So instead of being out for the year he'll miss a couple games? I swear some of you doom & gloom people should be banned from this forum.

I don't know. This place is "It's Always Sunny in the Jets FBG Forum" compared to Twitter and message boards like Jet Nation.

After 1 drive, we had the "This defense is going to be garbage narrative" and "Wilson sucks". Throw in "Carl Lawson was invisible" - well he didn't play.

After 2 drives, we had "Saleh is a fraud that should be fired" and "We must get Garoppolo even if it costs a first round pick".

It was at that point that I shut down social media and Jets sites for the night. Then I got to be doom and gloom about the Mets losing.

Man, no offense but you need to re-evaluate things. All the Mets do is win and have a good a shot as anyone at winning the World Series. No one is going to beat that 1-2 Scherzer/DeGrom punch in a 7 game series.

But I digress…
They’re mY NL pony, and I have no love for Mutts. They done stole my NY Giants font, then had the audacity to mix blue & orange. 🤢

But they have very complete team, and I’ll root for anything but the Dodgers.

We still liking breece at 1.01 in rookie drafts...seems risky AF to be honest.

I wouldn't let any situation knock me off of the 1.01, especially with Hall testing comparable to Saquon Barkley and leaving nothing on the table when looking at college production. That said, the Jets are probably the one franchise right now where that situation could get ugly. Don't think I didn't think that both when I drafted Wilson last year at 2.11 in a QB-needy league (it's a different type of league), and now Hall.

The one thing the Jets have going for them is their front office and staff. They seem to be on the same page, and they seem to be doing things that the football cognoscenti approve of in their drafts, besides maybe the Becton pick, and the Wilson one (but everyone wanted them to take Justin Fields). That tells me something. They're not being laughed at, nor so far off the beaten path that they're constantly raising eyebrows.

They're a dumpster fire until they start winning, but it's a well-kept flame right now.

This is so key and why I think the Jets are trending upwards. They've got people in place that have worked for stable, winning programs.

im still high on him - with the ZW injury I think they rely even more on the run this yr - Im pretty sure they were playing without their 2 Tackles Fri pm - I expect Hall to be on the high side of a share with Carter and a focal point of the O - kid has too much skills and they practically paid a 1st rder for him.

the jets are not trading for garropolo or rudolph or anyone. they are not giving up on the #2 pick after 11 games or so. but, they need him to take a step forward. they added enough players to now be considered part of the league, but they piss away round 1-3 picks like candy at halloween. until they figure out how to manage the draft, the jury will be out perpetually. funny thing is, they don’t just draft guys who move on from the jets, they draft guys who are out of the league in 3 years. at least we won’t have to pay becton. he’d only spend it all on mcdonald’s.

agreed as to ZW - this yr is alll ZW evaluation - they cant be in another spot like Sam where after 2 seasons they have no idea if he is the real deal or not - if he dosnt have a good season I could very much see JD/Saleh bring in a vet like Jimmy G to have an open competition. They cant keep pumping out losing seasons and bad QB play. IMO this is the last season Wilson has to be the undisputed QB unless he shows development.

Also if Wilson is bad this season, they can draft a QB (I know, I know) who would step into a great situation for a rookie.

Certainly fine news. They're obviously going to be very cautious. Flacco continues to sling it at camp. Would be very surprised if he doesn't start the Baltimore game.

I kind of hope Flacco does start the first two games to give Wilson time to fully heal and get up to speed. It may help establish the offense early if Flacco really is back to form.

We definitely don't need to rush a gimpy QB against Baltimore.

Flacco is ok a game here or there. Anything more and you see the daily warts.

Definitely a possibility - not that it should prevent them if there is a QB there they love - but drafting 3 QBs with high picks in the last 5 yrs would really be something!

I do. Talent gonna talent. That offense is still going to run through Hall. I’m smashing 1.01 rookie draft Hall all day.
Same here, especially after hearing about Walker's hernia. Breece all day and an easy choice.
To me Walker has been a several-tier drop from Hall all along. Hall was considered a top 3 Devy player, while Walker didn't crack the top 20 on most lists.

