcyon days this thread would be humming with activity.

I like Penn St to win. Hope Oregon shakes off last week's rather curious loss to UW and takes care of business at home. Huge game between Utah v USC too.

Wake up, Jeff!

Penn state has no chance to win

People less interested in seeing which BIg 10 team is going to lose to the SEC in the postseason these days than back when they thought they actually had a chance.

There, maybe that'll get the old school discussion going :P

Miyan Williams is such a tough runner. When was the last time tOSU backfield was healthy and all playing together? It seems Henderson or Williams is always on the shelf.

OU is definitely not running the table in Big 12 play. If UCF doesn’t beat them today, Kansas or someone else will.

The improvements from last year are evident, but they don’t run the ball particularly well and they lack big play guys they’ve had the past 20+ years.

Nick Anderson is having a day though! Boomer!

Weird that Utah is a 7 point dog to usc. I’d pick them straight up.

I think USC matches up really well with Utah. USC's biggest problem is the defense, but the Utes are really lacking the offensive firepower to make them pay as much on that front as other teams have.

If USC can score, I don't think the Utes can keep up in a shootout. And so far USC has had no problems scoring against anyone.

I do not like this Devin Brown QB package. It was ineffective last week. And as I type this it looks like I may not see it anymore, but for the wrong reasons.
