2024-25 NBA Thread: for the second time, somebody in Dallas hits low percentage shot that leads to a generation of conspiracy theories (20 Viewers)

Not sure about the Bulls but the pope is a Cubs fan!

Edit: Oops, pope's brother says he was a White Sox fan.

I forget, but I'm assuming Tatum missed a shot here (based upon context of where I found pic)

Yes. There are like 30 screenshots of wide open looks that they missed

That has to be why they are still favored in the series. Vegas is saying no way will they keep shooting 25 percent from three and 45 percent from from two with all these wide open shots.

I might regret this but I'm going to make a pretty significant wager on Boston -120 on DK to win the series. I just don't see this one getting away from them. If they win the next game, the series odds will be -250 or more. Even it up and it's -500 easy.

I think. What do I know?

I don't sports bet, but I am with you. The Celtics barely lost both those games and I don't think they can play worse. If they just go from worst ever shooting the 3 to just bad they will win.

Anthony Edwards just left the game, doubtful he returns with that ankle
Hard to speculate (but I will)
Done for the Series

BTW: If the sight of ARod makes you grimace or recoil or just the look on his face in general, no sooner than they show him celebrating and high 5'n and next thing you know Edwards is down

Edwards injury if you want to have a look

Wouldn't say it's the worst but he likely is out tonight and could miss a few games IMHO
Speedy recovery because he's one of the most exciting players in the NBA
This Series is coming to a screeching halt
He’s fine. Wolves are fine. Wolves can survive without Ant a lot better than Dubs can without Curry.

I feel like Wolves with out Ant and Warriors without Curry is advantage Warriors.

I decided to go to bed at halftime and right before I laid down I checked the score on my phone and read it as 52 - 49. So I got back, went out to the living toom and turned on the television only to see it was 59 - 42. What a let down.

How? The Dubs only have 2-3 other players that belong on an NBA roster getting meaningful minutes. The Wolves go 8 deep without Ant.

The Warriors have the best player left in that scenario with Butler.

What about DPOY Rudy? (Who I deeply hate)

Draymond making his trouble on the court in to a race thing is both idiotic and a huge slap in the face to people who actually face racism. Dude continues to be a huge POS.
What happened here? I see a bunch of links ESPN wants me to click about it but have refused.
He said that the league wanted to paint him as "an angry black man."

Tony Brothers was the official that initiated the review, completed the review and called the tech.

Draymond, once again, failed his arm at the end of the play in an unnecessary, non-basketball manner, and hit Naz Reid in the side of his head after Reid was called for a foul.

Really sucks that the league creates this catch-22 each playoffs. If GSW wins, we get to see more of Draymond's crap on the court. If they lose, he joins the studio to spew his garbage. Wish someone would give him the punch to the face he deserves.

Makes me long for the days of Dillon Brooks who just plays hard nosed basketball

I only listened to his podcast twice because I thought it was terrible, but I don't think he has been that bad with the TNT crew and he is certainly better than anything ESPN puts out.

I keep hearing podcast folks - knowledgable basketball guys that I like and respect - talk about how the Knicks defense was really good and they showed grit and hustle and that is the main reason they beat Boston. I am skeptical. The reason they won was because Boston missed every single one of these wide open shots. Half of these NY didn't even try to defend the shooter

Derrick White

Al Horford

Jrue Holiday

Jayson Tatum

Payton Pritchard

I thought that the most recent Zach Lowe podcast explained the why of the Celtics failures on offense. Not going to try to reiterate the details, but made sense to me...

It's worth a listen IMO...
