How many coaches have they had since Urbs left? Who was the best one out of those?

Coach Mac, this bozo, Mullen and Muschamp. Urban left after 2010. Not great.

Best one was probably Muschamp, which is something.

How often does #2 really happen outside of this guideline? By stationary backs they mean what exactly?

Stationary means NOT in motion.

Used to happen a lot. Pulling linemen and backs would cut linebackers regularly. Also wide relievers used to cut DBs on screen passes a lot.

Now it is a 15 yd penalty, so everyone knows not to do it and they no longer coach it.

Oof…played sloppy on top of the talent issue. Napier is recruiting well now, but they need a few decent wins (UK) to avoid 5th in the SEC East and maybe losing some kids.

Funny you should mentioned it as I came here to post that ACC has approved SMU, Cal and Stanford. Kind of perfect that the vote was 5 AM Pacific Time.

All the usual realignment news tweeps have tweeted it.

Wow so the vote was 12-3. Only NC State flipped - UNC was still a no.

Wolfpack knows that UNC will ditch them the way UCLA ditched Cal if the chance to jump to the B1G or SEC becomes feasible.

They looked bad. Poorly coached, sloppy play, horrible QB and play calling. If they don't turn it around quickly, Sun Belt Billy is toast. I assume that every one of those big name recruits are getting a lot of phone calls from other coaches this morning. Unless it's a dead period, in which case, they're still receiving lots of calls from other coaches.
 
Yeah. I think NC State correctly assessed it's vulnerability compared to UNC who would be considered a hotter expansion property for the B1G or SEC down the road. (It does stink that it means that those 2 being split apart down the road is that much more likely).

For all the leverage plays ESPN/FOX have been making, this appears to be a case that is not what ESPN would want - the $ they have to pay for the additions are mandatory in the contract and the ACC has a safeguard against what would presumably be an unfavorable renegotiation if FSU/Clemson/UNC left w/o backfill in place. The ACC hasn't been the quickest actor but they have acted before it was too late.

Trying to figure out what the total dollars out the door from the networks now compared to the $30m per that ESPN offered an intact Pac 12. Seems like the networks will pay out that same amount if not a little more - so what exactly has been accomplished here is a heckuva question. When doing that calculation really need to count $87m out the door for Cal/Stanford AND SMU - since that was money that is out ESPN's door even though a small fraction is going to the actual PAC 12 teams

Mycah Pittman on his 3rd team now. Still hasn't amassed 1,000 total reception yards in his 5 year college career. Talk about over-hyped.

JT Daniels on his 4th team now. Seems logical.

Former USC first round LOCK Kedon Slovis is on his third team - BYU. Didn't know he was of the faith.
 
Oof. Florida looked like a Sun Belt team playing an SEC team for the first time. Gimmick play calling. Nervous penalties. Lost confidence when down 7-3. Not sure Napier survives long.

Mertz wasn't horrible but it's obvious had the 5 star kid not decommitted he'd have started day 1.

Florida looked unprepared. so many penalties and mistakes. just not ready for the season.

To be fair, they had to leave Florida early due to a hurricane, no telling how much that effected players and coaches. Add to it a destination that the school has never seen before in a time zone they never play in plus elevation they've never experienced. Even for Pac12 schools, that's a HARD place to play. Oregon has had its struggles there even before Utah was in the Pac12.

But yeah, they looked disjointed. That INT deep in their own territory was a nice touch.

Yep.....traditions, regional rivalries....it all means nothing. Student athlete? What a joke! The TV executives are ruining college sports, and we are letting it happen.

It's sad that universities are playing this game of musical chairs and making decisions based on not being the one left standing.......I mean Furd, and Cal going to the ACC? Thats insane! Cal barely has a viable AD!
 
How are you feeling about Sunday night @Capella ? I like both of these teams this year. Lots of returning players, good experienced QBs and lots of talent at the skill positions. I don't know who is going to win, but I know who I'll be betting on.

Daughter is friends with a 5* two sport super athlete. She's also friends with the daughter of the tcu president. Was asked to bring along her super friend to sit in the president's box. Should I report this as a recruiting violation?