That's kind of the trap some fall into when drafting - they're getting "the 2nd best RB", but really they're just getting the 2nd best RB in a RB class that had just 1 elite prospect. I'm not saying Walker & Spiller can't be good. They might have excellent NFL careers. But that list is comparing 2022 RBs to other 2022 RBs, so while 1-2-3, there's a lot more space between those guys tier-wise.

Wilson's surgery went well. No surprises.
That always gives me a chuckle when they say any player’s surgery went well. How often do you hear “the surgeon made a bad incision and it went poorly”?
you must not be a Mets fan!

The Wilpons were so cheap that they used to find their surgeons from the American students that failed Dominican Republic medical schools. They came at a discount.

The Mets could have a guy go down with a sprained ankle and 2 years later you find out his arm was amputated.

To be fair the starters either didn’t play or played only a few snaps.
The G Wilson catch was pretty sick. I hope Z Wilson becomes something because the team will be wasting some serious WR talent if they don’t have a QB. Flacco may actually be able to move the ball if the camp reports are accurate.

That was putrid to watch - I think the OL had guys from the crowd just jumping in and lining up....cant judge the O at all in that state. Defense looked bad as usual but without some key players I dont take it too seriously - at least no major injuries

I read that Becton's replacement isnt even practicing with the OL unit yet - thats a bit concerning - reminds me of the last OL they signed in camp that were semi retired and were awful - think it was Khalil?

Bryce Hall looked like this was the first time he’s ever tried to play CB.

Yeah, that was a bit shocking how bad he looked. He's gotten beat before the past few years on occasion, but has been pretty solid for the most part.

I think Hall has definitely lost some explosiveness after he tore his ACL in his senior year at Virginia. The guy was among the best CBs in the nation and slated to be a first round pick before he tore up his knee.

I had a draft during the game, so I couldn't pay as much attention as I usually do, but I wasn't surprised about the first half. We were playing second and third stringers against their first stringers. We manhandled them in the team scrimmages.

We definitely have more depth than in a long time. You can tell that we have a few quality players for a change on the back end of the roster. That's 2 second halves that we have been better.

Well, Greg the Leg won the kicking job.

Awesome tweet from a guy who often rips the Jets.

Yeah, it's preseason. Yeah, it's small sample size. But man, Sauce Gardner looks insane when you watch his coverage snaps. Dude's understanding of zone is outstanding and he just deletes receivers in press-man.

Here we go today...

First drive: Carter for two carries for about five yards total. Davis for nine. Where's Hall? I'm already going to do it. Uh, there he is.

Flacco to Berrios for fifteen.

Flacco to Moore for nine.

Hall for a loss of two.

Hall on third and three for about five. First down!

Incomplete on a bootleg to Moore

Incomplete to Uzomah

Flacco to Carter for ten, fumble, Giants recover.

Are you doing play by play?
My only comment about that Carter fumble is: Jesus, that turf is soooo bad. When are they going to upgrade that crap after all of the injuries on this field.

Anyway, just stay healthy. Nothing else matters at this point.

Interesting. Hall in on third down for Carter to block.

RAGE, this is for people wondering about the Carter/Hall split for fantasy purposes. I'm one of them.

Gotcha. You need to add some pizazz and flair to your play by play. Express your angst that Carter is in over Hall.

So far, it's as reported. Carter starts. Hall is next. I don't think Hall becomes the guy until later in the season or if Carter gets hurt. The new Athletic guy said that Carter should get the starts and be the guy on third down since Hall still has some issues with his pass protection.

LOL. Nice run by Hall for eleven. He had no prayer on that third and short. There were two guys instantly in the backfield. Poor blocking.

Offense shot itself in the foot a few times but moved the ball well. I hate to say it but Flacco runs this offense well. Even his incompletions were nice decisions but just a bit off.

I meant to type this earlier, but I was making a draft lottery video. The more you see of Flacco, the more limitations you see. He's ok at first (and probably not worse than WIlson right now), but he's kind of a bum the more you see him.....like this INT.
